Beautiful community! We felt like part of the family as soon as we walked in. After touring several assisted living communities, none of them compared to Garden View. It's the best!

I love Garden View! From the moment you walk in this community, it's like being in a hotel. The staff is amazing, caring and truly love their job! The residents are always happy, visiting each other or in the dining room drinking coffee. The place is beautiful and the yard, especially the courtyard is immaculate. I visited there frequently and I would move here in a heart beat. I would recommend this place over any other place 110%!

My father-in-law was living for approximately 7 years in Garden View Assisted Living in New Iberia. We were happy with the Garden View for about 6 years, then they changed the management first of March. And we became very unhappy with it. Their attitude went drastically downhill. March 5th, Garden View started neglecting his care that he was paying for. He had a room with nice large windows. He liked it and wanted to stay there. But after a couple of weeks, it seemed like they’re purposely trying to force him out. They sent us a letter saying that they were terminating the agreement and the rest of the charge. We got a 30 days’ notice to vacate. We contacted an advocate agency and they assigned an attorney to us. Based on the evidence, she believed that we should stay at Garden View and she was fighting for him to be there. After several weeks, they were alleging that he was having bowel movements all over his apartment. Based on an independent source, there were occasionally little feces on the toilet whereas the management of Garden View was stating that he was getting feces all over himself, all over the bathroom and all over the apartment. After 2 weeks of more of abuse, he decided he doesn’t want to stay there anymore. We started arranging for him to be in a nursing home. They have filed us all claims because after he moved to the nursing home he had a number of books that weren’t moved and left on the floor and a few personal items. All the furniture was moved and we had an email from the previous director, Sally that they would clean up the apartment with no charge and not to worry about it. The director says that the agreement was only the removal of all personal items. Because some books and some clothing were left there, it was beyond. The Garden View Living was trying to collect from him 2 months of whole rental because of these few minimal items that was left in the apartment. A year ago we were recommending it highly but today we wouldn’t recommend it.

Garden View is superior; it was excellent. The environment was beautiful, there’s a fireplace in the lobby, and it was very nice. They have a lot of activities, and their schedule is very full. The staff was very helpful and very wonderful. The apartments were very nice. We saw one, and it was very spacious. I heard the food was good but did not taste it. The dining room was beautiful. They also offered things off the menu, they had snacks all the time, coffee in the lobby, bananas, oranges, and apples.

The owners of Garden View were members of our church and my husband gets to give communion over there just about every Sunday until he had a stroke. I think it's an excellent place and one of the better facilities. It's only a few years old, and really very nice.
