My mom is at Ballard. I feel she is mail nourished. She eats but not much. No one checks to see how much she eats. The place looks nice when you come in but when you go see your loved ones floor. The place stinks. Not a good place to put your loved one at.

My mother had a massive stroke in 2014 and was in a hospital for about 1 month and then a short term rehab and was progressive slowly. She was then transferred to Ballard due to her insurance at the time. I must say that was the worst choice ever made. We went to visit and it was nice everyone welcome you with open arms. Once my mom was transfer there things just went upside down. They are very short staffed. The little staff they do have are rude and r not there because they have a passion for helping others but are there for a pay check. Mom was in and out of the ER monthly. And in 2015 she passing away. Ballard calls me and tells me that she was found unresponsive. I started crying and told them I am on my way. I was told by the nurse no don't come wait until the medics come because I don't know what they are going to due with her. REALLY!!!! The medic arrived and was able to start her heart with meds. The police called me and told me to go the ER. Did Ballard really think I was going to stay put in my house. WOW! It takes them more than 1 hours to answer a call light button. If you want to enjoy your family much longer PLEASE don't put them in Ballard. I hate myself for making that choice. In order to post this review I need to rate it but in my book it deserves not star.

When entered this facility you are greeted by a respectable grounds and lobby. The entire facility is neat and tidy with most locations kept in order. The air inside the building reeks of something I cannot identify, but turns the stomach. On the many times I have visited this location I have never seen any unprofessional behavior from the staff. Typically they are kind, if difficult to understand.

My dad had no choice but to go here after he was in Illinois Masonic for almost 2 months. He left Masonic with a trach and a c. bag. He was still very weak and I was under the impression this place was going to get him up and going again. Boy was I WRONG. After staying here for maybe 2 weeks, he was back in the ER. The ER nurse could not believe how DIRTY his trach was. The man was being left in that bed to die. Nothing ever came of it. I TOLD the doctors he will not go back to that scum-hole of a "rehab" facility. He later went back to Masonic, learned how to walk all over again IN THE HOSPITAL.
