I've been here at Independence Village of Fishers East for a year and a half now. The staff is great. They have activities here for us and those are great, very well thought out and very enjoyable. The food is very good. I'm really happy I've moved to a place like this. They're set up to handle seniors very well. I am a senior and so I thoroughly enjoy it. They have a lot of activities geared towards seniors. Since I've come here, I started dancing. I've danced with a number of people, even in wheelchairs and walkers and even on oxygen. The staff all seem to be very interested in the people here. The activity director is very good and she has a lot of activities for us. I live in independent living, so I can either involve myself in the activities or if you don't want to, if you just want to use an apartment, that's fine. The food is excellent. They have a menu and you get your choice on the menu. They have at least two items for every category and sometimes more. For example, they have the dessert or you can get ice cream or fruit. It's a well-balanced meal. Maintenance and housekeeping are excellent. They take care of things if we have any problem. The grounds are always kept up very nice. I get out and I walk quite a bit. There's a lake close to us and I walk around that lake. It's very nice. There's a hospital right next door. They have a bus, which they take people on trips. For example, I was down for the 4th of July and saw the activities down there. They have a car, too, if you're just going to a doctor appointment or something of that sort. You can make appointments for transportation, which is nice for me. Value for money is very good.

I've been in Independence Village of Fishers East since it opened, which is almost seven years. I've seen a lot come and go. I know these people bought this place not too long after I moved in, but it just isn't the same. I understand the people working here have their limits. They can't make a lot of decisions on their own and it's caused it to be not quite as efficient. It is not the same quality that I was used to when I moved in. The young lady that's here now, Mira, is new, but she's wonderful. I really, really, really like her. The team that runs our entertainment is very understaffed and it seems like they expect just two people to run it and all the assistants that we've had lately have all left. They're trying to get it all done with as less people as they can get by with. I only know a few of the staff. We've got a very large place here. The two that I find absolutely irreplaceable is our maintenance lady, Amanda. She's been here as long as I have. I just pray she never leaves. The other one is Karen. She has also been here since I have and she doesn't have enough help at all. If Karen and Amanda ever leave, in my opinion, they'd have to shut the doors down. That's how invaluable at least these two are. The food has changed, and some days are better than others. I realize that Scott, our chef, also is not able to make a lot of changes. His hands are tied, but they try. The food has gone down considerably. I prefer their lunches. I can have lunch and dinner, but it's rather monotonous and there are a lot of things I've never heard of. We don't even know what they are. It just isn't what I was used to when I moved in. Maintenance and housekeeping are both right now perfect. We have a new lady doing housekeeping, Jess, and she's absolutely wonderful. She really can't be beat, too. She's another one of my favorites here. We have a monthly sheet of everything that's going on. They work very, very hard to do this, but they've got less and less people to help. The people that run this whole monthly thing are great, but they're overworked. I have a good contract because I am one of the first ones here. It can only be raised so much, not as much as the others that are just moving here. It's kind of stable for me, and I'm extremely pleased with that. The place is nice and I don't have any qualms about the looks of it or what they have. I love my apartment. It's one of the nicest ones here. It looks like my home and I take very good care of it. I've had a lot of compliments on it, and I'm very comfortable here.

I'm in Independence Village Fishers East. We have some problems, but they're being worked on. The workers are good, and their attitude is good. They're pleasant and most of them say hello. They do their job well. I'm happy with them. The food could be improved. It usually tastes good, but the cooking leaves a lot to be desired, like the vegetables are cooked until they're really soft. They use too much salt for people that are usually on a low-salt diet. The food as it comes is not always like it's addressed in the menu. They don't keep the painting up-to-date, with chips and marks on the walls. The carpet is very outdated and not clean. The colors are good. They're either tan or gray. The accessories that they put out, benches and dressers along the hallway, are very, very nice. We have an ant problem in the spring and they bring a maintenance team out for that but that doesn't always take care of it. They have a lot of activities. They have bingo, many different kinds of cards, a happy hour, they bring in entertainment several times a week, cooking lessons, and lectures from different experts on the subject. My only concern with the activities is we don't have enough staff to cover everything. Sometimes activities are canceled because we've only got two people in the activity department and they're not enough to cover everything that's scheduled. That's not their fault. It's corporate's fault. If I had a house or another kind of apartment where all the amenities aren't included, I would be paying almost as much as I am here. The good thing is you've got camaraderie and friendship. It's like a big family. It's been good for me to move in here, to be around people, because I'm a widow and I was living alone, and that's the case with a lot of residents here. Most of them moved here because their children were close by. I think I get enough bang for my buck, although some people pay a lot higher than I do and I don't know that they get as much bang for their buck.

We're at Independence Village Fishers East. The staff is great. They are giving of their time, and they're engaged. The food is good. We have meals on time. Maintenance and housekeeping are excellent. They do exercise, meet and greet, and bingo, and those are all excellent. It's just a little expensive.

