My mom is at Senior Living at Forest Ridge. It is a very nice and very friendly community with lots of recreational activities and helpful staff. It's probably the nicest facility I've seen for senior living. They have high-class meals and the restaurant setting for all the residents is very nice. They have a morning stretch every day, card games, arts and crafts, a line dancing class that comes in once a week, and tours every so often out to shopping or restaurants and stuff.

Senior Living at Forest Ridge was a wonderful place. I would say it's a 5-star everywhere. I only met a couple of staff, but they were great. It's one that you have to pay for completely unless you are a veteran. The rooms were smaller than what I have now, but they're beautiful and very nicely decorated. They've got windows, and it's very woodsy in that area, so it's beautiful. The rooms were decorated with wallpaper and carpet. They had people on staff, but if you fall, nobody's allowed to pick you up. They had different activities like Bingo and different areas for activities, but it's been over two years since I've seen it. I know they took residents out on fieldtrips, so they take them out to different places. I was able to taste a snack, and it's very good. Their food was excellent, and they had a chef.

Senior Living at Forest Ridge was for more affluent people. It was very nice, but it also costs more. The dining room, and the one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and studio apartments were all very nice. They have bingo, devotions, outings, and trips, and they also told me about their Veteran's benefits. They have a drink bar that has soda, tea, and coffee in the cafeteria. They also have walking trails that go around the place. They provide one meal every day and cleaning services.

The best assisted living place ever! I'm very familiar with facilities in Indy, Muncie and Richmond. Forest Ridge (which is now the correct name as Glen Oaks is the sister skilled nursing facility in NC. ). The loving care, the decor, the food and the maintenance is outstanding. My mother has blossomed!!

Glen Oaks Assisted Living at Forest Ridge is located on a wooded campus tucked on a hillside in New Castle, Indiana. It is part of two larger buildings within the medical complex. Forest Ridge Medical Pavilion and Lamberson/Malott Eye Center are the other two practices in the area. They are independent of GOALFR. The campus is wooded and picturesque with walking trails and a pond. Inside, the facility has an aviary at its northernmost entrance. The multistory building appears more a 4-star hotel with amenities than an assisted living facility. A fireplace with mantel and seating group greet visitors. Nearby is a central office, gift shop for residents, laundry, fine dining room and elevator. A tall staircase adds ambiance to the room. The amenities for residents include meals, programming, music, exercise, hairdresser and more. A piano is available which my Grandfather loved to play. Residents enjoy private rooms with housekeeping services and three home-cooked meals/day. A bus shuttles residents to shopping trips. My grandfather lived in this location , then known as the Woodlands, for seven years. Thank you.
