I am in the rehab section of Golden LivingCenter - Frankfort. It's an older facility, but it's well-maintained and properly staffed. The nurses are excellent. If an issue comes up, medical or otherwise, they're quick to resolve it. There are two people in each room. The rehab facility is equipped with cable television. There are daily events to keep residents busy. They go on outings, church groups visit. They have bingo and exercise clubs. A beautician comes here to do women's hair.

My mother had rehab at Golden LivingCenter in Frankfort and it was good. However, the food was horrible and the place was dirty and smelled of urine. I had to get them to come in and clean my mom's room before I could even leave her in there. The staff did the best they could and nobody was mean to her. The rehab people were very nice.

My mother is currently in the hospital because of a fall. She broke her hip and will need some therapy to get her strong enough to go home. My husband and I visited Bradford Square and Golden Living. The admissions director at Bradford took me into a room and drilled me questions. I felt like they were hiding something about their nursing home. Afterwards, I went to Golden Living. The admissions person immediately took me on a tour to show me around, she acknowledged residents by name and introduced me to the nurses. The rooms were small, but the therapy gym was huge. I was very pleased with the tour and felt like they were very transparent. Hopefully my mother can get a bed at this nursing home until she can go home again.

My mom is now in Golden Living Centers. She's doing well, and she is actually where she needs to be. Honestly, my niece works at the nursing home area. So, by that relationship, we are very much aware of the nursing and the people that work in it. That pretty much is the main reason why we selected it. The biggest thing, actually, is the staff. In general, they are very caring. When she was initially placed there, we had meetings regularly to talk about how she was doing and how she was responding to the therapy that she was having at that time. They make you feel very comfortable and make you feel you are part of the actual staff there. They value our opinions. They are very accepting of both my mother and my family. They are very positive and supportive to me and my family. They take time to listen and answer all the questions that we have. The rooms are double, so they have two beds in a room. They tend to match the roommates. If they have an issue with one roommate, they are very open to move her to a different room. They offer a full range of therapy, whic is very extensive, and they offer a lot of services to her. So she is able to have as much therapy as she needs. She has speech and physical therapy. My mom is happy there, and that makes a big difference to us.

I recently visited an old friend who is now a resident of the Golden Livingcenter located in Frankfort, Kentucky. It is an understatement to say that I was not very pleased with this facility what so ever. I was disappointed that my dear friend now lives in an establishment where people do not seem to care about him. That is exactly what I observed of this staff, they seemed to only care about getting a check and getting home to do their business. Several staff members were rude to not only my friend, but to me as well. I was trying to ask an aide a quick question, and she simply walked out of the room in the midst of me asking. I have never been anywhere that I felt more unwelcome, it was simply unreal. Furthermore, the rooms are very small to the point that it is uncomfortable to even move around. They are also dirty and poorly maintained, the whole place had a nasty oder to boot. I would not send anyone to this place and I hope that my friend will leave soon enough.

Golden Living is one of the worst nursing homes I have even been in. It smells and they lie to family. When my father was in there I stopped by at different assorted times, and there was always some kind of problem going on.
