My parents are in Sunshine Gardens Assisted Living and Memory Care. They were in another facility, but they were raising their rate. They decided that they needed to find a place within their income. We took them to Sunshine Gardens and they liked it. I like the staff. They treat my mom and dad well. Right now, they're in a temporary apartment and it's nice. They've got a refrigerator and a microwave. The atmosphere is nice and homey. They play bingo and they have a band come in every Friday night and my parents like that. They're close to a Huddle House, a Cracker Barrel, and The Hideout, which is a steak restaurant. There are gas stations nearby. Just right down around the corner are strip malls and stuff like that. The dining area is huge. They share that with the activities and they have a little seating area where they can go and sit and watch people come and go. They've got a big fountain or something in the middle. They have nice padded benches they can sit around and there's a swing in there. I think they have enough to eat. My dad got two helpings of fried shrimp. He was happy about that. Mostly in the summertime, they do movies, they put up a screen and they go outside, like in the courtyard, and they have cookouts and watch movies out there. They keep my parents busy. It wears them out.

My mother went to Sunshine Gardens Assisted Living and Memory Care. It was rough because she moved from a home that she lived in for over 70 years and it was a very sad move, but after she adjusted, she liked it. It looks very homey and we've got her set up. She's in the studio apartment so she's not in a big apartment. They have microwaves and they happen and I think they got us the TV stand that they had extra. So, they helped us out a little bit. They are very friendly. I like them. It's one price and the meals are included in that. The food seems to be the highlight. Most of the ladies say they like the food. The cleanliness is great. The building is large. They have bingo and nail polishing. I was just there today and one of the residents was excited about there's going to be a band there Friday night. It is well worth the money.

I visited Sunshine Gardens July of 2023. Wow! This place far exceeded my average expectations. I was met by friendly staff who gave me an extended tour of the entire place. There were choices of room sizes, accommodations, & various floor plans. I loved all the access to direct sunlight throughout the facility. I enjoyed the tranquility of the inside gardens. There seems to be greenery surrounding the interior and exterior. The food options were superb. I did get to chat with a resident and she told me how much she loves living at Sunshine Gardens. The place offers many social activities in and outside the community. There are too many amenities to list but I will try (I am afraid I will leave out some of them): Beautician, beauty/barber shop, mini-convenience store, movie theater activities, private mail box. Bonus + Handrails along all inner walls, wide doorways and open floor plans. No doubt there are more features & benefits to mention. I have a short attention span :-D My tour resulted in an A+ impression.

My dad has moved into Sunshine Gardens Assisted Living. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. They've made it a lot easier on us, the family. The room is very nice, I couldn't ask for anything better for an assisted living facility. Everything's nice, he gets housekeeping once a week. They're doing his laundry. The dining area is very nice. He's a very picky eater, but whatever they serve him, he tends to eat. I was with him for a couple of meals, and it was very nice because they have a person on staff that cooks all homemade meals. They have several activities, but he's not involved in those right now, he doesn't participate in any.

I visited Sunshine Gardens. It's a smaller place that's one level. It was nice and clean. The gentleman showed us the different rooms, and it was just too small. I knew it wouldn't work. We could have gone up to a 2-bedroom, but then you're talking a lot more money. The rooms were just small, and it's very clean. Everything was really good. There was nothing I didn't like about it, other than the small rooms. They didn't have nurses or CNAs. The staff was very nice and very heartfelt in his work there; you could tell it meant a lot to him. It was already past lunch, so we didn't get to see any food. They were all cleaning up afterward, but that was it. We just toured a couple of rooms, then he walked us through the whole facility. They have the hairdresser, and everything else. They did all the therapies, occupation, speech, and the other two; there's four of them. They had a lot that looked out in through the back, which was nice. It is fixed up for going out there, sitting, relaxing, and reading. It was nice. It probably wasn't as extravagant as the others. I rate them overall a three, only because you don't take half points. They're almost up there, but they're smaller. It's in the way I like them, and what they had to offer. It's not knocking the place, it's just that the other ones were way above average.

My mother was a resident of Sunshine Gardens. They're negligent, and they didn't pay attention to the residents. It's overpriced, and the food quality was poor. It had bad ownership and there's lack of management. They didn't really have activities even before Covid. The actual place was clean, but they didn't really housekeep very well inside the apartments. She was there about a year and a half.

I visited the other facilities. The rooms are larger compared to the other facilities of similar range. Staff is very pleasant and supportive. Multiple activities indoors-out doors are available for the residents. They have a salon, spa, movie theater, store, very large dining hall and activity area, I am very impresses with the cleanliness of the place. Kitchen was extremely clean and quite large. Freshly prepared meals are offered to the residents. I feel it is the best facility in Marion area,

We found a community for my mother called Sunshine Gardens. It's very good. I am very impressed with the staff. My mother has a very nice and very clean room. They have a movie theater, a hair salon, laundry facilities, and a dining area. They also have restaurant nights.

I visited this facility. It is beautiful with large apartments and wide corridors. It is maintained very well. Food is great! And there is a movie theatre, large dining area and activity area. Extremely nice, well maintained and affordable. Highly recommend this place!

Sunshine Gardens has a nice backyard with a fence around it. Initially, I thought that would be the place I would like to go, but the rooms were very small. They were even smaller than in the other community. I couldn't live in one of the rooms like that. They didn't have much storage space at all. The staff who assisted me was very nice. I enjoyed talking with her. But I didn't see any activities going on while we were there. They need to improve the size of their apartments. There was not enough storage room, and the rooms were small. Maybe they could make one out of two, and that would be a few more space.

We used Sunshine Gardens for about 5 days. It was very nice. My loved one enjoyed his stay. The facility was very clean. He said the food was good, but I never tried the food. The dining area was nice. It wasn’t like an institution. It looked like a restaurant. He found other men there to sit with, and he enjoyed it. The staff was friendly and helpful. They had a bingo room. He had a sliding door that would go outside to a secured place like a little courtyard where he can sit outside, and there were other men and a place to sit and talk with them. I would recommend this place; I could stay there myself.
