My mother has been on their memory care unit for 8 years. The whole staff on the unit are very helpful and respectful, they would send updates to the family during the COVID waves. My mother always look well cared for, no skin issues, her room is neat and clean.

The care here is awful I saw residents looking and asking for help and cna’s walking right by them ignoring them, this place is awful the state needs to look into the help that they hire, not many understand English.

I have been living at Academy Manor for quite some time now & have no complaints. I love the activity programs here & I attend all of them. The staff is excellent by far. The food is fine. I would recommend it freely.... :)

My wife has been a resident at Academy Manor for a year and a half. While it was terribly sad to place her in a nursing home because of advanced Alzheimers I instantly felt comfortable. The staff is extremely caring they go above and beyond. The rooms are clean and the day areas as well. Food is very good and they plan plenty of activities. There is a beautiful patio for when the weather permits.

Don't think about it. I have waited anywhere from an hour to 3 hours, sitting in urine for someone to change me.,what I'm told "they don't have enough people"..tried complaining, doesn't do any good.it's really a shame they have some good people working here, but they are all afraid to speak up. At least that's how i see it...

My mom was at Academy Manor. It was nice, clean, and spacious but expensive. I felt that they don’t have a lot of staff to meet my mom’s and the other resident’s needs, but they were nice. One time when my mom had an allergic reaction, nobody noticed. It had a hospital feel. The problem was her room was not good because there were some mold in the closet.

I went to Academy Manor, and I liked it. I thought it was very homey especially for people in that age range. The bedroom was not very institutional looking. It looked like a regular bedroom. With the way it was set up, I was really impressed. The staff seemed very knowledgeable. I felt like I really had a good tour of the place there. They told me what the usual procedure with people who were in that unit. They had some smaller areas for people that might feel a little intimidated maybe by being with a larger amount of people. It was kind of like a little private dining area with a couple of tables. I thought that was nice because there was quite a bit of anxiety associated with Alzheimer's, and people were fearful of things. Everything seemed clean. They gave a rundown of what they do for activities, which they seemed to have a good variety for people to do.
