Be aware of this facility. My mother was on her death bed with stage 4 breast, lung, and brain cancer with just a short time to live, and the administrator informed us that we had to remove her. She stated that the law says that an assisted living facility can not keep a bedridden patient longer than 15 days, and she made us remove her from this facility. This administrator knew my mom had stage 4 cancer and would pass, and assured us that they would keep her until she passed. However, after 30 days or so, she apparently decided to invoke the 15 day state law. Again, this was after 30 days of being bedridden. So, please make sure your loved one doesn't take more than 15 days to die, if they are bedridden at this facility, or you may be having to remove your loved one on their death bed as we did, even though we were told differently. A very distressing, and in our opinion inhumane event for our sick, dying mother and her loved ones.

I’ve found Apple Valley Residence for my mom. First of all, we were very pleased. We’ve already experienced it once before with my mother-in-law living there. They do complete, full care, and it’s very family-oriented, low key, and very clean. If my mother’s finances got to the point where she cannot afford it, they had it set up where they could still take care of the person. That way, she would not have to move, and being 85 years old, that was very important to us. They also have availability for hospice. The facility also is very close to her doctor. I can actually wheel her to her doctor with her wheelchair. It’s a very small community, and the availability of where we’re at makes it easy for me to be able to care for her and the things that she needs. I just love the people there; they are very accommodating and very caring. They had been really wonderful to us between my mother-in-law and my mom.
