My mom was a resident of Lincolnwood Place. There were a lot of nurses there, and there was 24-hour care. For her level, she was so ill. She needs a lot of medical care. The food was really good. There was a doctor on staff, there was a nurse practitioner, there were nurses, and lots of caregivers. The caregivers were great, and it's just a beautiful place. It was very clean. They prepare the food fresh every day. It was just good food because I sat with her, for lunch, for dinner and it was good food. They also had different choices, which was nice. They have rooms and then they have the nurse's station, and then they have like, a little area where you can visit. Also, they have a beautiful garden where you can stay outside and get fresh air and sunshine. They had activities every day. They had board games, they had a lot of music, and they had musicians coming in. In the other section, I saw people coming and going on their own, but my mom needed a lot of care. The nice thing is that if you live there, they have this transportation bus. They would take you from town, like shopping to the mall. It's not cheap though. It's pretty pricey, but compared to a lot of senior facilities I went to, some were so depressing. They were dark and gloomy, and very depressing, but this one, it's bright and cheerful and it's a newer facility.

I toured Lincolnwood Place. I felt very welcome. The people were very informative and the place was well-maintained. I didn't see any activities, I'm sure there were, but when I realized it was two miles out of the radius of the hospital, I just kind of backed away.

My wife is now at Lincolnwood Place. It is impressive in terms of what they have there. They have happy hour. They have a big dining room that's for predominantly people who are independent. The second floor is where my wife's room is, and on that floor, they have a dining room, so there are two different dining rooms. No actual complaints there. She has a pendant, but when she pushes the button, they're supposed to be there 15 minutes or under, but many times it's been over that by a distance. She is doing a little bit better, but it's still hard for her to transfer. My wife's room is very nice and huge. Her bedroom has its own wall, but there's no door there and it's open. There's a beautiful bathroom and a grand kitchen. However, the issue of adding other charges is particularly troubling because it ends up being another $400 a month for them to obtain the meds, and put them in trays, and distribute them. I also think a primary issue is that they don't have a nurse after 8 p.m. Everything else is fine. The issue of nursing, to me, is profound. Nevertheless, the amenities are incredibly good. They have a social worker on staff. They have a very nice workout area that's very nice and all that. My wife doesn't use any of that, but that's because of her. With regards to the staff, some of the CNAs at this place are like sisters to her or what-have-you, but others are just horrible and don't give a hoot.

What stood out to me about Lincolnwood Place was whoever I met with on the sales team, the sales and marketing women were both fantastic, which made walking in, just being greeted, and that whole process easy. I found that they were informative. I found that they were very empathetic and compassionate with my current situation. They were just patient and very sympathetic. The facility itself was beautiful and clean. What I liked about it was also that it was like one-stop shopping. It was a campus, so it had every level of care, from dining to physical therapy, to occupational therapy. They had a sunroom or this green room where the seniors could go and just read. It was just like a space of tranquility, which I just thought was lovely. When I went there the day I visited they had a pianist. And it just was really cute to see the seniors in the audience. It was like a show for them. I felt a sense of community being there. The unit that they showed me was updated. It was clean, it was cozy, and it was spacious. I looked at a small unit, but for what my needs are, I felt that what it provided was perfect.

Lincolnwood Place looked like a lot of fun. I saw a lot of activities and a lot of personable people. The staff who showed me around was terrific. I hope she stays there for many years. They would provide 2 meals a day, so the third one would be extra. They had some balconies and a nice courtyard.

We toured Lincolnwood Place. We like it very much, but we don't know if we can afford it. I thought the person we met was very professional. She answered all our questions. I was very impressed with the grounds. I thought it was highly staffed, which I was surprised about. The décor was nice. It was clean. It did not smell. I found it lovely. The rooms were very airy. It had a nice openness to it. They were clean. They had a lot of services. The bathrooms were very well equipped for seniors and people with mobility problems; I was very impressed. I visited the one-bedroom and we looked at the memory floor.

