I visited my uncle at this facility for three hours last night. During that time, no one came in to check on him. The same thing happened three nights ago when his family stayed with him for over four hours. Upon leaving two nights ago, I saw eight employees at the nurse's station, all laughing, on phones, and talking while three rooms were flashing their lights for help. I had walked the hall just a few minutes earlier, so I know the staff saw the lights. My uncle was admitted on Saturday for a hip replacement. He was in a lot of pain, and the nurse on the floor said they couldn't change his painkiller medication without a doctor's script. When I asked when the doctor would be in, the nurse said not until Tuesday because of the holiday. I wondered why no doctor was on call or available in an emergency. I revisited my uncle on Tuesday night; the doctor was not there that day either. All they gave my uncle was Tylenol three times a day. When I went to his room, he had no ice water and no water at all. This evening, he asked for some ice water and was told they had no cups. He has laid in his feces for about an hour and was not cleaned properly afterward, causing a burning sensation. I have also caught the staff in a lie. I asked the (I believe the head nurse) a question, and she walked by without answering. She has yet to show me the courtesy even to acknowledge me. I went into the restroom in his room and there was feces all over the toilet seat, bowl, and around the outside of the bowl. The urinal on his food table was not even washed out before putting it on the same table on which he eats his food. THESE ARE JUST A FEW OF THE PROBLEMS WE HAVE FACED AND YES THERE ARE SOME THERE WHO CARE ABOUT THEIR JOB AND ARE SO PROFESSIONAL IN THEIR SERVICE THANK YOU TO THEM. WE WILL PURSUE ALL THE AVENUES WE CAN TO CORRECT THIS MISHANDLING OF THE HANDICAPPED AND THE VETERANS, OF WHICH MY UNCLE IS A HONORABLE MARINE. THE ATTORNEY GENERAL OF INDIANA CALLED ME ON THE PHONE AND AFTER SPEAKING WITH THAT OFFICE FOR APPROX. FORTY MINUTES IT WAS TOLD THAT ARE EXPERIENCES WERE SPOKEN THE SAME SO THEY WERE NOT LIES. MORE WILL COME IF NOT FOR UNCLE BUT FOR ALL THE ELDERLY, HANDICAPPED, AND THE VETS. WE HAVE JUST BEGUN TO FIGHT LAZINESS. NOT CARING, UNPROFESSIONALISM.

If you love your loved one, don't put them here. My mom was not taken care of. She was barely taken out of her bed, when here clothes were changed (one time it was 7 days before she was changed, and at that I was the one to do it for her, they lost them even though I had a sign that family would do the laundry. Her bed side tray and table were never cleaned, I would visit, and I would pick up trash and toss it clean her table. The food was thrown on her plate like she was a wild animal, not fit to eat. Mom would call me and ask me to see if I could get a nurse to come down because they wouldn't answer her call light. The lady during the week at the front desk, was always so bitter when I would walk in or call never would speak, I remember once who saying hello. If it wasn't for a nurse's aide, Emma (I believe was her name) helping my mom I'm not sure what I would have done. No, worries mom has been moved to another place much happier. I did find out once she was moved mom was declining fast come to find out Beech Grove Meadows wasn't giving her all her meds. Please if you love your person don't send them here.

AWFUL!!! Do not leave you family unattended in this place. The care nothing about the patients only about making money. Is is 100% disgusting the smell when you walk in is enough to make you puke. They don't give residents baths, change bed, clean room. They will just tell you "that's not my job" worthless staff!

Beech Grove Meadows is top-of-the-line, it's very nice and I like the people running the place. If I could afford it I would move there. The staff who gave the tour was very good, she's been there for years, she knows what she's doing, and she's very capable. The community is convenient and very nice, there's nothing wrong with it and it's very clean. I would have moved in the next day if I had the money. I did not eat there but I was shown menus and they would have been fine. The place itself is very pretty. They don't have a swimming pool but they have lots of activities and they do the normal stuff when it comes to activities. They have a beauty shop. It's relatively homey, and their dining area is just like a nice big room. It looked fine and had nice furniture.

I loved Beech Grove Meadows and everything was great. The only thing about it was the location, since it's a little farther to shopping. The people were great and the place is a really high contender. The food looked and smelled good. The little 1-bedroom we saw was wonderful. It had a den and a garage.

