Gypsy Hill Place is housed in a historic former high school in Staunton, Virginia. With easy access to the Staunton trolley, seniors can enjoy the amenities of this small town, including shopping centers, museums, restaurants and galleries. Residents can also take part in programs at the Staunton Senior Center and shows at ShenanArts theatre. Gypsy Hill Place is an independent living community for seniors aged 55 and over. This facility offers 62 studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments, as well as wheelchair accessible units. Personal housekeeping services are provided as needed, and assistance with lifting and self-medication is available. Seniors can take part in the many on-site activities organized by Gypsy Hill Place. Exercise classes are offered to keep residents active, including Tai Chi and chair yoga for those with physical limitations. The communal grounds feature raised gardening beds and an outside patio area where barbecues, picnics and outdoor parties are hosted.
