We picked out Mom's apartment at Shawnee Hills Senior Living. The place is very nice, the apartment is very nice, the amenities are very good, and the buildings are very nice. The people are nice and the food is good. They had her eat a meal with them, and it was very good. The staff members who gave the tour were very friendly, and very good in giving all the information. They were all very accommodating and very nice. They provide everything for them. They have a response team, they provide them a pendant, and somebody sits down at the front door 24/7. So I was impressed with that.

My mother was in Shawnee Hills for four years. She did just fine there. However, she had fallen and broken her back, so she won't be in an independent living ever again. She hated the food the entire almost four years, but she liked her apartment. When Covid started last year, they fired their director and their program director within a week of each other, and there was no one on premise for over six weeks that you can talk to about anything. I wouldn't recommend it to anybody. It was not modern or updated, but it was clean. The kitchenette was so small, and they had to get her refrigerators replaced numerous times during her stay there.

I did a quick tour of Shawnee Hills Senior Living. It was comparable to everyone else, and it seemed to have plenty of space and nice facilities. The staff was very friendly, informative, and not a high-pressure sell. They have a library, but they dont have a swimming pool.

I really liked Shawnee Hills. The lady who showed me around was very friendly and very nice. Their dining room was very bright and cheery. I had lunch there, and the food was very good. The rooms were more open and nice. They had the same activities as other places, like dances, happy hours, bingo, and art classes. I liked the place, the rooms, and the people. It was great. The residents were very friendly. However, I didn't like the location. It was clearly out in a more rural area of Kansas City, so it is not around things that I like to do and the activities I enjoy doing.

Shawnee Hills Senior Living was very nice but very expensive. The community seemed to be fairly active. I know a couple of people who were residents there and were quite happy. All of the staff was quite competent, friendly, and interested in procuring extra help and extra residents. They offered shopping trips and transportation to and from doctors' offices. They had a waiting room. The food was very good. It’s like dining in any medium-priced restaurant.

I liked Shawnee Hills the most. It was my favorite. It was away from the hustle and bustle and seemed to be a little more open-minded about who stayed there and the price. I liked the rooms. They had a good variety of different types of rooms and eating hours. I liked it a lot.

This facility has consistently exceeded my expectations in every way. My opinion is that most current residents share my feelings regarding this facility and staff.

This is one of the only meetings of this sort that I attended. The whole staff does a great job in helping to unite area aging groups. I have a former neighbor as a resident here and they love the place.

I loved my home but I cant imagine moving back home alone and not having all these things to do; with all the help and advice available. I wanted to ease my kids' minds. I know they think I am safe here and I feel safe and I am as content as I have ever been. The staff is capable and creative!

Shawnee Hills is a beautiful place. The apartments are really nice. The woman that I met took a lot of time to show me the facility and help me out. She had me stay for lunch there, which was really nice because my mother was a very limited eater. It was a wonderful visit, and it would be a nice place for my mother to live at, but we just cannot afford it. It would have been a very perfect location for us because it's in an area where my mother is familiar with. They seem to have a lot of things going on for the residents. They encourage them to socialize outside of their apartments. The staff knew the people by name, and I can see that it’s friendly place. They have bingo, movies, and puzzles set up. They have a lot little library where you could take books out or you can also donate books to the library. They have a bus that would take the residents out of outings like grocery shopping. The dining room was really nice. When you move in, you are allowed to take two meals a day there. You could do breakfast or lunch. They have everything that I would have loved to have for my mother except for their price tag.

We just moved my mother to Shawnee Hills last week. We really like it, and she likes it. The food is great. They have a lot of different activities like trips, doctor's appointments, bingo, and a happy hour with a band once a week. It's a very clean and nice place, and the people are nice. I would recommend them.

I visited Shawnee Hills Senior Living. It was well kept, nice, and clean. The rooms were OK and of adequate size. The people were friendly. I have eaten there quite a few times, and the food is very good. You have a lot of choices, so I have no complaints about the food. They have a lot of activities, like trips or shopping; all kinds of things. I like this place.

My mom lived at Shawnee Hills Senior Living for about six months before she passed away. The staff were very helpful during her stay. The rooms are really nice. The food was excellent and they have several different activities.
