My mother was placed to Carlyle House. I cannot be happier with care and staff. They make her comfortable and relaxed, they bring physical therapist and dietitian to her, they consider her likes and dislikes. The best care I would wish to anyone!

Shockingly bad experience. Stay away. My dad needed a rehab for about 2 months following surgery. We had heard good things about Carlyle House from people who had been there pre-Covid, so we were happy when he was placed there. Unfortunately, our experience there did not live up to the pre-Covid comments. The food is terrible. Cold and over-cooked. A ham and cheese sandwich (one slice each) or a peanut butter sandwich is not a sufficient dinner. My father is diabetic, but sugar packets consistently showed up on his tray with his (lukewarm at best) coffee. If you have a loved one staying there, plan to bring in meals for them, rather than expecting Carlyle House to provide nutritious or appetizing food. They seem short-staffed, especially with aides. Dad often had to wait well over 30 minutes for someone to respond to a request to go to the bathroom. When accidents happened after long waits, some of the staff was impatient or rough with him. A few of the staff were really wonderful. Nurses Alex, Kelly, and Amanda were fantastic – professional, knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and understanding. Physical Therapist Christine was also wonderful. The rest of the staff was, well, not. The director skipped both of the meetings my dad arranged with him. Communication and coordination with the social services director was poor at best. The staff doctor saw my father exactly once in two months, on the day before his departure. There’s a lot more, but I’ll leave it at that. I realize that no rehab is going to be a spa and that good staff is hard to find. That said, I still recommend avoiding Carlyle House like the plague.

Zero communication. Calls to social worker and director never returned. Did not give my dad his prescribed medications which ended with him being hospitalized for 2 weeks. At the hospital they found a horrible skin infection that was being ignored at Carlyle. They also lost his wheelchair. Stay away from this facility.

This place is terrible. The staff doesn't bother to help patients. Some were asking for help and the staff completely ignored the them. The apathy of the employees was the worst I had ever seen. Your loved ones deserve better.

Please, if you can bring your loved one to another facility. The "caretakers" are short-staffed and the ones there don't seem to care about the patients at all. Too many to a room, no sanitary precautions are in place. There are not even phones for patients. The patients are completely at the whim of the facility and it is clear to see those who work there want to keep it that way. When someone is bedridden and cannot call a loved one, it only creates deeper depression and hopelessness. People don't recover in an atmosphere such as this. Please, find another place for your loved one. Carlyle House is in business to make money and the owner cuts costs any way he can, with the exception of driving his fancy car which, by the way, takes a premium parking space which is reserved for him. That alone gives you an idea of where his priorities are.

I would like all to know what a positive experience my family and I had with while my Grandmother was at the Carlyle House. She was there for short term rehab (related to a broken hip) and recuperated in the new edition that was bright, large and more than expected. The staff could not have been kinder and more attentive. Definitely 5 stars for Carlyle. SS12

Staff is very aware of residents needs, attentive and friendly. Rooms and facility are clean with lots of windows. Many activities for residents and family holiday events. Nice areas outside for residents and their families.

Horrible nursing home. Aides are the worst they never help patients and sleep on the job after dinner. Patients are ignored and when complaints were issued nothing was ever done about problem

Terrible odor as you walk in . Many of the staff sitting around not helping patients. A few patients were asking for help and staff would completely ignore patient and walk right by them . The meals were not healthy. No fresh vegetables or fruit .

There was such an overwhelming smell of urine when I walked in Carlyle House. It was really awful. That turned me off right away. The rooms weren't bad but they seemed kind of dark to me. The building itself seemed a little run down. I thought they needed a facelift. But as far as the care goes there, it seemed very good. The dining area was clean. It was nicely appointed. They have tablecloths there too. In fact, that was one of the dining rooms that had a piano in it. They also had a section where they have a little library for their residents which I thought was kind of cool.
