For 17 happy years, Mom & Dad enjoyed living in GVS. Whether it was their spacious 3-room apartment, friendly neighbors, excellent food, & attentive well-trained staff, they loved it all. The exercise room is well staffed & equipped. Residents get their hair cut & their nails done without leaving the premises. GVS has interesting activities & helpful services. Residents are encouraged to volunteer in the library, Sunday Vespers service, & different choral groups, among other opportunities. For health needs, GVS has excellent graduated care. We have enjoyed the loving friends who have served our parents in multiple areas: independent living, assisted living, memory care, rehab & hospice. I’ve stayed in the guest rooms and enjoy the great food & 4-star dining room. The staff in different areas tell me loving stories about Dad & Mom & feel like family. In my opinion Greenwood Village South is an ideal place to live.

My 99 year old aunt was very fortunate to have entered The Manor at Greenwood Village South about two years ago. She, and her family, could not be more satisfied. The staff is fabulous at every level. They really care about their residents. The services they provide are extremely valuable in all aspects. The policies and methodology utilized make my aunt’s life, and her family’s lives, enjoyable and happy. We thank Greenwood Village South for their attention, facilities, services, and staff from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you!!

My husband and I recently moved into one of the independent ranch homes ( called cottages) and we couldn’t be happier! We have both experienced the process of our parent’s move to this community and then their progression through the various levels of care, eventually into the skilled nursing area - a top notch top rated facility. Knowing we could remain extremely independent with support and assistance available if we need it was invaluable. Dining services and activities when we choose them anre excellent .Our adult children are quite happy that we made this decision together and plan to enjoy the lifestyle. We give Greenwood Village South five stars!

The staff is great! Karen and Hurley are on top of getting residents extra help when needed. Hurley checks on my mother almost daily. Because my mother has lost almost all of her sight, Hurley comes weekly to professionally get all the weekly pills ready to go. Jodie comes in each morning and makes breakfast for mom (at an extra cost.) There are also people scheduled to assist with dinner each evening. My mom is able to have her dinner delivered each evening and it is a huge helps!

Our parents had a wonderful experience living in the Arms for five years. When our family and my dad thought he would benefit from more care, he moved to the Manor for assisted living. It was a hard decision to make because he was so well integrated into his life in independent living. We were anxious about the process of moving and adapting to a new environment. However, Jenni made the process as painless as possible. She met with our whole family of siblings to answer our questions and explain the type of care dad would receive. She was very helpful in overseeing the renovation of dad’s room and quickly solved any problems that arose. She was very responsive to our texts and phone calls and was a pleasure to work with ! The staff have all been kind and friendly to dad during his first two weeks and we look forward to seeing him integrate into life in the Manor. Thank you, Jenni!

My father-in-law lived at GVS Independent Living for a little over 5 years. He enjoyed his time while he was there and when he needed extra help, the GVS Care's Team was there to help with loving care. When he started to need additional assistance, he moved to assisted living at The Manor. In hind sight, we wish we would have made the move six months to a year sooner. Jenni and her staff helped with making his transition to the Manor an easier move than we anticipated. For the short time he was there he loved the nurses and their supportive staff. If we would have made the move sooner, he would have been able to enjoy the entertainment, the activities and the assistance from the nurses and staff.

We recently moved my dad from Independent Living to Assisted Living at GVS. The move and transition has really gone well. Huge thank you goes to Jenni and all of the staff for making this change go so smoothly. Whatever questions we had, Jenni was always there to assist us! Her actions truly show her passion for what she does on a daily basis and the residents in the Manor. Since dad's move he has told me several times "everyone here loves Jenni" :)

I moved my aunt in GVS about 3 years ago now and overall I am very happy with the care she is receiving. Everyone is very pleasant and most are eager to help when needed. I moved her in during COVID and felt really bad about dropping her there and not being able to to visit but the staff took really good care of her and called or texted me often with updates. I searched a lot of Medicaid accepted facilities and by far GVS was the nicest and cleanest hands down.