We visited Beech Grove Meadows. The staff member who toured us was knowledgeable, friendly, inviting, and warm. They have shopping tours and go to museums and ball games.

The director at Beech Grove Meadows was very helpful and she talked to us quite a while. Their individual homes are rentals and my folks didn't want that. When we walked in, there were two entrances, so we didn't know which way to go. Unfortunately, we walked into the nursing home side, which wasn't very impressive. We had an appointment, but we weren't greeted. It was not a very good thing. We just waited there until somebody approached us and showed us to the other side where we were supposed to have gone in. We were brought to the director's office. She was so sweet and she softened us up after explaining to her our disappointment earlier. She showed us the individual cottages and they were very nice.

The people that were running Beech Grove Meadows, including the nurses and the administrator, were very nice and very informative. I did not feel that was the right place for my aunt. It's an older place and resembled more of a hospital. Eating and activities were all in the same room, so there's not much separation. It was kind of dismal. The staff was very nice, very informative, and very willing to talk. They had a library in the assisted living. Everybody was so nice; even the maintenance people were really good, not only with me, but I saw them interacting with the other residents there.

I just moved my dad from independent living to the assisted living section of Beech Grove Meadows last Friday. It's still a bit early, but I have saw that the community was clean. His room is small, but functional, and the dining area is nice.

The people we saw at Beech Grove Meadows seemed happy to be there. The staff was very friendly and invited us to come back for a better tour since the woman who normally did the tours was not there. They suggested that we come back at a meal time so we could see what the food was like.

Beech Grove was a wonderful place; that’s where my mom and dad are going to go. They’re actually apartments, but they’re separate, and they can transition to assisted living and into full care and nursing home. When you walk in there, it does not feel like a nursing home. They’ve got huge bird cages, ceilings that people can sit and watch the live birds and talk to them, and they can feed them. They’ve got several gardens where the residents can go and sit in. The people that worked there -- nurses, doctors, and therapist -- all take turns taking them out and sit with them all day while they enjoy the fresh air and sunlight. For the apartment mom and dad are going to live in, they tell my dad he can bring all of his bird cages and put them in the yard, so he can continue to watch those, which was one of the big thing because he loves to watch his birds. You can plant in the yard; he can bring part of his own world. My parents are on the waiting list; it probably would be available in November.

The staff members at Beech Grove Meadows are great and a lot of them have been there for a really long time. They have a nice dining area with a patio for the residents. The surroundings are very attractive. They really have great activities for the residents.

We took a tour, and I liked Beech Grove Meadows. The main reason why we chose this one was for the location and the cost, but my uncle is still trying to work things out financially. It's quite a bit less expensive than the others. For activities, I know they play cards and have weekly excursions.

At Beech Grove Meadows, it was a little bit cheaper to live. The houses were a little closer to live there, but that's alright. They have all the space that my mom needs. They were clean and well maintained, definitely what my mom could use, space-wise and all. It was very nice.

I felt that the housing layout allowed residents to keep a feeling of independence. They also offered nurse and hospice care for residents who had health problems or needed any rehabilitation. The nurses were kind and came around often. However, I felt that they could have been doing more to help some people, including my grandfather. He refused to eat for a while and the nurses and others at Beech Grove Meadows seemed to do very little to try to get him to eat, simply brought him his food and took it away if he wouldn't eat that day. Aside from that, the dining rooms were nice as well as day rooms where residents could see each other and participate in different social activities. Groups of kids from local schools and churches were also allowed to visit to help out, which I thought was great. They also had transportation for residents who were able to go out for visits to their doctors, restaurants, or grocery and other shopping stores.

My Grandmother was in a nursing home for a little while after we discovered that she had a variation of Parkinson's disease. My family is a large one, so somebody was almost always there at the nursing home with her. Because of this, my family got to know the staff quite well. Most of the staff was kind, efficient, and very personable. While there my grandmother improved, but not as much as she did once we brought her back home. I respect this nursing home and appreciate how they cared for my grandmother. I know what it is like to work in a nursing home and how hectic it can be, so I could relate to the aides in the facility more than most. The staff was always polite to my family and rarely treated us as if we were in the way. While a nursing home can never provide the same care as an actual home, where care is provided by one's own children, this nursing home was a suitable option.
