My husband is still at CareOne at Newton. He has been there for six months now. The building is very nice. He has built a relationship with the care attendant who waits on him, and he likes her. However, when the administrator went in, my husband reached out to shake his hand, and the administrator said, 'I can't shake your hands. I'll get my hands dirty.' So I went and told him what I thought of him, and I said, 'I don't like you.' The facility itself is a nice-looking place. I was there one day and they were playing bingo. This little lady was in bingo, and she said, 'I need to go to the bathroom,' and the staff said, 'There's nobody that can take you right now. You just have to hold it.' So finally, the little old lady said, 'I can't hold it any longer,' and the staff said, 'Well, just go ahead and pee, and somebody will clean you up later.' The room is relatively small. My husband is in a wheelchair, so the only thing he can do is pull forward and go out of his room. They put two people in each room. The rooms need to be a little bit bigger. But as far as cleaning, there's somebody that comes in and cleans every day. Also once a week at least, they come in and they take them out of the room and clean under everything. I haven't seen anything that was dirty. For a woman, the activities are great. But for a man, they don't have as much stuff. My husband loves to go play bingo. They have a movie once a week, but a lot of times it's something that women would want to see. They play a kind of volleyball with pool noodles and my husband goes to that, too. They have a guy that comes and sings, and my husband doesn't care about what that guy does but that's because my husband is picky. They have a lady coming by that brings books for people to read. The facility looks good when you come in and it's clean.
