If you have an opportunity to place a family member at Maplewood, or if you are considering it, jump at the chance. You won't regret it. Working with the lead staff has been excellent. They answer all my questions, whether via e-mail or phone. My mother suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm in Aug 2022, and given what she went through it was unclear when (and if) she'd be able to move there. They kept in communication with me as I made decisions that were best for her, so that when my mom was ready to leave rehab four months later, they knew the situation and had the perfect room for her. Having looked at many facilities of all stripes, Maplewood at Brewster is one of the nicest of all. And it still proves true six months after my mom moved in: gorgeous and clean setting, excellent food (seriously), friendly and caring staff throughout, fun and abundant activities (many holiday themed, music groups, movies in the theatre, etc.), exercise classes including aqua classes which my mom takes full advantage of, transportation to take residents to doctor's appointments/groceries/CVS/outings...it's really ideal. And there is a wellness center on site for my mom when she needs something. I sleep much better knowing that my mom is at Maplewood, and feel a huge sense of gratitude that things worked out for her to live there.

My mother has been in Maplewood in Brewster for several years now, and they're excellent. The staff members are very, very helpful with my mom and they take care of her needs. If there's a problem, they get in touch with me to let me know if they have permission to either send her to the doctor to have something checked out or if I want to take her. So they're in touch all the time. It's a relatively new facility, they had two separate kitchens, and it's from-farm-to-table dining for the most part. The meals are excellent. They've got full-time nursing care, and social activities there, and there are dozens of things to keep people busy. My wife and I have dined there on several occasions, whether it be for a holiday or just lunch or dinner. You have a menu to pick from, there's usually three entrees, three different desserts, and three or four different vegetables to choose from. So it's excellent dining. It's well-staffed, I don't think there's ever a time that they're understaffed. For some reason, they seem to hold onto their employees, and there's no problem there whatsoever. It shows they're treated very well by the upper echelon, so that's great. They have in-house activities, and they take them on trips. They've got a bus where they'll take them to a museum or they have outside entertainment come in, so it's fun. In terms of cost, it's comparable to all the other facilities, but for what you get, you get a good value for your dollar.

My husband was at Maplewood for three years. He was in the assisted living for awhile and then moved to the memory care. The facility is beautiful including the dining area, the apartments, etc. There were activities going on all the time and the meals were delicious, varied, with lots of choices. What really made Maplewood exceptional for me though was the staff. They were very helpful, caring and compassionate. They made him feel so welcome and comfortable right away. Their teamwork was impressive. The nurses, activities staff, resident assistants, kitchen staff, etc. all worked so well together sharing the common goal that my husband and the other residents were safe and comfortable. They knew him so well, not just medically but what he liked to eat, activities he enjoyed, things that would upset him, etc. When my husband was having a rough time, I would find someone just sitting with him and reassuring him that he was OK. They really liked him and cared about him. They knew me as well and felt like family to us. I am grateful to Maplewood for giving me the comfort of knowing my husband was well cared for during a difficult time for us.

I was very impressed with my visit to Maplewood. Compared to the other memory care communities, this was by far the best. The staff was very friendly and could answer all of my concerns. The property is clean and beautiful. It’s apparent that this property is well taken care of and that the employees care about it and the residents

I toured the whole facility and then looked at an independent room at Maplewood at Brewster. If money wasn't an object, I would move my mother there immediately. It's a beautiful facility. I can't say enough good things about it. For anyone that can afford it, I would highly recommend it. The woman who gave me the tour was wonderful. She could not have been nicer. Everything was very nice. It was built and finished to a very high standard. It was nicely done. I was very impressed.

Maplewood at Brewster has been fantastic regarding Assisted Living for my mother. She had lived in assisted living for the past five years. My mother was well cared for and kept safe during the most difficult times this past year. The nurses at Maplewood got to know my mother and her needs. They were supportive, knowledgeable, and kind. I had complete trust in their care, compassion, support, and love for her. Maplewood is a beautiful facility Her apartment was sunny with high ceilings. The maintenance staff was fantastic and fast when anything needed to be fixed. The dining room is a beautiful space for the residents to be together and eat. There are always many options for eating, and the food was delicious. The staff is fantastic, from the dining room servers to the daily concierge. They all took the time to get to know my mother and make personal connections with her. I am so grateful to all of the staff at Maplewood of Brewster.

The people at Maplewood at Brewster assisted living were very professional, the food is great, and my brother is very well taken care of. It's also very clean and has a nice setting. He's brain-damaged, so he may not take advantage of the activities, but they take people on trips to museums and outings. They have a theater there too with up-to-date movies. They have a pool, physical therapy, and exercise machines. They have a nice dining room where they get their 3 meals a day. For holidays, they have celebrations like how they had a St Patrick's Day evening where people get together, have poker games, and lots of different stuff. They coordinate the dinner theme with the activity that night. They have a walking group and exercise groups in the pool.

