My mom has been in Sunny Ridge for about a week and a half now. We were very impressed with the overall feel when we walked in, the friendliness of the residents that lived there, the longevity of time they spent their, and the services available. Several of our friends randomly went and visited once they knew that we were going to have my mom live there. I didn't know they were going to go visit. They just walked in because they wanted to see, and they had the very same thoughts that we had. When you're talking to the residents that have been there anywhere from 3 to 5 years, that says something. They are happy, too. There are senior activities. The day that we were moving my mom in, there was a person that brought in bongo drums or something. There were several people sitting around learning to play bongo drums. They take them to Walmart. They also provide transportation to medical appointments. They have a hair salon and laundry facilities. There are church services on Sunday and different activities going on.

Sunny Ridge was great. Everybody that is my age or older needs to check into it. I checked out the menu. It looked very nutritious.

I liked Sunny Ridge. They were remodeling when I was there. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They showed a small efficiency where your bed and everything is in the room and it had a separate bathroom and a closet and that's it. It's a little bit small for me because I'm in a two-bedroom now with a large bathroom. It was clean. They had a library, and the activities were nice. They were remodeling the kitchen dining room area, so there wasn't too much going on. The library was open and they had games and stuff that you could play. They had a little kitchen area that you could use for snacks and a washer and dryer in that area where you could do your laundry. It was a good setup. They have a bus that can take you shopping or to your doctor's appointments and they have outings.

Sunny Ridge was very nice and very clean. They seemed very caring, but it was like right at $3000 a month and it's something we could not afford. Value-wise, I thought it was good, it was just out of our budget at the moment. I like the area where it is. It's very homey. They were just remodeling. The staff was wonderful. It was in a nice neighborhood community.

We toured Sunny Ridge. It was terrible. It was very institutional. It didn't feel like an independent living situation, it felt more like a higher level of care. The lady at the desk didn't know anything about our visit, so she didn't have any record of us coming that day. She was a little upset that we were there. We saw one room and the main area that was kind of the entrance area. It was dated, and it was old. It seemed to be clean, but it was too institutional. My wife and I both right away said this was not a good place for my mother to be. And the staff was kind of grumpy with us.

We moved into Sunny Ridge. It's very friendly. We like it. I don't like the food. My husband eats it because he likes anything, but I'm not fond of it. I haven't been here long enough to do any activities. The other residents are doing the activities. Our room is big and we love it. They have cleaning services; laundry. They do offer rides, but I don't have a need for them. The residents are very likable. It's cheaper than the other places.

The tour I had at Sunny Ridge was not as good as the other place we visited. I think they were short staffed and it was more of a rushed tour. The lady who took me around had other duties, so she wasn't as prepared. The facility was more spread out, which was kind of nice though. We toured just a studio apartment and it was just getting finished painting. So, they were doing some modifications to some of the apartments. When we were there, the residents were playing bingo. So, that seemed to be fun.

We went to Sunny Ridge. I thought it was a reasonable facility. It's older, but they have done some upgrades on it, and we visited some of the rooms, and some of the residents, and they seemed to be happy. We didn't sample the food there, which we tried to get back and do, and weren't able to make contact with the person. It's an older facility, but it was one of the ones that we felt rated fairly high. As far as the activities, it looked like they had the usual fare of games. The facility was quite clean and tidy, with some renovations taking place. I think it changed hands recently, and they had started some improvements. The rooms were fairly small, they did accommodate, and in one case, we visited the lady that had a grand piano in the room, so there wasn't much else, but at least she had it in there and had access to playing it. They had a large assembly area where they can hold services, they've had weddings there. So that was kind of impressive.
