Churchman Woods is an independent living but they do a really good job. I found the exercise room yesterday and they have workout machines, there are events, and we play bingo and cards. So they do a lot of stuff for the residents if you want to participate. I was surprised with what they offer for just independent, it was a really nice surprise. I'm quite impressed with the way it's run and the beauty of it. The entrance is quite lovely and so is the whole thing, although it's not brand-new, someone's been living here for 13 years so it's been here awhile. They have TV rooms on each floor, and there are 3 floors. It didn't really look like an apartment building, it's not a tall 6-floor building. You get to know people as you go in and out you go past them, people are sitting out front waiting for their rides for example. So it's easy to get acquainted. And it's convenient for the seniors to go to the Beech Grove Senior Center because it's along the route of our transportation. I also chose to come here since I just needed a 1-bedroom. There's only one girl for the staff and she's quite nice. I have also met the maintenance man. They don't offer food, you have to make your own food.
