I visited this facility

I went to Annapolitan Assisted Living. The place was outstanding as far as cleanliness. It's a little more expensive. It's a very nice place. The dining room has tablecloths on the tables. It's a little upscale from the other place. They had semi-private and private rooms. They're very clean and very nice. The staff who showed me around was very helpful. He was very good. I considered moving my husband there, but he said no, and he wanted to stay where he was. I was there during the meals, and they're very good. Breakfast was excellent. They had choices. Like their Christmas meal, they had roast turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, lasagna, and a roll. And then they had cheesecake or regular pie or something else for dessert. They do a good job there. The chef was very good. The tour was great. The place was clean.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom has only been in Annapolitan Assisted Living for a week now. She's in memory care. She was not aware that she was going to be placed there, so it's been a very difficult transition for the entire family. However, what we liked about it was they made time for us to take a tour. Our group had to have an evening tour and they made sure that there was someone available to do that. The second thing we liked was when we toured the memory care facility, I was impressed by how the residents related to the person giving us the tour who happened to be the director of the whole Annapolitan. The caregivers were friendly, smiling, and happy. That was a key point for our decision to put our mom there. Also, the cost of the memory care as opposed to some other places that we had visited was more in line with what we were looking for. All of that together, that's what led to our decision to put her there. My mother's room is very nice. It is in memory care, so it is just a bedroom, a bed, a recliner chair, and a dresser. Her room does not have a shower. It does have a toilet and a sink, but there is a shower directly across from her that is larger. We are happy with it. We were able to paint it whatever color, and we can decorate it whatever way we would like. They have outings for the residents that the family is invited to attend as well. They have monthly family nights where the families all get together with all the residents in the building. They have dinners that we can go in whenever we want and have a meal with our mom. We're given a private dining room that we can go in. They have assigned seating and their own dining room. They have an activity director. They have activities all day long until after dinner. They have a beauty parlor right there for the ladies in the unit. They have a courtyard where they can go out to when the weather is nice. However, they have to be out with staff. They're not allowed to go out on their own into the courtyard, but it's a beautiful courtyard. The people that I have dealt with have been very communicative, very friendly, and pleasant. I know that my mom has been eating all three meals and a snack, which is better than what she was doing at home.

Look no further, this assisted living home is amazing! My mother lived in an assisted living facility prior to moving to Annapolitan Assisted Living, and while we are thankful that her prior facility kept her safe and cared for, her former assisted living experience was no comparison to the wonderful experience she has had at the Annapolitan. My mom has lived here for almost three years and I am always impressed by how professional the staff is, and how kind they are to my mother. Additionally, the activities director always has terrific parties for the residents and the residents’ family and friends, and they take residents on outings to restaurants, parks, and even Bowie Baysox baseball games. During the COVID pandemic, the facility manager was absolutely terrific in balancing the health needs of residents with their emotional need to see family and friends, and implemented common sense precautions to protect residents. The entire staff is top-notch, friendly and caring. If you are looking for a place for yourself or your loved one, the Annapolitan is a terrific choice!

I visited this facility

I went to Annapolitan Assisted Living. It's eight minutes from our house, so that was nice and they were lovely. The director and the staff seemed lovely. I liked them very much. It seemed they had a lot of activities. The apartments were small, just room for a single bed, or a double. The amenities were adequate and nice. There was a catholic church service going on, that was nice, and there were a lot of residents participating. It's not that fabulous, or a gorgeous place and the building on the outside is not very attractive. They did have a nice little garden area, but just pulling up, it's just kind of industrial looking. The residents looked well cared for, content, and happy.

Dad is approaching the third anniversary of arriving at The Annapolitan. I wrote a 5-Star review over a year ago, extolling the many virtues and high quality of life provided by Jim T. and his magnificent staff. We are further down the road now, long past any "honeymoon" period one might expect, and the quality and care and satisfaction is undiminished! The Annapolitan remains a care facility above any expectation. Dad was angry when we moved him from his home in Connecticut, but is very happy now. He is one quick-to-criticize, but I've never heard a complaint. This is remarkable and says everything you need to know.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My aunt is now at Annapolitan Assisted Living. It is a popular place and she loves it there. They take very good care of her. She is loving life; she really is. The big thing is, they're less than half the cost of the community where she was, and she gets the same level of care and the same service. It is also very clean. The staff is very friendly. The food is good. They have extracurricular activities. They have entertainment, bingo, and things that elderly people tend to enjoy. They're also available to take my aunt off-premise for doctors' appointments if need be. They knit, they sew, they do artwork, and they cut and paste things. They have things that keep them involved, things that keep their hands moving, and keep their minds sharp. They offer round-the-clock snacks. If you don't want a TV in your room, you can sit outside your room and watch TV. There are rest stations too, like I can go there to meet with my aunt without going into her room. They have outdoor facilities so that you can sit out in the sun or swing. They also have a hairstylist that comes in that does haircuts for the ladies. My aunt gets her hair done every week.

My mom moved into the Annapolitan, and it's a comfortable place. They have a bunch of activities, but she's too new to participate. The food is very good. It has a number of common areas, and a room for activities.

I visited this facility

Annapolitan is outstanding. The rooms are about the same, but the community is nicer and newer. Also their staff members are more professional and less of a sales person. They have trips out to the Goodwill Store. Their dining area is very nice and spacious. They have a separate dining room that you could use if you bring family in. Also they have a set schedule for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and I like that.

I visited this facility

Annapolitan is nice and clean, and it's older, but in nice condition. It's not too expensive like the rest, and it's right off the main road. The administrator was quite nice, and the staff was friendly and would answer questions.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Annapolitan has a 24-hour nursing staff and doctors on call, and it is more like home. My mother is in the area for dementia and Alzheimer's patients. They can decide what color of the room they want -- they'd paint it up and everything -- and they have their own showers. The food has two different menus that the clients can choose. It is very clean, and the staff is very affectionate, very nice, and very kind. I don't know what else to say; it is a very, very good place. My mother is a very feisty 92 year old woman, literally. She is very strong-willed, and she had given everybody hell wherever she was and no matter where she was, she never liked it. She is very paranoid and delusional, but she is calmer, and she is taking her meds, which nobody could get her to do. She even likes the place and that for her, since June, is good because usually she gets about two, three weeks in then she hates everything about it. This is the first place that she has really liked.