My mother lives here. It was difficult to uproot her from everything she’s ever known, but because of GVS it’s been a wonderful transition! The staff is exceptional. The facilities are beautifully maintained. The best part, however, are the activities! My mom is busy and happy all of the time! It’s made a challenging time so much better!

Moving to Greenwood Village south was scary but Alexa (DON) and Jenni ( sales counselor) reassured me and calmed my fears. It was still a scary experience but they made it manageable. The residents and the staff are friendly. The food is excellent. I am getting used to a change in my daily schedule. If I ever have a question they can answer them or direct me to the people who can because they really care about me.

My dad has been living at GVSouth for nearly 10 years. There are many choices around the area for similar services, but I must say the STAFF at GVS makes the difference for us. I live many states away and if not for the caring staff, both admin & nursing, our arrangement would be far less pleasant.

My parents were at GVS 13 years ago. I learned at that time what a special place it is. The compassion, care, and communication are excellent. Now my husband and I are considering moving to GVS in the cottages. Our interactions with the staff in making this decision has been wonderful. Karen E. goes above and beyond to help in this very difficult decision. We have visited many times and are so impressed with the grounds, the staff, the dining room and the activities offered. We look forward to living at GVS in the near future.

I went to Greenwood Village South. Activity-wise, a lot was going on. You could see people talking to each other. My only thing is that one has a buy-in and the buy-in would have been $300,000 plus $4880 a month for the one-bedroom apartment. It's like long-term care insurance where they would take care of the person or persons, and if they have to move to nursing care or anything like that, it's all covered. The community was very nice. They had a beauty shop, library, movie room, and several little sitting areas like chairs for people to gather and visit whatever they wanted. There are buses, too. They had church service there also. They had everything a person could want, but it was too much money. 75% of it is refundable when they die and when the apartment is re-rented. The apartment has to be rented and then they reimburse the family 75%. The staff were knowledgeable. With regards to the food, they had a point system. You had 400 points. They showed us the menu and most things were about 10 to 11 points. They said most people just use it one meal a day (the midday meal), and then they can use whatever points for little bistro or go and get ice cream. However, at the other places, three meals a day were included in the price, so that was a little bit different.

I received an invitation from marketing 6 years ago to attend one of their events. I wasn’t able to come at that time. I called back later and asked if my daughter and I could come to tour the campus. Lunch that day was coconut shrimp and it was absolutely wonderful. We had lunch with two women who ended up “adopting” me when I moved in. They made sure I was introduced to many residents and all the activities there are at GVS. I love all the many activities available. We have cards, pool, ping pong, shuffleboard, Wii bowling, bingo, tasting parties and happy hour, various crafts and many other activities. We also go on outside trips to various parks to walk, tour museums, concerts, the zoo, the state fair, watch the Indianapolis Indians play, etc. I also love all that is available in the Wellness Center. We have yoga, line dancing, brain buster, balance classes, seated classes, stretch, and circuit classes which is a rotation of various exercises for one minute each. The room has many exercise machines available for our use. I love living here and enjoy the friendship of the many residents. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I think of them as family and friends rather than employees.

From fellow residents to staff, Greenwood Village is truly a community. We have live in a cottage since January of 2022. We believe moving to GVS is one of the best decisions we have ever made. We enjoy activities ranging from euchre to trips to the symphony. Our cottage is well cared for by the staff. We enjoy the independence of living in our own home, but with the benefits of security, maintenance, and great care when we need it. BONUS: if I don’t want to cook, we simply go to the dining room or bistro. We are living our best lives here at GVS.

Our experience with placing our mom in this assisted living facility has been wonderful! During the stressful time of indecision and inquiry when we knew a change was imperative to ensure Mom's safety, our family, upon visiting this facility, felt an immediate warmth and connection to the staff. The care and professionalism that has been exhibited since the move last April is absolutely exemplary!

