I toured The Glen Stiles apartments. It's a very nice area. They have areas where they can play games. I know they had more than bingo, they had something like chair tennis. They had many activities that we passed by that they showed us that my aunt could use, and a lot of rooms for activities. The apartment was very small, but it was nice. It was clean. The thing I can say about the Stiles that I like is if you moved into independent care, if you eventually needed assisted living, then you would stay in your room where you were and then they would just send you the help that you need for assisted living. You would not have to move out of your room.

Our tour of The Glen Stiles Apartments was conducted very professionally, and they showed us what they had to offer. The staff was very accommodating. We looked at a 1-bedroom apartment because my wife wanted to be able to cook. We liked everything that we saw.

Some neglect first few months my relative lived here. After Covid hit, lots of neglect, then LOTs of untruths. My relative passed away and the neglect and untruthfulness all came out. Do not trust anything anyone there says.

I toured several places in Shreveport/Bossier I really liked the looks and feel of this place. The people that lived there were laughing and having a good time. It really felt like a home, small and comfortable, We could see the lady preparing the lunch and it smelled wonderful. It was clean and all the employees were friendly and smiling. The administrator was compassionate and reassuring. Even though my sister and I realized that our Mother was past the assisted living level we were given some helpful advice on nursing home and who to speak with. We both wished that our Mother was so advanced in her disease.

My mother has been in Wheless Foundation Cottage since 2011. She was not an easy person for many of those years, but the staff was and is patient and understanding with her. When she was living on her own, she was literally starving, as she wouldn't remember to eat. She has gained weight at The Cottages and now looks quite healthy, with color in her cheeks. After she was persuaded to get her hair done at the little beauty shop there, she always looks well put together. I should note that the staff is able to get her to do things -- such as getting her hair done -- that I couldn't.. I want to point out that in the time my mother has been a resident, the director position has changed. Libby, the current director, has instituted many more activities for residents. I live out of town, but when I show up -- without giving prior notice -- the residents are almost always involved in an activity or an entertainment. Yes, there may occasionally be dust underneath the bed, but my mother is always well-dressed and neat, and most importantly, she is comfortable and content at The Cottages. It's a huge relief to me to know that she is in such excellent hands.

My family and I had been looking and looking for some place for my Mom, her memory had become so bad that we all knew that she must go somewhere but it Is still such a hard decision. My Brother and I visited the Cottages and felt at home, and the director told us to follow our hearts. She said as we walk around and I introduce you to the residents see if you can imagine her here and fitting in. And you know as we walked around I could see just that my mother fitting right in. And for the first time since we started this process we felt better. My Mother moved in and is happier than I have seen her in years. The staff is wonderful and loving. I will go by to visit Mom and she will tell me I love your visits but I have to go its time for Art........Which tells me that she is at home and happy.

This is the most remarkable place that I have ever been in. My sister and I toured several places in this area. The staff is amazing, the place was spotless the lunch that was cooking smelled wonderful. The residents were all happy and you could tell was well taken care of. I put my mother here when her memory made it unsafe for her to live by herself any longer. This was a decision that my sister and I had a very hard time with. But the director was great she made us feel much better. Every time that I visited I was just amazed at the compassion and love the staff clearly had not just for my mother but all the residents. They had some really fun activities and they could get my mother to do so much more than she had done in years and she was so much happier there than she had been in such a long time. We were also given the directors personal cell to call anytime even if we were just needing to talk. I was looking at some of these reviews and was shocked but from being to the Cottages I know that my family had a great experience and would put another loved one there in a heart beat. Mom passed away peacefully in her sleep and I could see the loss in the eyes of the employees there and I know that they truly loved my mom. Don't just read this stuff on here go by the Cottages and see for yourself.

This place is the Most HORRIBLE place I have ever encountered. The " assisted living " at The Cottages is totally " non-assisted". They merely do what the choose to do and there is NO supervision! The aids are cepletely in control. One resident died and they did not call the coroner's office until the following day. Disgusting!

The Stiles Apartments were pretty good. The staff who assisted us in the tour were really good. We saw everything and it was real good but we couldn't afford the rates.

The Glenn retirement home/ assisted living facility is one of the nicest of its kind in Shreveport, LA. When I would enter the premises, I always felt safe and secure, for myself and for my loved one. The front entryway always has people enjoying the outside and feeding the ducks, and it is always nice to be greeted by them. The amenities that the patients or residents use always seem clean and safe. There are plenty of group activities, like bingo and dancing, for the residents to enjoy. Some days, volunteers bring ice cream around to the people that are allowed to have sugar, and it really makes some of the residents' days. The staff is always kind and courteous, and I can tell that starts from the top as well. My only complaint is that the inside sometimes looks a little too much like a hospital. It would really benefit from more artwork, even though it already has some. All around, The Glenn is a wonderful place for loved ones, and I know my grandmother greatly enjoyed living there.

AS FAR AS I SAW EVERYTHING WAS GREAT ABOUT THE PLACE. THE ONLY NEGATIVE THING I COULD SAY AND THIS IS NIT PICKING BUT IF IM DYING IN A SMALL ROOM WITH ANOTHER ELDERLY PERSON I WOULD BE NITPICKING IF I COULD SPEAK...I WOULD LIKE TO PASS IN A ROOM THAT'S NOT DEPRESSING AND BEIGE...FOR A PERSON THAT NEVER SMOKED, NEVER DRANK, EXERCISED, PRAIDSED THE LORD, EAT HEALTHY, AND HAD A TON OF FOSTER CHILDREN IN WHICH SHE DIDN'T ABUSE...SHE DESERVED NOT TO DIE IN FRONT ON A TINY TV ON LPB IN A BEIGE BRICK PRISON...I JUST WISH I HAD BEEN OLD ENOUGH AND HAD THE MONEY TO CHANGE THINGS

The Cottages are a serene living environment for adults with memory needs. The staff is friendly, the environment is elegant. However, housekeeping is poor. Rooms are dusty. Belongings and dust accumulate under the resident's bed. There appear to be very limited activities for residents. Occasional reading time or an outside volunteer for music, entertainment. Multiple items of clothing lost and not recovered. Little stimulation/activities lead to agitated behavior to include breaking hangers, pictures and other belongings...an agitated mind. In her new residence, none of these destructive behaviors occur because she is so busy & kept active. There are much better places for the amount of money you will pay at the Glen. Look around.
