We chose Heritage Woods of Noblesville for mom because they accept a Medicaid waiver. The facility is very nice and very clean. It's only a five-year-old facility, so it was very nice and updated. The staff is very professional and very kind. They took time to answer questions and I was very impressed with them. Mom is in the memory care and they have an activity where they had a badminton-type fly swatter hitting a balloon. On Easter, they were coloring Easter eggs and things like that.

What I liked the most about Heritage Woods of Noblesville was that it was very nice inside and that it had a very friendly community-like setting. It was a fairly new building. I looked at a studio and a one-bedroom. The one-bedroom was very roomy. It reminded me very much of the apartment my mom used to live in. It felt very homey. I thought the staff was excellent. The person who gave me the tour was the director of marketing and sales, and he was very knowledgeable and helpful. The dining area was really nice. I was impressed with the way they had it set up. The residents have a menu that they can order from. They are served like they are at a restaurant. At the time, the hair salon was open. There were quite a few people getting their hair cut or styled. I also saw an aromatherapy activity, where they were getting a hand massage with scented essential oils.

I'm moving into Heritage Woods of Noblesville. It's within a walking distance of fast-food places and shopping strips. It's in a very busy area on a very busy highway, but it's not on the highway. It sits back several hundred yards. It was within walking distance of businesses. It's a very nice-looking place. The apartment was not overly large, but it was larger than some of the other places I've been. I didn't get a chance to talk to many of the people that are living there, but the people that are working there were nice. The dining area was nice. It was a quiet place. I was there during the weekday and on the weekends, and it was kind of quiet. They also have a courtyard you can go out into. Every place you go has activities and things like that. The other thing was, it's within 10 minutes of my granddaughter who's my power-of-attorney and custodian. That's the reason why we first looked at it and picked it. I just saw a printout of activities. They have cards, bingo, and church services for various churches, and I know that they will bring in entertainment from time to time. We really didn't go into too much detail because that's not a factor to me. They have a library, a game room, and a cooking area, so if you want to do some cooking for your family, you can do that. It's a full kitchen and a dining area. They also have a private area off of the dining area that seats 10 or 12 people. It's very nicely decorated and they have servers that wait on you, and they also serve you at lunchtime. It's not a cafeteria; it's a dining area.

I went to tour Heritage Woods of Noblesville. In the memory care unit, there appeared to be a little more interaction with the patients. They were not just sitting in a chair, taking a nap, or anything. They were up and about talking. Some of them were working on crafts together, and a couple of them were working on puzzles. Many of them appeared to be out of their rooms and doing something. And I thought that was important to have interactions, to have them doing something other than sitting in their rooms, so that impressed me. It appeared to be clean. They allowed them to put some kind of identification mark on their doors like decorating it or something, so they knew which room was theirs. Many of them did their own that they wanted on the doors. One patient they discovered could paint, and he has done some beautiful, beautiful work. He didn't know he could paint, nor did his family know that he could paint. They're simple little pictures, but I was quite impressed. They have hung them in the hall for a little bit more decorations, so that's how I was impressed. I did not try the food, but I did see the menu. There was a nice variety. They had their choice of two. They had a very nice outdoor space. It was secure. They had chairs out there and things that they could sit on. They also had a couple of garden spots that a few people wanted to take a look at.

Heritage Woods of Noblesville was very rigid in their rules and very expensive, they were priced out of the market. It's a nice new facility but it isn't elegant and attractive like where we ended up. The architecture is more of what you would expect in a hotel while the one we ended up with was homey. The Heritage Woods is stiffer and more sterile. It's certainly new, clean, well-built, and has all the amenities, but it's just not homey and I wanted to find a home. The staff was very professional but it's corporately run so their hands were tied and they didn't have a lot of authority. They're good people, competent, professional, but corporate dictated all of their answers. They were first-rate but handicapped by corporate rules.

We toured Heritage Woods of Noblesville. The apartment they had was sizable. They had a workout room with some equipment in it. They were sociable, and it was a pleasant visit. The apartment has not been lived in yet, it had no furniture in it, it was brand new, so it was clean. The facility was brand new and clean. It had a nice dining hall and kitchenette. Being that there is no furniture in the apartment, it did not seem homey to me, it was more institutional. They had a barbershop and a salon. There were several people moving around pretty good. The one thing we liked was that they had a courtyard in the middle of the place where you can go out and congregate with people in the spring and summer.

The rooms and facility is beautiful and spacious. The issue with this facility, is for an assisted living facility, they do absolutely no assisting. The communication with staff is horrendous. The treatment of people living there is horrible. Staff picks and chooses who they take care of and who they don’t. I highly recommend that if you have a family member that needs assisted living this is definitely NOT the place to go! Avoid this facility at all costs.

My father is in Heritage Woods of Noblesville. He hasn't been super happy there so far. They didn't come up with a care plan when he first moved in, so he's not happy with the care. With COVID happening, we're trying to learn if it's COVID related, or happened before COVID even started. I would like more communication. Whenever I tried to call the administrator he would never call me back. The food was fine before COVID, but when COVID happened he complained about the food a lot. It's a nice facility, clean, and doesn't smell bad, and it's like staying in a hotel.

Heritage Woods of Noblesville is wonderful, very nice, and it's quite new. We're the first ones to stay in the apartment we got, so it's very nice. They have great food and great people. There's something going on all the time. They also have movies. It's perfect for what we needed, and it's everything we could want.