My mom was in the rehab part of Greenwood Village South, and she was very happy there. The food was good (and she's a picky eater!), and the staff was very helpful and kind. The rehab room is very large with impressive equipment. Another thing she like was the community area right outside the rooms. If she wanted to be with others all she had to do was leave her room. There were activities, TV, puzzles, and friendly people right outside her door. She has said if she needs rehab again she would definitely like to go back to GVS.

With heartfelt Thanks to GVS for the excellent care they had provided me. After my hip surgery , I was in rehab for 3 months then I was released to go back to my apartment and I realized that I needed more help. The Staff was so helpful and caring. Every one was reliable, responsible, respectful to my needs. I'm so happy to be in Greenwood Village South to get all this help and is all in house. Best decision I ever made!

Greenwood Village has been amazing for my senior friends. Helping them find a place that was appropriate for both of them, who have different needs, Greenwood Village was the place! I have seen the independent living and visited with current residence who love living there. I have seen rehab that has the most kind and caring staff. I have seen assisted living that also has the most kind and caring staff. My friends love the food, and feel well cared for. If I were looking for myself or anyone else, I wouldn’t look any further than Greenwood Village.

My in-laws moved into a cottage home at GVS while in their 70s. They enjoyed all of the activities, opportunities to get involved, meet others, and experience maintenance-free independent living. When my mother-in-law became terminally ill she moved to the Pavilion and received very good care. After her death, my father-in-law moved to the apartments. What makes GVS a 5-star community? Amazing friendships, good exercise, fun entertainment, quality meals, engaging activities, enriching trips, and excellent staff all in one place. In fact, our family believes he is still thriving at age 92 because of all he has been able to contribute to activities and committees in the GVS community and all it has given back to him in the 18 years he has lived there. We also appreciate how the staff responded and adapted so quickly to the pandemic and its challenges. We are thankful for their ongoing communication with families. We are fortunate to have GVS in Greenwood!

What a delightful, loving, clean, safe place for my mom! What a caring staff! Mom moved in the summer of 2021, and my family is so pleased to see our mother happy and so well cared for, even through the continuing Covid restrictions and environment in our community (which is effecting the Village staff, too). The staff obviously loves their residents, and goes above board to keep them safe. Mom is already involved in exercise (well-equipped, clean facility!), cards, shuffleboard, etc, as the residents really care for each other and try to involve all.

Transitions may not always be easy, but when I knew it was time for me to leave my home, GVS was the only place I considered due to its reputation and my visitations. It offered safety and security which I and my children valued, but it is obvious that a servant heart pulsates at all levels of this community. It is not just a place to live; it also becomes a home. Yes, all the basic needs are met, but residents have a full range of activities and events for all interests...fun, education, play, self-improvement, etc...all of which indeed enrich and nourish both body and spirit! GVS is the right place for me!

Greenwood Village South is currently building its new cottages, and my husband and I have decided to build our own cottage there, which won't be ready yet. When we visited there we were impressed with the community. The people are very nice and very informative. As a matter of fact, my husband has been ill, and he spent time in their rehab facility. He liked the food, he liked the people, and that was really one of the things that made us decide to stay there. The facility itself is a little old, but they are in the process of remodelling it, and we're not gonna be moving into the main building, we've decided to move to their cottages. They have a calendar of activities too that seems comparable to other places.

After researching retirement communities all over central Indiana, we found Greenwood Village South and we’re glad we did. We signed up the same day we made our very first visit. The residents, employees and activities are just great! Our Activities Director has us going all over the area in our buses, to restaurants, ball games and the symphony. For fun, we play bingo, cards, pool, ping pong and have a well equipped wood working shop. Our advice would be to not to wait too long in order to enjoy all the aspects of GVS life while you’re still “young”. Well, at least, young at heart.