We found Lincolnwood Place for my parents. It had everything we needed. One of the things that we like about the place is, if my parents' need change, we don't have to move them to a new facility. They have all the levels of care there. The staff are great. They're very helpful and very attentive. We've just enjoyed them. They've been very nice to my mom and her husband. I've had dinner with them several times, and the food is really good. They have a lot of activities, but my parents have not done any of them yet. It's a very nice facility. They are a little high, but with the value of the service they're getting, it is not that bad.

My friend's mother is at Lincolnwood Place. She has been there for three years now. She started off independent living, and now she is in assisted living. I like how they decorate it. It is very inviting and looks nice, but looks can be deceiving. It looks good, but they have mice there. My friend's mother has had a problem with mice for over a year in her bedroom. She broke her hip, and so she was downstairs in the skilled nursing because she needed that extra support. When she finally moved back upstairs to her apartment, there were mice. There was literally mice holes. If she is paying close to $8,000 a month, there should not be any mice in that building. When we called maintenance, they were like, 'OK, no big deal. We'll get a trap,' and that's what they did. They didn't even hire an exterminator. Another nurse came in and said that my friend's mother isn't the only person that has mice in her apartment, which is not a good sign. It's disturbing to know that these people have to worry about mice when they're paying all this money. In their dining room, you have assigned seating. I don't think it is very friendly. It's disappointing. These old people don't really know where else to go. So if they want to be outside of their room, they should be welcome in the dining room. It should not be like, 'Time's up. Lunch hours are over.' They can clean in the kitchen, but why do they have to be kicked out of the dining room? They are basically telling you to go back to your room. A lot of these people live alone, so it's not nice. It's kind of depressing. There were not a whole lot of activities. Two out of the four activities were like movie time. I tried to have my friend's mother go play bingo, but they don't have it every day. You want her to be excited for something, but it's hard if there are only two things she likes out of the whole calendar. I refused to try their food because it smells disgusting. I understand they have to buy bulk food, but you would think it would be more appetizing for the amount that they spent there. My friend's mother complains all the time. She was like, 'I really need to get out of this place because I want better food,' and I agree 100%. Their food is disgusting and not appealing at all.

Lincolnwood Place felt more like home. It's an older facility, but it's been remodeled, and it looks nice. They had spacious apartments. The staff was very accommodating. They have two meals a day. It was nice that you could stay in your independent living home and move to assisted living. I like the flexibility. They gave us some cookies. My mom tried it, and she liked it. They had a nice garden area for people to go outside if they wanted to. They have a beauty salon and a physical therapy area.

Lincolnwood Place is an older building with adequate accommodations, friendly staff, and an easy access location. Continuously updated investments are being made to improve the layout and facility. They have a well-appointed library and easy transition from independent living to assisted living. It's a continuous care facility.

We toured Lincolnwood Place, and it was really nice. I liked the fact that it's a safe environment for them, but it also gives them a lot of freedom. The staff who gave me the tour was very nice, very knowledgeable, very accommodating, and not pushy. We saw two apartments, and they were beautiful, nicely setup, and clean. In fact, everything in the facility was very clean. The dining room was very nice and very welcoming. It was not your typical cafeteria style. It was restaurant style with a menu and tablecloths. They have an outing once a week. They had a billiard room, a card room, a bingo room, a room where they show movies, piano players that come, game rooms with tables with different games, and an outdoor area which was very nice and spacious.

We're moving my mom into a one-bedroom apartment in Lincolnwood Place. The people have been wonderful. They pretty much cater to their residents, and if Mom needs to transition to assisted living at some point, she doesn't have to move. It could be done in the same room, which would make it a big plus. I wanted her in a place where she felt comfortable. The staff is just so nice. I haven't had any issues with them at all. They've returned all my phone calls as soon as possible, and they've answered all my questions. They're very direct. This is a studio apartment she's going into, but they have a variety of rooms to offer. There's an outdoor garden and activities going on all day long. There's exercise classes, Tai Chi/yoga/pilates, a full workout room, video screenings twice a day, a restaurant where they can get two meals a day or three meals a day, and a little commissary store that's open three days a week, so that if you want a candy bar, you can go down and grab one. There are TED talks, bingo, poker, and travel videos. The Lincolnwood Public Library comes in and visits that center, too. If you want a library book, you can request it. They have a book dropoff there so that you don't have to go out to the public library.

