My husband was at Bluegrass at Elizabethtown. The layout is good. It feels pretty homey. There are a lot of places a family can come and sit with the residents. I met staff on both shifts, also on weekdays and weekends, and everyone seemed to care about the residents. There's a nice outdoor area that everyone in the memory care can walk in safely. It's open but it only has one door, so you have to go in and out the same door. I've seen the menu and I saw the food and it looked good. I was very happy about this place because it is six miles from my home, so it's very close to me.

I have a friend who stayed at Bluegrass Assisted Living in Elizabethtown KY. We were very dissatisfied with her care there. After just a short time there, we had to move her to another facility due to the lack of care she recieved.. Missed medicines and no one responding to call button for help were some of the major issues.

I want to thank this assisted living for the care they gave my Mother in law. Everyone was always helpful kind to us. They treated her always with respect. Her room was always clean she was clean. The place never had a bad smell to it. Her Caretenders were great always helpful when we need something or to help us with her. I know some days they were overwhelmed, but that can happen to all of us. When she passed they were very respectful helped us with what was needed. They are like a lot of places short handed but they alway did their best. We were never there at the same time. We were there when there was a fire drill and it was all handle great. We can’t say anything bad about this place. There is no place perfect, but I am grateful she was there and was well taken care of. We were in the memory unit, and it can be very busy back there. Thank you for all you all did for her and also us.

Not safe or place. Do not place your loved ones here. If you have a loved one here, check on them daily! Cannot recommend due to what I witnessed for the memory care portion of the place. They do not give meds on time and some times not at all! Patients fall and call for help and no one responds. A visitor had to get help for a fallen patient who called for help repeatedly and no one came. This place is woefully understaffed. Some caregivers seemed really sweet but overwhelmed and unable to provide quality care, also not adequately trained to take care of basic medical needs. The administration is unacceptable. Activities and routine are not provided for those that need care.

Bluegrass Assisted Living was very nice and we enjoyed the people very much. The people there kind of have their own freedom. They could come and go as they please, which was a good thing. They had a refrigerator in the room if they wanted to put some of their own stuff in there. They had good-sized rooms, and they could put their own furniture in there. I didn't see anything where they had a lot of restrictions and I liked that about their place because you don't want to have a lot of things you can't do. The staff who gave me the tour was wonderful. They had a hairdresser or a barber and they came once a week or once a month. There were things I still didn't know about the place, but I didn't find anything to complain about. The staff did a good follow-up, too. The dining area looked adequate. It was spacious, as far as I could see.

We were not impressed with Bluegrass Assisted Living - Elizabethtown. My overall impression, when we toured, was that it was very unkept and very outdated. We realized that was not a good place for my friend. They need a total remodel of the place. However, it's in a good location. It's near restaurants and it's very central to the city.

My mom moved into Bluegrass Assisted Living - Elizabethtown. It seems pretty nice, very neat, and very clean. They do a pretty good job, they just have aides there, and they're very helpful and very friendly. The activities would probably be my complaint. They don't have much for the patients on the memory care side. They do have a few things. They have days when they do their fingernails. But as far as something to keep their minds busy, there's not been a whole lot for that. I'm not impressed with the food either. I frequently eat with my mom there, and it's not very tasty. They have a room where there are puzzles, but most of them can't work on a puzzle. Maybe I'm not quite as happy as I thought I was. I was getting ready to have a talk with the director about trying to come up with some other activities for the place, because a lot of people are trying to get out of there. They're frequently setting off the alarms that they have in place for them. I think if they weren't as bored, if they had more things to keep them busy then, they might not be trying to get out all the time.

We visited Bluegrass Assisted Living - Elizabethtown and my dad talked to some of the people there, but he wasn't impressed with it. I thought it was wonderful. I didn't see anything wrong with the facility. The only thing is on the side where he would be, there's not a lot of staff. The grounds looked good. Considering the time of year that we went, the grass, the trees, and everything are dead. But you can tell they have shrubbery all around, and it was clean. It wasn't junky. The people who assisted us were great. They were very helpful and very friendly, and they were not pushy at all. There wasn't any activity going on because they had just finished lunch and they were going back to their rooms. We saw the arts and crafts room, and the garden. They had a couple of common rooms. They had a beautiful fireplace when we first walked in. We sat there and talked to two of the residents.

We moved my mom into Bluegrass Assisted Living - Elizabethtown. They're supposed to check on the residents every 2 hours, and are times I would be there, and nobody would come by. So, I don't feel like they were checking in on people the way that they said they were. Some of the staff were very friendly, but there was other staff that we had issues with. They're getting involved in family things that they shouldn't have gotten involved in. We had to contact the owner to put a stop to it. There were always serving soup. And I never saw them doing anything. I know that they would go to church on Sundays, and they have an area where they would do church services.

My mother-in-law moved into Bluegrass Assisted Living - Elizabethtown. They seem to be good with her and in working with her. She said the food was good. They have a beauty salon, an exercise room, and a game room. The facility is pretty clean and smells good in there. It is like in a neighborhood, and there are apartments around. It's more of a home kind of place.

My mom has moved into Bluegrass. She has a private room with a bed, a chair, and her own bathroom, so that's good. They do activities, exercise with their legs while sitting down, and have church on Sunday. The nursing staff members are all friendly and helpful. My mom enjoys the food.

I visited my grandmother who lives here, The employees seem happy & are friendly! The place looked clean & just seemed cozy. My other family members like visiting there & said the food is good. Grandma seems happy & especially likes talking to other people at the meals. Her room holds a lot of her furniture & other things. She has her own bathroom with a big shower. There are TV's everywhere so they can watch TV with their friends. There is a fireplace where people were sitting around & talking, It's a very nice place!

My mother has been at Bluegrass for nearly 3 years. When she went in we were not sure if they could handle some of her difficult ways. But they were patient and worked with her and us and now my mother’s is svery happy there. It sure my our lives better. The family is always welcome. We are very happy.

My mother has been a resident for over a year and she finds the staff very caring and attentive. It is reassuring to her to know that all her needs are met and she no longer has to do laundry, cooking or cleaning or being responsible for taking her meds. She enjoys the activities and would enjoy doing even more of them. It is a place where friendships are developed and the residents care for each other.

Bluegrass Assisted Living seems to understand what my father's needs are. Overall, the staff is very polite and very cordial, they follow up with me, and they seem to be committed. They have a 1-bedroom, and then they have a studio apartment that has all in one -- living area, sleeping, bathroom, and closet. They would probably do better if they could have some more activities. The community is in a good location, and the grounds are nice.
