Alliance Health at Abbott is very clean. There's no smell when you walk in. It smells nice and fresh. The food is home cooked, and it's fresh. The physical therapists are excellent. My mom is in a two-bedroom apartment. It's a good size. It's clean with big windows. There's lots of light coming in. She has a closet and places to put her clothes in. They have some activities going on like barbecues in this nice little outside area. They have people that come in and entertain. They have bowling and all kinds of little things that they do with the residents. It's an older place, but it's all freshly painted. They have a very nice family room that's big and open with lots of windows and sunlight. The people I have come in contact with have been very nice and very helpful about setting the family up there. They're just understaffed, as almost every place is right now. The CNAs are fair to good. Some are better than others. The doctor is excellent while the administrator is very friendly and tries to get to know everybody. He comes in and asks how you're doing, and that's kind of nice.

The rooms were substandard. The worst of all was the lack of rehabilitation facility. No room to exercise. Junk and boxes piled up. Exercise space should have been. No equipment at all for exercising. It was the most depressing situation anyone could imagine.

My mother will be moving into Abbott Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. It was very warm and inviting, very clean, and everybody there seemed especially nice. It's an older establishment, but it's very, very nice. I know they have a lot of activities, music, and games and singing and so forth. It was a small facility and it seemed well taken care of. She can also receive hospice care while she's there. The staff was very nice and very friendly. Everyone seemed pretty happy there, and they were very social.

Abbott House is a small nursing home located in Lynn, MA. I am not employed by the nursing home. I visited the facility when one of my senior patients was admitted in the Alzheimer's/dementia unit. Abbott house is located near the Lynn/Swampscott border in a quiet neighborhood. The nursing home building is well maintained. The interior of the building is homely and attractive. Residents' rooms are spacious. The building's security is great. Nursing staff is available 24 hours to provide skilled nursing care and assistance with activities of daily living. Round-the-clock assistance is available to residents who are unable to care for themselves. Residents are served with well balanced meals and snacks regularly. Since this is a small nursing home, staff is able to interact more with residents. Salem Hospital and Union Hospital are located 10 minutes from Abbott house. I would recommend Abbott house to seniors looking for a smaller facility offering nursing care.