My friend lives in an apartment at Lincolnwood Place by himself. He gets assistance with showers and housekeeping and he loves it. He fought me to get there at first, but now he loves it. He has his own apartment, has a nice brand-new TV, and he can watch the internet. He meets people there, and they dine together, they have breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Right now, he's a very, very happy gentleman and I hope it stays that way. His room is beautiful, he's got a 1-bedroom apartment and he can see the skyline of Chicago, and all the lights and everything downtown. He's got a huge bathroom, walk-in shower, full kitchen, and laundry in the unit. He's got a nice place. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. If there's something that goes wrong, all you have to do is let the patient care specialist know and they take care of it. Although he doesn't take part in much, they have all kinds of activities there. Like today at 2:00, they're having an ice cream social, they have a men's coffee thing that he's been to a couple of times, movies, cocktail hour, all kinds of things. The food is the best part. I'm very pleased with what he's paying and what he's getting.

Lincolnwood Place was well put together. This location was smaller. With less people, you get better care. Other places have three levels of skilled nursing, and Lincolnwood only has one level. It's a community, and it consists of everything including assisted living and memory care. It has a lot of things within the community. It was well kept. It was clean. The people were friendly, and they were well organized. They have a lot of activities. They have day-to-day operations; versus in some locations, people were just sitting in their rooms. They have a special activity every day. They had the physical therapy room, the TV room, and the outside area where they barbecue or something like that. The staff was good, too. It was very clean, and the rooms were clean.

The apartments are spacious and modern and there's good visitor parking. I was there to visit a relative. We saw a library, people playing cards, and the gardening room, and they were all being used.

My brother is scheduled to move in on Thursday into Lincolnwood Place. His wife is in skilled nursing and he will be in assisted living. The nice thing there is he's gonna be on the 2nd floor, and he could visit her. I figured that would be the best place, if they can visit each other. From what I could gather, she showed a great deal of improvement. Before she went in, she couldn't walk and couldn't even stand on her own. Now, she can stand for a few minutes, and she could take a few baby steps, so she's been getting a lot of good treatments. She's been taken care of over there. That's from what I can hear and from what she's telling me, and not being able to visit, that's as far as I can go on that. When I talk to her on the phone, when we listen to her, she's in good spirits, and it seems like she's being taken care of nicely. For my brother to move in, he had to get a COVID shot, so he had the COVID shot over there. To me, it looks like a perfectly nice facility. The outside is an older building, but the inside is nicely taken care of. They've got good security. I can't complain about it. They were very kind and very friendly at the skilled nursing section. When I went in there, I liked that they had a nice reception area. In the background, they had a large TV area, which is nice for the people who are there, and it gives them a warm and friendly area to be. My sister-in-law says the food is good, and they're feeding her quite well. She's a picky eater, and the nice thing is, she's on a healthy diet while she's in there. They're both diabetics, so they're watching her diabetes. They have an open house towards the end of February. I'll get a better chance if I go to it, to see what the food is like over there.

Lincolnwood Place was very nice and well kept. We saw a couple of the apartments. Their layouts were nice. The building was a bit older. My friend liked that they had services from independent through skilled nursing care, which not all of them have. The two people that we dealt with while we were there were very nice people. We had not seen any of the amenities. The staff talked about them, but we hadn't seen anything. The place was clean, it was an older building, and they had done a nice job with keeping it up.

My parents have been living at Lincolnwood Place for a month now and we're very pleased. It's lovely, comfortable, and the assisted living portion was just renovated so it's all new. It's beautifully-decorated, fresh, and the apartments are all freshly redone. I'm also impressed with the staff that I met. The food is very good and we like it very much. They have a lot of different activities, like movies, and they bring in live performers. They have a book group, short story group, and poetry group. They also have weekly outings, and they have free transportation within 7 miles, a nice bus that takes you places. We appreciate that they're more affordable than some of the other places in the area. There are just some things like reminding them to pick up the trash every day.

