Morton Villas of Holly Brook had a separate 50s dining room. The staff was friendly. Everybody that walked by greeted you. We went around with the assistant director. We looked in a couple of rooms and then they showed us around for all the different activities where you would go. They're all on one floor. They have one-bedroom apartments and two-bedroom apartments. They do not have studios. They have the schedule on a wall. You can look at the schedule each day and see what they're doing that day and where all the residents are.

We looked at Villas of Holly Brook. It was very good. We walked through the facility. The staff showed us everything and explained everything. It met all our expectations on that. They had more activities, but the folks there were a little more restricted than independent living. They still had trips, they took them to the local stores, and they took them to the different things and they had movie nights and things like that, but they're a lot more structured events for them. The facility was very nice, and the layout was nice. Everything was there. I didn't see as many people. I think those people are a little bit more homebound than independent. It looked to be newer. They had like a 1950-style diner in there for lunch and early meals. They had two different dining areas. The rooms were very clean and a little smaller than the one my mom ended up with at the other place. But for what one needed, they were more than ample, clean, and well kept. The staff were all friendly and cooperative. The facilities were a little bit more modern and newer.

I went to the Morton Villas of Hollybrook. It was nice, new, clean, and looked to be well run. The staff was very friendly. The room was plain, and would be fine for an elder person. They encourage people to personalize and make their own living space. We just got glimpses of the other ones that were all fixed up, and they looked very nice and homey. They had a big activity center, a workout room, like a gym, and in addition to the main cafeteria, they had a fifties diner cafe that looked really nice. They had a bulletin board with a monthly calendar of activities, and it looked like it was packed with activities throughout the month.

We are on the waiting list right now at Morton Villas of Holly Brookand. It was very clean and everyone was very nice and helpful. There was so much for my in-laws to do as far as activities. We did not eat the food but the place looked really clean and I asked some of the residents and they said the food was not bad. The staff were very kind, helpful, and friendly. They seemed to really care about their job. They have a salon and they have a 1950s diner that is so cool that they could eat in. They said they hold church services every week, they have a coffee bar that is really cool, and a movie theater that is really nice.

We had a tour of Morton of Villas, and they were great and very nice. We saw the staff interacting with some of the other residents, and they seemed very helpful. The ones that passed us in the hall were like, "Hi, how are you?" Just seemed very nice. The lady that gave us our tour was also super nice, answered all of our questions, and gave us some different answers for some different things. She seemed great. The facilities were beautiful. I liked the fact that they had a lot of options. They have a 50's diner where the residents can go and get a cheeseburger anytime, or a chocolate milkshake, and just hang out. They had a dining hall too, and a 24-hour cafe if they wanted to go and get a hotdog, or a piece of pizza, or something like that anytime they wanted. Then they have a big community room, with tons of windows and skylights. It had two giant fireplaces in it with very nice comfy chairs, and there were several residents sitting around the fireplace in the chairs reading. They havd two beautiful courtyards that a lot of the rooms opened out onto. You can have your own little patio there with your chair, and my mother-in-law can have her flower boxes as well. Then they have bird feeders and a big fireplace thing outside. In the fall, they have cookouts and things to do outside. It's just very nice. I liked the courtyard a lot, and all the amenities were very nice.

We visited Villas of Holly Brook of Morton. It was a very nice, clean place. They had a lot of convenient amenities that were accessible to the residents just about any time of the day and different programs and activities that the residents can participate in, like playing cards and working on a big puzzle together. They had entertainment that comes in from time to time an shuttle transportation if you need to go to your doctor or to the grocery store. It was very nice. The only drawback was that it is an assisted living home. If you become ill and you need extra care, you would have to go some place else to get proper nursing care since they don't have nursing service. They did not have a swimming pool, but they had a very nice library and a little place where you can get soft drinks and snacks if you want them between meals.
