The exceptionally friendly atmosphere at Southgate was evident from the first time I visited as a prospective resident. Starting at the top, resident services personnel are very accommodating and helpful A great many services and varied activities are offered and an abundance of amenities are also provided. It is obvious much thought has been given to ensure that happiness and well-being is experienced by all. Life at Southgate is very comfortable and enjoyable. It's a great place to spend one's supported retirement years without having to be concerned with the problems of owning a home.

Southgate at Shrewsbury was very nice. It had a bowling alley and a 400-seat movie theater. It didn't have a stove or a pool. The facility was clean.

Southgate at Shrewsbury had a warmer environment and was homier. The units were bigger and the model home was better-looking, which was a big thing for us. They have a floor or two that they can do either independent or assisted living, so you don't have to move if you need more care later on. The person who gave the tour answered all our questions and was very patient. She was not pushy and was only giving us the facts, showed us the different areas, and did a really good job. The cafeteria was very spacious and seemed comfortable. The place was very clean, modern enough, and comfortable, too. They had a pool, a gym, activity rooms where they can choose what they want to do like puzzles, and tons of amenities.

My mother has always been very happy with all the services she has receives, and often says: I'm so glad I came here. The staff are friendly and very helpful. They genuinely care. After 4+ years, it is time for mom to move on to assisted living, which they offer. We really like the fact that as she needs more care they have what is needed.

We went to Southgate at Shewsbury. We just did a walkthrough, but it was nice. We went to the nursing home, but they have an assisted living there too. You get the room, meals, and laundry included.

We're already settled at Southgate at Shrewsbury. We love it and we will stay here for as long as we're able. We have found everybody very helpful, pleasant, and nice. We really couldn't say anything bad about anybody. I did exercises this morning and my husband has done water aerobics. They have all kinds of activities all day long. The food is good and you have a lot of choices. I had a special want last night and I got it. They'd do anything to make you feel like an honored guest. People greet us and invite us to go to dinner with them, so I can't complain about anything at this moment. They adjusted our room how we wanted it. We have not been here that long, but at this point, I can't say that anything is wrong.

Southgate at Shrewsbury Retirement Community's price range is too high. The rooms are superlative, high class, and fancy. The price was too high, and the location is fair and good. The activities are very high.

Southgate is fantastic; they didn’t miss a beat. They have everything: an indoor pool, a bowling alley, a billiard room, and a woodworking shop. They have a magnificent dining room, and really big and really good-sized apartments with two bedrooms and two baths. The cleanliness is fantastic. They do three meals, and they’re over-the-top. Nothing that we looked at outdid Southgate.

We had a great tour of the place about a week ago and stayed to have dinner with a few residents. We learned a lot about the place from their perspective. The previous CEO has been gone for over a year now and the residents and staff are very happy. Our dinner was excellent and we stayed for a show in the theater. We loved the place and if we can sell our house, we’re definitely moving there.

I have lived at Southgate for almost five years now and I’m happy here. The CEO left a long time ago and everyone here is happy most of the time. The food is good, my housekeeper gets the cleaning done, and I get to swim every day if I want. What’s not to like? They go out of their way to make us old folk happy.

My mother is 89 and moved to Hampton Suites assisted living two years ago and she is very happy. Her apartment is larger than anything we saw when we toured other assisted living places. The staff are caring and compassionate. My mother has a memory problem and they have a full activity calendar with activities in the evenings for the residents like my mom who is forgetful. They have nurses on duty most of the time which we like. I highly recommend the place. My mother is very happy and we’re thinking on moving my mother-in-law there.

Southgate at Shrewsbury is listed as one of the better continuing care facilities in the area. It has an independent living facility to nursing home in one campus. It's one of the newer facilities. We liked the set up, they have a core area. We also liked the amenities. They have a swimming pool, a gym, a store and a chapel.

My mother resided in the Assisted Living facility and was left unassisted on many occasions as she roamed the building. When i found out and questioned the staff, I was told that she shouldn't be roaming the hallways.