We are living at Lincolnwood Place, and it's fine. They offer two meals a day, and all the other things, but it's older. It's a big place, it's close to our children, and the atmosphere is nice. They're building, constructing, and changing things. They have assisted living, independent living, and nursing staff. The food is OK, but not like home. Some days are very good, and some are not. They give you enough choices to choose from, and there's always another menu off of the regular menu.

Lincolnwood Place is very cheery and very clean. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful to the people there. They have a choice of the food. There are two or three items on the menu. They have a nurse on-staff all the time there. They have a lot of music type activities, they have people who come in and sing and dance, and they have some religious services, Catholic mass, Bingo, and crafts. It's very nice. I'm very pleased with it. My husband says this is really a nice place.

Lincolnwood Place was a very nice and convenient community. It was a little older, and the rooms needed updating. The people were all friendly and very nice. We had a very good tour. It was a very nice facility overall, but the room sizes were too small and outdated. They had a bath and a half that wasn't wheelchair accessible.

I liked the layout of Lincolnwood Place and the fact that the dining room was open and very welcoming. The people I saw seemed to be very comfortable. The apartment was OK. I saw groups of people sitting around chatting, while others were playing cards. The staff was very helpful. They had a bus that takes people to places, but I was more concerned about where I could park my car. That was one of the things that I didn’t like at all because the parking was very far from the building.

My father is at Lincolnwood Place. We chose this community because it is close and in an area with which he is familiar. It is a continuum of care, so we not only have independent living but also assisted, inpatient therapy, and, if needed, full nursing. It was highly recommended. I have eaten there twice, and I think the food is decent to good. The amenities are excellent. They have many activities, but my father does not participate. From my standpoint, I’m very happy with it. I have very few or no complaints with anything involving the place whatsoever.

I thought Lincolnwood Place was very nice. I would not mind living there. They had good restaurants close by, but you had to walk to parking lots that were not quite the same as being in a downtown city or something like that. The staff seemed nice, and the place seemed well maintained.

We went to Lincolnwood Place for my aunt. They were excellent. The place was great. I thought it would be a good fit for my aunt. It was very clean. The dining room was beautiful. The rooms were nicely appointed. It just looked very modern and bright. In terms of location, it was very convenient for my aunt because it was right across the street from where she was previously living. So it is close to her contact friends and her shopping sources. It is also close to where her daughter lives.

We have visited Lincolnwood Place. My mother really liked it, and originally that’s where she wanted to go. The one thing it has in its favor is because the washer/dryer is in the apartment as opposed to going to a laundry room. It’s a lovely place. My aunt was in the skilled nursing facility for 3 months, and they were great and caring and the staff was great, but if it hadn’t been for Medicare, she wouldn’t be there. It’s an excellent facility, but it’s just above our budget.

Lincolnwood Place is very nice, but very expensive. It's a very clean and well-kept facility. They had all the amenities. They take the residents anywhere, to shopping, bus service. They also have different activities like cards, book clubs, movie nights, all the different things that the residents can do to keep them busy. The staff were very nice and helpful. They offered three meals, but the food was very bad there.

I chose Lincolnwood Place for my father because they had the highest nurse-to-patient ratio. I felt that they were the most caring place and did not feel so clinical. It was small with only 40 beds and was convenient for my mom too. The food was better than most facilities. The rooms were not so outstanding, they were small but acceptable. The manager introduced me to every person we saw when I toured the place. The nursing staff, CNA's and physical therapists seemed very caring and very professional. One of the best things was I could talk to the nurses and the manager, and they pretty much knew the status of my dad at any given time. I thought that they were engaged with their residents.

My siblings and I spent the better part of 6 months visiting various retirement facilities in the Chicago area. After a great deal of deliberation, and the assistance of a geriatric consultant, we chose Lincolnwood Place for our mom. She is physically well and independent but over the past year has been showing signs of memory loss. She has been there for over a month, and we are delighted - and so is she. The staff and residents are friendly, the food is excellent, and the facilities are first class. They have a varied program of activities, and transportation to shopping and cultural sites on a daily basis.
