My mother is at Providence Healthcare and Rehabilitation. It's a really good facility. Had I known about it before going to the other place, I would have put her in there if they had space available for her. They're trying to get my mom to walk again. They're very attentive. She doesn't feed herself anymore, so they assist her and feed her. She's always being changed and kept clean. The facility itself is very clean. With the exception of one staff member, their services are great, the nursing staff, food service, pretty much everything. I tasted some of my mom's food and it's good. Her food has to be grinded up, so she's getting vegetables, meat, and protein. She's given a dessert and she's given choices of drink, milk, lemonade, water, or cranberry juice. The food is good. It's something that I would eat myself. They have bingo, outdoor facilities, a courtyard, and a nice seating area where families can take the resident out, enjoy a walk or get sunshine if you want to wheel them out there in their wheelchair, which my mom is in. We have done it and it's a spacious area for more than five or six families at a time.

Horrible. Do not send loved ones here. How would you like to lie in bed with a diaper full of diarrhea and no one comes. Attendants overworked, dont wear masks. Laxity of basic medical care. The facility now has 5 covid cases. Voices screaming for far too long. Its like an insane asylum. Dirty. Personal item disappeared. Is this a Christian facility!

My mother just spent 2 weeks there, for rehab to build strength up after a hospital stay. Upon first impressions the place is clean and everything seems wonderful. the truth is the place is a mess, PT staff are great and get their job done, its the nursing side of things seriously understaffed and as soon as you ask a question they blame it on somebody else or get very defensive. They told me she was incontinent she wasn't before, but when you have to wait 1/2 hour before somebody comes to help you to the bathroom yes you become incontinent and then wait in your fecal matter til somebody comes. As she progressed and was able to walk more , she was able to use the bathroom thats great but dont leave the women there for 1/2 an hour she had to knock on the neighbors side of the bathroom door to ask for help since they were not responding to the emergency call button in the bathroom. She was also prescribed lidocaine patches for her knees, If I didn't ask for them each day she wouldn't get them even though they were on her list of medications. At one point they facility ran out of wet wipes and they gave me a towel to wipe her. Yea i was cleaning my mother when i was there as it was faster then waiting for staff. Bottom line is found out from the aides that came from agencies to work a shift that its normal at nursing /rehab homes the staff shortage they pretty much told me they would love to work somewhere permanently but when they don't get paid what they are worth whats the point? Knowing it ws for a short stay it was okay but i couldnt imagine leaving anybody there long term, I had helpless people screaming at me when i walked past their rooms for help. When i told a nurse they just shrugged. I don't wish that kind of attention for anybody's loved one.

Staff and Nurses don’t seem to care about Patients. They seem tired and uninterested in actually helping. The only one who seems to care is the Nurse, Jennifer. Great Nurse. Grandma seemed in bad shape when I last visited her...

Providence Healthcare and Rehabilitation is absolutely lovely and the people are extremely nice. We really like it. It's private pay, but when we get to the point where Mom's money runs out, they have Medicaid beds, and she would be first in line for the Medicaid bed. They also have wonderful activities that they individualize for each person. They take many hours to assess the person to find out what they like. Their food has been great too. I would rate this place very highly.

Choosing a rehab facility is difficult and frankly none of them will probably meet all of your expectations. My family is very much involved and hands on, and visit our loved one every day for an extended length of time. Having been involved with several Rehab centers, I would say this has been the best so far. The staff is very gentle and caring and do most services on routine and without prompting. They are very busy, so we have to ask for assistance (like bathroom trips, etc) because the staff may not check as often as needed. when we do ask for help, it is fairly prompt and always very kind. If we were not there to advocate for our loved one, it may be less satisfactory, but I would highly recommend this facility. The therapists from Marion Joy are great and the facility is clean, with mostly single rooms but shared (between 2) bathrooms.

My mother was transferred here from Good Samaritan Hospital for therapy. The place was horrible. The staff could care less, I would ask for assistance and they never came back. The dining room was freezing anytime night or day while the residents were trying to eat. Had to take a blanket for my mom to be able to eat. While visiting one day in the TV room, two residents were very close to falling from their wheelchairs and the aide was sleeping with her head down on a table, I reported it and another aide came in to wake her up. After the aide left, she went right back to sleep. Short staff, non caring staff and bad food. No stars!!

My mom is at Providence. The staff has been better now than they were before. They are better trained and seem to be doing a good job now. They go out to shop, but they don't have a lot of activities. They show a movie on Fridays and give them popcorn, and every once in while, they will have somebody come in for entertainment. The room is a hospital-type room with two beds, a little dresser, and a shared closet. I wouldn't eat at Providence. It is like institutional food and not very good. The dining area is just a big room with nothing special to it. They put all of the residents in this one big room, and they don't always help when some of them do need the help. They need to improve on the attention given to the residents. Sometimes they leave them in the common room by themselves. With their care plan, they don't always follow up. My mom sometimes isn't taken to the washroom as often as she should be taken; I've found her wet or with stool all over her. They just need to follow a routine with the residents. The cleanliness is fair. It is not really dirty, but there are times where they have not cleaned properly.

My 85 year old mother, an Alzheimer's patient (Mild/Moderate), has been in respite care at this facility while I have been arranging her relocation to be closer to me. The memory care unit of this facility is relatively new (less than a year old), but I have been thoroughly impressed at the level of care she has received. The people are EXCELLENT. The only reason that this is not 5-stars is that the facility itself is somewhat dated but otherwise well maintained.
