The Pearl of Rolling Meadows (Manorcare of Rolling Meadows) is under construction as they're redoing it. The staff is pleasant. My mom moved into their memory care unit. The food is good. My mom's room is clean and homey. She has full-time, 24-hour nursing care, and she has a roommate which is good, so she'll have company. They have a gym, physical therapy, a band that comes in to play music, and memory games. They have a lot of activities. The layout of the place is good. They accept Medicaid which a lot of people need.

My mother was transferred here from Northwest Community Hospital. The care was poor from day one. She waited 45 minutes for a bedpan. Her medications were given incorrectly and the wrong medication was discontinued. Unfortunately, she passed three weeks later. Her ring was removed and placed in a lock box. It was documented that I was contacted but no one ever did. It took five weeks to get the ring returned to me. I wouldnt entrust this facility to another care member ever again.

My Mil was in there for almost 48 hours before moving elsewhere. No assistance to the bathroom at night-unacceptable to find her in wet clothing/bed in the morning

My husband was at ManorCare Rolling Meadows for rehab. The food was fairly good, but the care was kind of spotty or often a lot of people were just sitting in the hallways. In the regular area and the rehab area, there weren’t activities. There were some activities in the dining room, which was kind of hard to get to because it’s at the very end of the building. I didn’t see the staff taking the people to the activities. Sometimes, it was very hard to find a staff member. I would not want him to stay there because I was not impressed. Sometimes the floor in his room was so sticky, so it could have been cleaner. It wasn’t exactly bright, and the rooms were small. They did not give any orientation; they’re supposed to give a little packet when you come and after being there for 2 ½ months, I had to go and ask them questions. They didn’t take his laundry for the longest time.

My grandmother has moderate Alzheimer's disease, and is currently a resident at Manor Care. I have mixed feelings about the staff here. The receptionists are very helpful, and make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in the door. The CNA's and Nurses are great and do the absolute best they can with the resources they have. However I have had several issues that I needed to discuss with the management, and on all of these occasions I found them to be rather rude and unhelpful. They seem to have a lot on their plates, but I was hoping for a more calm discussion instead of feeling like I was not supposed to have any concerns. The facility seems to be understaffed, and the staff they do have seems to be overwhelmed.
