My mother was there for 3 months, she went there because she has Alzheimers and fell. She was not eating for two weeks and they said to my sister and I that this was normal because of the medication she was on. She just wanted to sleep. One morning she was unresponsive and was sent to the emergency room with 1/3 of her blood supply. She had 6 blood transfusion in total. How did the nursing home staff not see that my mother was losing blood from her stool?? It was black. We went back to the Cape Regency to talk with the administrator and he did not want to talk to us.

Horrible! We had to pay our own home health care aides while my Mom was there - not only to take care of her but to keep her safe. A few of our home health aides brought her meals as what was provided was not edible. When she was discharged there was no assistance from the staff.

I recently visited two of my friends at Regency and I would not recommend this facility I found the nurses and the sides to be very rude and and very lazy when it comes to answering call lights..so definitely not recommended

The caregivers are very good at Brookside Regency. They are on their fourth care director so clearly they have management problems. My mother was in a dementia unit and she was not crazy about the activities there, but there were a lot of things that promised that never materialized. Since it’s a memory care unit, you can't get off the floor without entry codes. My mother and her friend were in their biggest room and that was pretty good.

This is a very nice facility. The staff is friendly and goes out of their way to ensure that the family feels welcome when visiting their loved ones. I have called numerous times and always forget the room number of my family member and they know who she is by first name and her exact room number. The building itself is clean and smells good. My family member is very happy with her room and with the meals she receives. She would prefer a private room to a shared one but that is unavailable at this point. She also likes the activities that are available to her and enjoys watching TV with the other residents in the recreation room. We, the family, really appreciate how attentive the staff is to any changes our family member might be going through. If she has a bad day they are very aware of it and let us know what happened and why they think she was agitated. They spend the time to chat with her and make her tranistion from being independent to now being under their care a seamless one. We are very happy to have found this facility.

My Grandmother spent some time in this facility. The staff was very friendly and helpful with all of my grandmothers needs. They helped her with her hygiene and also helped her get involved in social events run by the facility. They were welcoming and warm towards me and my grandfather when visiting. They even offer the guests meal to enjoy with their family members. They remained conscious of my grandmother diabetes and were helpful are meal time. My family was very pleased with this facility.