I'm in Independence Village Fishers East. There are some things that could be better, but overall, it's a very, very good place. The staff is very caring. The servers in the dining room are mostly teenagers or young 20s, and they're delightful and they seem to enjoy us, so that's a good thing. The housekeeper I have right now is excellent. Her name is Jesse. She's the best I've had since I've been here. All of them are good, all the way to Mira, who's the director. She's very good, very friendly, warm and caring. I think she really does care about people here. I'll give her a high mark. The food is better by far than most places like this. The chef makes excellent soups and also desserts are really good. The building is very well cared for. The housekeeping crew is good. The building is attractive when you come in. There are always seasonal decorations and it's very inviting. There are many activities every day that you can become part of if you want to, and then if you don't want to, if you want to just be by yourself, you just stay in your apartment and that's fine, too. I just came from a St. Patrick's Day tasting of Irish food and the singer has a very good voice. The programs are good. They've raised the price so much and it always goes up. We've had people leave because they couldn't afford to live here. I've been here three-and-a-half years and the first two years were a good value. The next two is a little sketchy. Our van driver is exceptional. He works so hard at making sure that anybody who writes up a request for a doctor's appointment will get it. It's just a reassuring thing, especially to my children, knowing that I have a way to get to the doctor's appointments that I need to go to. His name is Matt and he is really, really good.

Exceptional Care and a Warm Community My parents have lived in Independence Village East of Fishers for the past eight months and have had a good experience with the staff, facility, amenities, activities, and location. The staff is a highlight. A community can’t work without caring and dedicated staff, and I am incredibly thankful for individuals in each area. From the moment we walked into the facility to see what they had to offer, my parents and I were their top priority, which has continued ever since. The staff connects with my parents and shows they genuinely care. They are observant, and I am always informed of any concerns in a professional manner. They understand their needs and offer solutions with warmth and compassion. Many thanks to Jamison, Jamal, Mira, Perry, Chanel, Susan, Austin, Amanda, Haley, Hannah, and many others. Amenities related to healthcare have enhanced their physical and mental health. Onsite, they offer physical, occupational, and speech therapies. The fitness center is well-equipped and is professionally staffed. The escort services for social activities and meals are essential to help build friendships and support groups. Both types of services have improved my father’s quality of life tremendously. The community is well-maintained and has a pleasant atmosphere. The shared spaces are numerous, allowing quiet spaces to read or play games with a small group. The larger spaces allow for large group activities. The activities are unique and vary. There are so many I wish I could attend! The location is undoubtedly a big plus, with its proximity to the IU Saxony Hospital and professional building with doctors, shipping, restaurants, and a park. Overall, we are pleased that we chose Independence Village East, Fishers.

My mother loves it here. She settled in very well and after just a few weeks had made lots of friends. She's always so busy we can't ever seem too catch her on the phone. They have a lot of fun activities, movies, games and pretty much anything you can think of to do. The apartments are nice and it's the perfect size, with plenty of room for a wheel chair or walker. The common areas of the facility are well kept and just like any other property of this size, they're always working on it to keep it clean and well managed. The staff are wonderful and very friendly. They're like part of the family now. The nurses are friendly and receptive. The wait staff in the dining rooms are just wonderful. They're very helpful and provide service with a smile and gentle spirit. The food is much better than hospital food and prepared with thought and care. I'm thrilled that our mother is staying in such a great place and is so happy. Thank you all so very much for caring for our very loved mother.

I toured Independence Village of Fishers East. It was very nice. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice everything was. It's going to be way over our price range. We just can't do that. The staff was very professional, and inviting, and they explained everything. The rooms are very small.

My tour at Independence Village of Fishers East was very good. Stephanie was the tour guide, and she was very good. The only thing that I was really upset over was the fact that they got our money, and then after that, they did an evaluation on my husband and said, 'Well, he's not able to come in.' I think that they should have done it the other way around. And then they told me that it would take 4 to 6 months to get my money back. A long time ago my husband told me this if you don't get any results from complaining to the lower echelon, go to the very top, so that's what I did. I went to the very top and I got my money right away. The room was very nice and very clean, but it was pretty small. There was barely room enough for a bed. The very first apartment that the staff showed me that we thought my husband was going to be going into was a pretty good size. The next room that she showed me was really small. However, the building was pristine and beautiful.

My mother and I chose Independence Village in Fishers near the Saxony Hospital. We shopped several other communities before choosing what has been the best choice for my mother. From the outset the whole place gave us such a warm welcome. I can’t say enough about Stephanie the person who was one of the main reasons we went with this community. The food is great, the staff is like family now.

