My mother is in Alden Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. I chose them just from meeting with the staff. The staff was very helpful, and their outline as far as her care progress really made the difference for me. The layout was pretty straightforward. There are no issues there. The facility is pretty clean. It was clean and well-kept, and everyone that I talked to, as far as the nursing staff, CNAs, and RNs that are there, have been more than helpful. I have no issues with their service at the moment. Her room is pretty spacious. Right now she is currently by herself, so that's good. It's a fairly decent-sized room. I have not tried the food, but she hasn't had any complaints about it. She has some rehabilitation care, somebody comes in once a day, or once every other day to work with her. The nursing staff that's there for the most part, every day, they are talking with her, and keeping her company. They're out in the open, or interacting with the other residents there, too. They do have a parking lot, but it's not big enough for visitors, so a lot of times you have to park on the street. In that particular area, it could be difficult sometimes, and that will be the only drawback.

My grandmother is now at Alden Lakeland Rehab. It's very clean. The nurses are efficient. They are staffed pretty good. The rooms are very clean and huge. They are probably the biggest rooms I've seen in any of the facilities. They have their own private bathroom. It's a skilled nursing facility. The staff are very attentive. It seems like there's enough of them. They have a physical therapy room, a workout room, onsite beauticians, and nail techs. They have a little outdoor patio, a game room, a TV room, a sitting room, a family room, and even a party room if you want to have a private celebration with your family. I have not tried their meals, but my grandmother loves them. They are very presentable and warm. They're not cold when they serve it to her. The place is a little bit pricey though.

Alden places 3 patients per one room. The rooms are too small to house 2 residents let alone 3. My family member’s room mate screams for help but no one comes. (Not during the hour I was allowed to visit). My family member says this guy screams all night long. Oh and it’s filthy here. Residents do not have a phone in their room. Nursing station never (and I mean Never picks up the phone) so be prepared to lose all contact with your loved one. With Covid there has been no visiting permitted. After a month of having no contact with my family member, they finally allowed visiting - only to be shut down 2 days later because a member of the staff tested positive for Covid. My family member’s clothes went missing along with other personal items. There is no follow up. They tell you they will check into the status of things such as follow up appointments with doctors, the current care plan, progress reports. - None of this will be done. Do not bring your loved one here. This place should be shut down.

My mother is in Alden Lakeland Rehab & Hcc. The general appearance of the place is good, but the help they provide is poor. It's pretty clean, especially for being in the city. For a nursing home, it's pretty good, except I saw cockroaches go across the floor a couple of times. They have a problem with insects. The staff is a mixed bag. Some of them are good and know how to take care of my mom. There are a few good respiratory nurses that do a good job, a couple of good CNAs, and a couple of good nurses, but the rest of the staff is terrible. She doesn't get turned every two hours like she's supposed to, and the respiratory staff don't clean around the trache like they're supposed to. Mom just sits in bed all the time and only gets put in a Geri chair twice a week. I requested for it to be done every day or every other day. It's not good. They have a salon, a physical therapy department, and an ice cream parlor. The dining area is OK, but it's not the cleanest place nor a pleasant place from what I have seen. They have the typical nursing home food, which is not very good. The staff is not very reliable all the time. They can greatly improve on having a more reliable or better quality staff overall.

I am a friend of a resident of Alden Lakeland Rehabilitation Center, in Chicago, Il. Overall, I thought Alden Lakeland Rehabilitation Center was a nice facility. The grounds of the facility are fair. It is situated on a Chicago residential block. IT has the feel of a city, with sidewalks and busy streets. However, the property looks nice and well maintained. There are also several benches outside, including in the shade which provided for a nice place to visit. The inside décor, including the furniture and furnishing are nice. There are areas for visiting, recreation, and dining. I did not eat there, but my friend stated that the food was good. She has been there for about 2 years. The staff and management of the facility are very professional, friendly and helpful. I was able to see my friend engage with the staff. The interaction was wonderful to observe. Overall, Alden Lakeland Rehabilitation Center, in Chicago is an above average facility. I would recommend it to anyone seeking a skilled care facility.
