My mom was a resident of BeeHive Homes of Nampa, and our experience was pretty good. The place is homey and comfortable, and the staff is very nice. I havent tried the food, but it smelled good and my mom said it was OK. They have activities, although my mother wasnt able to be involved in much. I thought the value for the cost was pretty good.

I liked Beehive Homes in Nampa. It was sunny, bright, and cheery. The staff was nice. The room I saw was like a studio. I needed a small place for my mom, and Beehive was small; it didn't have a lot of beds. It had a very small place to go outside, too, and it's open to those who live there. It was nice, there was a big room in the middle, and the individual rooms were all around it. The kitchen was on the far end.

My sister needs companionship and she needs meals prepared for her, and we felt that Colony III provides those two things. The staff member was very good and showed us an apartment that would be similar to the one my sister would have when she goes there. She answered any questions we had and she was very kind. It was very clean. The staff member also took us to the places where they have activities. It looked and sounded very good.

We visited Beehive, and it looked dark. The staff couldn’t answer any of my questions, and I didn’t know about the activities they have. The rooms were small and dark. The residents didn’t look happy, and they didn’t act happy, but it didn’t smell bad.

My mother naturally did not want to stay in any type of facility, however these homes have single bedrooms for their residents. Each bedroom has it's own door and it's own bathroom. I thought the homes felt like real homes. They all have a centrally located living room that is wide open to the kitchen where the staff prepares all the meals. A resident is allowed to have specific types of foods held for them in the refrigerators or freezers that they want to have for snacks, of course the resident is responsible for buying them but it is something that is reserved for only them as well. I found the facilities to be lacking in the amount of crafts and activities they claimed to have for the residents. These homes only have room for around 8 to 10 people so they are small enough to be able to give each resident the amount of care needed, they also allow outside agencies to come in and assist with clients if the client was already use to having a particular person bath them. They don't provide transportation to doctor's visits or shopping excursions and that's why I only gave them a 4 star rating.