My Mother is pleased to have moved to Greenwood Village South four years ago. The facility is clean and well-maintained, and the staff is highly professional, friendly, and responsive to the needs of the residents. The food is great, and the dining staff is very accommodating. The GVS Cares staff are ready to step in when a resident would like help with things like laundry, turning a chore into a fun activity. My experience suggests that GVS is a first-class retirement community that has all bases covered.

My parents moved into GVS a few years ago. Its truly a great place. Full of wonderful people - residents and staff, alike. The facility is tremendous - well built, solid and well-maintained. The staff cares about the residents and they go the extra mile to make everyone happy. The most recent example, they made sure that my mom could "attend" a destination family wedding via Zoom. A staff member came in on her day off just to make sure my mom was all set up! I could cite many more examples. From our perspective, management did an excellent job dealing with Covid. They made a plan, worked it and communicated very well. Continued fingers crossed, of course, on that. Anyone in the Indianapolis area looking for a retirement community for themselves or a family member, should check out GVS.

My husband and I made the decision to move to Greenwood Village South in September 2014 when we were both 66 yrs old. We moved into our GVS cottage in February 2015. It is one of the best decisions we have made in our marriage of 50 years . We made the big move without a crisis or health problems. We made the decision joyfully, eager to be active members of the GVS community. We made the transition while we were "young enough" to be active and enjoy all that GVS has to offer. We chose Greenwood Village South because it offers independent cottage living, independent apartment living, assisted living apartments, nursing care and memory care. Even though we live independently in a cottage, we can choose to dine in The Orchard dining room whenever we choose. Greenwood Village South makes transportation available for residents who need drivers. My husband and I know that when one of us needs a higher level of care, that care will be provided right on our campus. Future decisions regarding health care are in place so that when we do face a crisis, we are ready. My husband and I are chairmen of the GVS Employee Appreciation Committee. We and the other residents here greatly value our employees. Our employees quickly learn residents' names and help us with our needs. After 6 years of being residents at GVS, we can sincerely say that our employees are like extended family members. During COVID, our employees have worked beyond expectations, sacrificially, to ensure our safety and to communicate to our families. We love the variety of GVS activities offered for the independent living residents which include yoga, fitness classes, walking groups, tricycle/bicycle riding groups, fitness center, classes to help us use new technology devices, billiards, ping pong, bocce ball, an art groups, knitting and crochet group, reading club, "happy hour," -- just to mention some! The grounds of our community are beautiful, and we enjoy walking and biking/triking around the campus. Seasonal decorating also makes our campus beautiful. 2020 was the first year for the cottages to have a luminary night. Many of us went riding or walking in the dark - with flashlights - and enjoyed the glow of the luminaries as well as holiday lights displayed on residents' homes. We are so glad that we decided to move to Greenwood Village South in our mid-60s, rather than waiting longer. We know that we can look forward to "Lifetime Care" together.

I've been a resident in the cottages for over two years and love it. Not wanting to keep taking care of a house and doing all the lawn care, I moved in soon after retiring. My house is the perfect size with lots of storage space. I really love the sun porch. Activities offered include a wellness center and wonderful library. Several people here have taken up bicycle and tricycle riding. Seeing so many people riding, administration created a safe place on campus for storing bikes over the winter. They saw a "new need" and responded to it. When the pandemic arrived the administration responded immediately. They are well versed in what needs to be done and provided guidelines for us to live by to protect ourselves and the community. Being creative they came up with a little grocery for us to buy enough "basics" to avoid many trips to the large public grocery. Instead of holding the birthday gathering for everyone who has a birthday that month, they now offer to bring a good dinner to our home or apartment. They even come back for the dirty dishes! I can't thank the staff enough for helping me through this pandemic. I know I live in a community that cares about the residents and helps them stay safe. Moving here was the right decision for me.