We haven’t had a care plan meeting since my mom moved in 5 months ago. Her laundry was supposed to have been done by facility. It hasn’t been done for her yet. There are rarely activities at night. I’m not sure how soon they notice/reach out if a resident doesn’t go to meals. We were told staff would gather memory-impaired residents to remind them to attend activities, but it doesn’t happen.

At Independence Village, I don’t feel guilty leaving Dad. His apartment is beautiful and cozy. The facility is clean and staff is kind and helpful. The food and dining experience is like going out to a restaurant, not like a hospital cafeteria! There are plenty of activities and opportunities to entertain family and friends as well as make new friends! It feels like a home, not a facility!

We have been very happy with IVEF. My family member started out in AL and transitioned to MC after a year and a half. The rooms are very nice and kept clean. The staff are very friendly. There have been some staff shortages/changes but currently it seems to be stable. Activities for the residents are picking up. I definitely like to see lots of activities so there are options to choose from. Laundry can be an issue with getting the correct garments back.

Our mother moved in to memory care after our dad passed away 3 months ago. The difficult transition was made more comfortable by the caring and loving staff. She enjoys the regular activities and special meals. She is able to get her hair done weekly without leaving the facility. The staff are friendly and attentive. She has her own room that we decorated w items from her home. It is her retreat though she is rarely there. She enjoys being with the other residents and the staff. We appreciate knowing that she is comfortable, safe, and well cared for.

Independence Village of Fishers East looked nice, bright, and open. There was a courtyard and it was pleasing to the eye. The residents there looked younger. The hallways were spacious in between the apartments. There were one bedrooms and studios, and they were bright and new. There was lots of light and openness. They had a crafts room, a physical therapy room, a garden where the residents could do gardening, and a path out where the residents could go on a little walk.

The memory care rooms are small but clean. Designed to be small so the residents will spend more time in the community area and outside in the secure courtyard. The staff is very caring, working with the residents in groups and individually. They assist each resident based on their specific needs. There are many activities for the residents including crafts, exercises, games, and music performed by singers and musicians. An onsite beauty salon is very convenient. Food is served in the memory care dining area with residents sitting with their friends or by themselves if preferred. The menu has multiple choices for each meal. On-site physical, occupational, and speech therapy is available from a third party. There is also a physicians assistant available for appointments on a weekly basis. Overall the memory care at Independence Village at Fishers East is one of the best in the area. I would highly recommend it when considering memory care for a loved one.

Our dad has lived at Independence Village for 18 months and he (and we!) could not be happier with his independent living experience. The staff feels like family in the way they look after the residents. You will always be greeted with a friendly smile and helpful front desk staff. The Director played an important role recently after our dad had a somewhat extended hospital/rehab stay. John, community Director, worked with us personally to make certain when our dad returned to independent living he was in the right living situation. Our dad lives in the 1 bedroom +den and it is very roomy- lovely balcony overlooking the woods is a great feature as well. There are plenty of activities to give seniors the socialization they need. Outings could be improved.

Independence Village of Fishers East was outrageously overpriced. The facility was very posh. It has all the group meetups and fancy dining rooms. The independent living offers zero nursing care for a studio apartment that was 400 square feet. If you are rich, you can afford to go here, but the average person wouldn't be able to afford it. The apartment had a stove, but there was no oven or dishwasher. There was a lot of natural light. They have physical therapy and a gym there. No meals are included in the cost, but they have very nice dining areas. The walk-in showers are definitely a plus too. The staff was nice. If you are not extremely wealthy, do not consider this facility.

I've been living here for eight months now. It's a four-story community, and I am on the fourth floor. I have one of the smaller apartments, but it's very comfortable, it's clean, and I have a wonderful balcony, so I have a great view of the area around us. My experience here is very good. I've never lived in a senior-living community before, so I can't compare it against anything, but I am quite pleased, and they take very good care of us. The food is outstanding, and I'm very surprised that in a community of this size, that the food that is served is so good. It's very healthy and very tasty. The menu is quite varied and quite large, too. The staff pays very close attention to the needs and the wishes of the members of the community. I couldn't ask for more than that. The common areas are very clean, it is well taken care of, and it has some interesting amenities. It has a theater, where they show current films and entertainment groups, so although they're not here in person, they are shown in productions at least. I was very pleased with the seating arrangement and the room. There's a very large screen, so it was almost like they were here in person, and that was really nice. The residents I have now acquainted myself with are also very friendly, and I don't think that there's any community that would be much better than this one.

It is amazing. I toured around ten facilities and it's absolutely the nicest. The staff is really nice. Everything is clean and in good condition. We've eaten there with my mother a couple of times already and the food has been pretty good. They have a lot of different activities and different excursions. They take them to church, the grocery store, restaurants, and to go shopping.

We visited, it's brand new, and it's gorgeous. However, it has numerous floors, they have three different places to eat, and they have rooms available right now. The staff was very nice, it was spotless, and although the rooms were smaller, they were very nice.
