When we first visited the facility during Covid, we were in desperate need of a safe place for my mother to live. This was fall 2020. The facilities seemed very good. The room was a single as I think all are on the memory floor? It was fairly spacious and cozy. She food was average, though my sister saw in an open room supplies of canned soup. I was sure they had a chef and my mother wasn't eating processed foods. She did well for about a year and then we started noticing little things like a high turnover of not just CNA's, but recreation, as well. We started seeing all the reside ta in front of the TV instead of doing exercises or on hands activities. Insyead of floor staff I teracting with residents, it seems any chance they could, they just sat behind the floor desk or we couldn't even find anyone. This continued through winter and then I noticed her laundry piling up and she was running out of clothes. I addressed all of these concerns. I don't feel that much changed. If I came in before 9:00, I'd often find her still in pajamas with wet depends and confused. We decided to move her late spring. Even on her moving day, I came in and she was soaked through, confused, in a dark room and had no breakfast yet. It was appalling. There was also a time when she fell and hit the back of her head and they said she was OK not to get it checked if I was. I trusted the floor nurses judgement. At her new place, they always at least call the emts to check and a head wound would be an immediate trip to the ER. Once we moved her we realized even more how subpar they were in their care, recreation and staff quality. Where she is now is so different. Activities almost every hour, exercises twice a day and the only TV time is right before bed, like an episode of I love Lucy or a movie night. The staff are constantly present, interact and are so great to all the residents. It's amazing.

We went to Whitney Place at Westborough. The place is immaculate. My friend was able to go into another resident's room to see a studio apartment. She was very happy with the people there. They're very friendly and outgoing. The facility is clean as a whistle. The staff is wonderful. They have a hairdresser, a dayroom, and a courtyard. I like the make-up of the room and the design of the studio apartment.

From my point of view, Whitney Place was much more expensive. But it really was very nice, the food was superb, and the tour that we had was excellent. They did a tour on that day, but beforehand they sat down and talked to us a lot. And then as a group, we went around and did all that tour in this way. It was very clean.

My mother has been living at Whitney Place for the past five years in their memory care program. It is wonderful! The staff takes a genuine interest in my mother and they are very compassionate. The memory programs has a variety of activities and my mom is always engaged and busy...she tells me that she is content and glad to have a great place to retire! As a daughter, I couldn't be happier; I feel that she is safe and loved! It's a great place!!!

I liked Whitney Place a lot. I thought it was very spacious, neat and organized and people seemed to flow very nicely from thing to thing. It seemed like a good program, I felt very good about it. The administrators there were very good. If the facility my mom is in now hadn't been as intimate as it is, then that probably would have been where we chose to take her.

Whitney Place was a little cheaper than the other facility that we visited. It seemed nice but not too pretty. It looked well-kept but the outside was a little underwhelming. It was not as fancy and beautiful as the others. The staff were nice and welcoming which contributed to the homey feeling in the facility.