I am very appreciative of the excellent care that my Mother-In-Law receives at Greenwood Village South. We moved her from another local assisted living facility to GVS more than two years ago and the difference in quality is immeasurable. From the conscientious staff to the vastly superior meal quality, GVS has much to be proud of. The staff is not only welcoming and supportive, they are results oriented and actually get things done. In all of our interactions with them, up to the most senior managers, they have been courteous, professional, and responsive. This responsiveness provides tremendous peace of mind to our family, especially in this time of continued social distancing. For that we are grateful and I can not recommend Greenwood Village South more highly.

The team at GVS the Manor has been extraordinary!!! After my uncle died suddenly in Feb 2020 I took on the responsibility of making sure my Aunt, his beloved wife of 42 years, was taken care of. Managing all of this in "normal" times is a lot but then the pandemic hit. Greenwood Village South from start to finish helped me every step of the way and we were able to move my aunt and her cat, Tyler, into the Manor on May 5th. She is happy in her apartment and she loves the staff (and the food!) During this pandemic there was only a short window of time when I was able to visit my aunt and during that time the staff has become her family :) They take such good care of her and respond to my inquiries as well as notify me when she needs things. I could not ask for a better group of individuals to be taking care of my aunt. They are angels here on earth and I am extremely grateful for each and every one of them. I promised both my aunt and my uncle back in 2003 I would take care of things for them when they could not. With the help of the GVS staff I have been able to keep that promise and I could not have done it without them!!

Our mother was a resident of the Manor for five years until she recently passed away at 97. She loved it there. She considered the staff part of her family. She actually worried if she became sick that she would lose her room and she didn’t want that to happen. We are very grateful for the kind and professional care that she received. All the staff went above and beyond to make her feel loved and cared for. She became very involved in activities, bingo, cards, games ,social activities and even exercises. The director and the activities director were very kind and helpful. The nursing staff were attentive and professional. She even praised the cleaning and maintenance staff. We would highly recommend this facility for your loved one from the son, daughter -in-law and daughter of a past resident.

I can truly say you have amazing staff who have been a blessing to me and my family. The Admissions Director is a kind person who never ceased to reached out to me on any needs for my Dad, always answered any calls and emails. My Dad's Social Worker puts her heart into everything she does. She has been an amazing advisor to me as well as truly caring about my Dad, trying to help in anyway possible to make sure his needs were/are met. Due to insurance issues, my Dad was discharged yesterday. Beth called me today to see how he’s doing, see if she could help in any way. So above and beyond! Business Office staff referred me to an Elder Law Lawyer to assure I was making as well-educated decisions for my parents as possible. The direct care staff each made my Dad feel they cared about him. During these crazy times, please know the staff you have are impacting lives. Including ours!

GVS is an excellent retirement center. My mother has lived here for 6 years and has enjoyed every moment. Everyone is so accommodating and friendly. Through this covid period you could not ask for better care or service even though this has been stressful to both the residents and families.

I have two grandmothers who are both at this facility. They previously lived at a different facility, but we are so glad they have transferred to Greenwood Village South. All of the people are so kind and respectful and truly care about the well-being of those living at the facility. We know their needs will be taken care of when we are unable to be there. I would highly recommend GVS for people looking for an assisted living community for their loved ones.

Though I have not been in my mother's room for some time because of the pandemic I used to visit her there quite frequently. My mother very much likes her room as do I. I am impressed with the cleanliness of the facility and the professionalism of the staff who are always there to assist in any manner needed. I would, and have, strongly recommended Greenwood Village South to those who ask about my mother. I visit once a week now because of the pandemic and GVS makes the visit as pleasant and accommodating as possible. Keep up the good work.

I moved to Greenwood Village in July 2019 and have thoroughly enjoyed it from day one. The staff is amazing, and the workers go out of their way to take care of every need you have. Once you are in your apartment and settled the workers come and hang your pictures & do anything else you want. I moved here because it gives me peace of mind knowing that I will have continous care up to the very end. I recently joined a three wheel adult Trike group. All Trikes were decorated for a Fourth of July Parade ; we rode through the campus and many residents were waving Flags as we passed by. This community allows one a stress free life-style. My best advise is, don't wait; come while you have the health to enjoy the many amenities it has to offer. My favorite saying is: IF NOT NOW, WHEN!