I went to Maplewood at Brewster. It's fairly new, everything is new. It's only a couple of years old, so I was very fairly disposed with it because everything was new. The staff was very thorough, she was a social worker, she gave me all the time I needed, and she was very good. I was very pleased with the rooms. I didn't have any food, but I did see people eating when I was there. It looks like a very nice dining experience. It had a secure outdoor area. They should be able to go inside and outside just like they would in their own home. But you have to have security. It has to be closed.

My brother has been living at Maplewood at Brewster since March 2019. He loves it there!! My siblings and I are so happy that he is at Maplewood!! What an outstanding, beautiful, CLEAN, residence this is!! I cannot emphasize enough how unbelievable the staff is!! From the Executive Director-Groundskeeper and every single person in between!! These people truly care about their residents!!! My brother is so happy there-and in turn we are at peace knowing that he is in a great place. The place is gorgeous!! Well planned, thought out facility in every way! Food is outstanding like a Michelin restaurant!! Not kidding!! His apartment is very large, for a studio. Cook top, microwave, and full fridge!! The activities are incredible so much to do-or residents can do nothing. (But why would you??!!) I cannot say enough about Maplewood at Brewster!! Go see it for yourself, and you will see that I am not exaggerating a single word in this review!! You will see for yourself!! Thank you ENTIRE Maplewood Family!! We are just so grateful for all, and what you have done for our brother!!!

From the first visit in October until now, May, we have been very happy with the entire Maplewood experience. The building and grounds are beautiful, the common areas are impressive and the rooms are large and comfortable. The staff is loving, caring, and helpful. The food is great, and the activities are good for the older crowd. The movie area is comfy and the movies are old and new classics. Even though the pandemic, the staff was working very hard to entertain the residents and encouraged them to participate in trivia, movies, lectures and games. We know what is happening all the time because the communication between Maplewood and families is excellent. We know that our father is in good hands and never worry about his needs not being met. We love Maplewood at Brewster!

Maplewood at Brewster has been amazing when it came to Assisted Living and then Memory Care for my mother. Maplewood is family and the staff are all outstanding! My mother has been well cared for and kept safe during the darkest of times this past year. I have had total faith in their care, compassion, love and support for her. She has been kept busy with lots of wonderful activities, cared for by the best and fed with delicious and nutritious meals. I really couldn't ask for more and I will be forever thankful and grateful to the staff at Maplewood of Brewster.

I cannot say enough about Maplewood at Brewster. The staff is warm and welcoming. The food is incredible and the difference in my Dad within just a month was incredible. My Dad is a retired Veteran, who is not very talkative but sweet. Living alone was not an option for him and he had become depressed. He was sitting too much due to lack or drive for interaction and activity.... and in chronic pain due to this. With no one to talk to he became more of a recluse and at first we thought he was becoming a tiny bit forgetful (I was terrified that this may be due to onset of Alzheimers). He did not require assistance (a level of care), but if he missed a meal they would check on him. The staff helped him socialize in the beginning so my fear of him sitting alone was quelled. I sleep better at night! I love him so and no longer worry. Dad moved into Maplewood. Within a month (yes, just a month), he was less pale, having meals with friends, walking better with an improved posture AND his memory improved as he began moving around a socializing. His mind, body and spirit were being exercised ;0) I work in the healthcare field so my standards are extremely high. Maplewood does not disappoint in terms of elder activities and embodies what assisted living should be. We consider everyone at Maplewood our extended family!

It is a genuine pleasure to thank the staff of Maplewood for the excellent care and service I receive during my post-operative stay from hip replacement surgery in May 2019. Knowing that the medical team at Cape Cod Orthopedics prefers that patients be released to their homes following surgery, I needed to make other arrangements for my post-op care. I live alone in a lovely Condo in Orleans with two flights of stairs. Unsure of my post-op health, I wanted to be somewhere where people would be available to assist me if I needed help with daily activities. Maplewood at Brewster offered the respite care I was looking for. Not only are housekeeping, Laundry service, and meals provided but staff was available to check in on me and help where I needed it. I met with members of the staff to describe the type of services we felt would be best for me in the situation. The dining service was excellent, with well balanced, delicious meals served by efficient and cheerful wait staff. The facility offers an extensive list of activities to provide diversity of programs for physical fitness, educational programs, entertainment and other programs that appeal to a variety of interests for the residents. Each and every team member quickly learned the names of their residents and greeted everyone by first names on a daily basis. The teams focus on the residents’ comfort was evident with the overwhelming satisfaction of everyone I met over the course of my stay. It was truly sad to leave all my new friends when it came to an end. I highly recommend the facility for anyone faced with a situation where respite care will enhance their lives. Thank you to everyone, Staff and residents, for making my post-op stay a wonderful time of my life. Leslie Pearson Orleans, MA

The rooms were spacious and beautiful. The staff was very outgoing and helpful when it came to my mother's needs. My mother spent a lot of time in activities socializing with other residents. Activities really helped my mother open up with the socialization. My mother loved the entertainers that came in. The food is very flavorful, i would often eat with my mother during meal times. I would highly recommend this community.
