We placed my mother-in-law in Newton & Wellesley. They have specialized care for dementia and Alzheimer's patients, and I think that they are terrific. It is just what she needs, and she's doing well. It is not easy to move a person that has Alzheimer's, but I think she's doing well, and that's all we can hope for. They have activities, and they try to engage them. They bring them out of their rooms every day. This is a place where some people are in a wheelchair. My mother-in-law just happens to be ambulatory, so she has a walker. They try to have everybody together and do activities with them. They do what they can do with the population. They are all very positive, and it is great. They have an activity leader who is very positive and friendly.

My mom is at Kindred Nursing and Rehabilitation Newton and Wellesley. The place is nice and she's been there for 7 months now. She was put in this facility after surgery from the hospital. There are three beds in a room and 6 people share one bathroom. They are really nice to my mom, but I just found out that they give her a shower once a week and that is just unacceptable. I need to find some place for her because I believe my mom deserves a little bit better. I am just a little bit upset with them and their food is not good. This month, they have a trip, which is nice. They do have sing-a-long which was awesome.