Many people already know that Greenwood Village South is a top level, lovely, dynamic community with a wonderful & caring staff. I would love to add that, during this season of Covid, our family has been both impressed and grateful for the level of care GVS has taken in keeping our parents safe from the virus - And also in their efforts to connect us as a family . I am an out of town family member and am so appreciative of how GVS took the time to get to know our particular situation, and their willingness to lay out a plan with me to insure both meaningful and safe visits! Thank you GVS!

My 94 year old mother has been a resident of GVS for five years. She initially moved into a one bedroom apartment and was able to qualify for independent living but then transitioned into assisted living due to progression of her dementia. My 5 star rating is based upon our experience in both facilities. The nursing staff is amazing. Everyone is so kind and they do a great job keeping family informed with our mother's well being. The physical surroundings are kept in top condition, even with the age of the buildings. Food and dining has always been above expectations. My family did extensive research before deciding on GVS and we all feel blessed our mother is a resident, especially given the COVID 19 environment. Their visitation protocols in place have resulted in no reported resident infections as of 7/23/20 which is impressive.

My mother has been living at GVS Arms Independent living for 1-1/2 years and we are thrilled with all aspects of the facility. The quality of the people from management, to food services, to maintenance, to care-givers, to shuttle drivers are all top-notch individuals who care about their residents. It is truly a wonderful place to live; but that is only half the story. Unfortunately Mom recently fell and we were faced with needing a Rehab facility for her to recovery from surgery and found the other great aspect of GVS which is the Pavilion. The special care and physical therapy that she has received during the past 6 weeks has been exceptional. The physical building is one aspect when determining where to place your loved one, but more importantly it is the people inside that building which make up the heart and soul of the experience and care. Thank you GVS for providing such a wonderful staff of physical therapists, nurses and care givers.

My husband was at Greenwood Village South. The general appearance was OK, but I wasn't happy with the facility at all. He developed a terrible bedsore and they didn't tell me about it until after it had already gotten bad. They just didn't turn him when he was supposed to be turned. I wasn't happy with the care he got. Some of the staff members were OK, and some were not. The food was not good, but the dining area looked OK. His room was clean. They provided activities for them, like they had puzzles set up, they had somebody that played the piano once in a while, and they had therapy.

When it became time to place my brother-in-law in a nursing facility we checked around and were extremely pleased with GVS. The facility appeared to be very clean and livable and the staff appeared to be quite caring and knowledgeable. We made a decision to go with GVS. Two years later we are just as pleased with the level of service my brother-in-law received as we were when we initially placed him there in November 2015. He was in The Pavilion which is their Alzheimer's Unit. We don't believe we could have made a better choice. The concern and care shown was beyond expectations and the food served looked delicious each time we were there.

We visited Greenwood Village, and my parents liked that the people were very active. They have an active volunteer program. They liked the feel of the community, it was bright and cheerful, and the people that we saw were very nice, caring friendly, and accommodating. We saw a 1-bedroom, it was a nice size, and the kitchen was very nice, but I thought the living area was small. It's in a nice, location, suburban, and pleasant, and it sits on a nice property. It's easy to get to.

Greenwood Village was a lovely place and impressive. If I was to consider seriously I would consider Greenwood. I went mainly to the nursing care and I was impressed. I went to the Alzheimer’s unit, I was impressed. Everybody was very kind and the people that worked there seemed to be handling the patients or the residents well.

Greenwood was very nice, and it was like going into a little town. The apartments are nice, they have separate cottages, and they have various levels of care. The lady that helped us out was excellent. They had lots of activities, and they can take you in buses out to shop or anything you want to do. The dining area was very nice. It’s convenient for us to go there.

Greenwood Village South is a nice facility, but it's costly. They require a buy in. Overall, it's a nice place to be.
