My mom was at Meridian Village in Glen Carbon for rehab. The staff was helpful and caring. They had to quarantine there for a while because of COVID, but they worked out everything. That was really good. She was very comfortable there. She got meals there, she went around the place, and the patio, and she enjoyed it. They have movies and puzzles. She had conversations with the people. I know she found a couple of people to watch the Cardinal baseball game with, so they have a TV lounge and stuff there for them. It worked out pretty well for them. She had physical therapy, and occupational therapy, and they did pretty well.

I visited Meridian Village. The people were very patient. The lady that showed us around was very nice, but when I sat down and looked at their price structure, I shut down. I didn't pay attention anymore. I didn't think it was as clean as the other place I visited. Nothing was dirty, but it just wasnt as clean, like the carpet, that probably needs to be replaced. I mean, there were just little things like that. But being honest, I had to shut down because I knew I didn't like it. The price was way too expensive. The one thing that I did, when I was going through this, I looked at some of their apartments, and they were nice enough; nothing special, but they were nice enough. When we came back and they were going to go for a two-bedroom unit, I told my daughter, "I'm going to sit down because I was done." At that point, I knew I was not interested in this place. They went on, and my daughter likes this place, but they agree with me that they thought it was way out of price range. There was a meal going on while we were there. They did offer us to have a meal there, but we had already eaten lunch, and I was not interested. They have a lot of exercise equipment and that kind of thing, but I didn't see anybody doing that. There was another room where there were some people playing cards, but beyond that, I didn't really notice anything. But a lot of that is my fault because I'd already ruled it out. The only person I dealt with was the administrator there that took us on the tour, and she was very nice. I was not impressed with the facility. I think they need to look at their price structure, it's way too expensive.

My mother was in Meridian Village. It wasn't anything with assistance or anything like that. It was just apartment living for seniors. It was two-and-a-half years ago, and they had an excellent independent living setup, nice size apartments, and a lot of caring people work there. It was starting to decline a little bit when we left. They had restaurant type seating for their meals. You could go down and order food off the menu or you could do their specials. All of a sudden, it got to the point where they couldn't keep a cook, so the food went downhill. I have no idea what it's like now. They had activities, and they took them on trips. It was a pretty active community.

We chose Meridian Village. The reason why we chose it was because it had an indoor pool and an indoor movie theater. It was a larger facility, so it had a little bit more to offer. The price was in our budget. The rooms themselves were larger. Everybody we met was great, so that was really good.

My mother has been in Meridian Village, so we decided not to move her. Our experience with having her there is excellent, it's just pricey. The staff is great and the living atmosphere is very good; it's excellent. The food is very good, too. Before the coronavirus they had water volleyball and games, but since COVID hit they haven't had any of that. You pay a lot and you get a lot, but it's very pricey, and they make charges for everything. If you need something they charge for it, and if you need something else they charge for it. We thought my mom would need to go to assisted living, but we worked something out where she could have nurses come in and administer the care that she needed. It's still cheaper than moving her to their assisted living.

My sister in law is satisfied with Meridian Village, they seem to be taking good care of them, and it's a good thing. The rooms were nice, the food was very good, and it seems they have a lot of entertainment coming in. I was there, and there were 2 or 3 things going on that were very nice. She's been there over a month, maybe 2 months. The facilities are fine, and the staff I have been involved had been very helpful, very nice, and very good.

My grandmother and grandfather moved into the assisted living portion of Meridian Village in the mid 2000s. Their home was immaculate and my grandparents had nothing but wonderful things to say about the staff. My own encounters with the staff and the activities that they planned for the residents were always excellent. My grandparents made friends easily and never felt out of place. It was truly a wonderful experience. When my grandfather passed away, my grandmother was not able to take care of herself, so she was moved to the nursing home facility. At the time, Meridian Village was new and the nursing home area wasn't opened yet, so there was a month when my grandmother had to move in with my family while she waited for the facility to open. Had it been open at the time, I'm positive her transition would have been seamless. As an outsider, I loved what I saw there, and my grandparents had nothing but wonderful things to day as well.

This place is wonderful and very comforting. There were always assistants there just waiting for a request from one of their patients. If you wanted a hamburger at 3 in the morning then they would do it. Everyone in that section would have dinner at the same time every night together at one big dinner table. There rooms were wonderful also. They had a living room with a couple recliners and a big T.V. To me, this village was so comforting.

Wonderful facility. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lots of activities and chances to socialize. Extreme clean and beautiful facility. Checked it out for my parents but when the time comes for me to retire, this is where I want to go.

My grandmother has lived at Meridian Village for 5 years. She absolutely loves it. The facility has full-time staff, highly trained nurses and CNA's, rehab and nursing facility onsite, 3 healthy meals a day, and much more. The facility is clean and classy. There are house cleaning services available and if she ever needs anything, the facility is good about helping her attain it. There is also Activities every day for her to participate in and there is even a pool. She and her family could not be happier that she is in such a great place.

I have been extremely pleased with the quality of care my relative has experienced at Meridian Village Assisted Living Facility. The atmosphere at this location definitely promotes a community type feeling and all the residents as well as any visitors feel very welcome. There are numerous activities available for residents to participate in on a daily basis. The quality of care individuals receive here is definitely better than other facilities I have visited. The nursing staff all truly get to know the residents on a personal level and enjoy spending time visiting with the residents. Meals are served in a professional manner and allow residents the opportunity to socialize with other residents. Overall extremely pleased with the quality of care and would highly recommend to others.

Be sure to ask about the property tax that you will be responsible for. This is a new requirement there.
