My parents moved into Benton Village Assisted Living. The place is very well kept and very well maintained. The staff were very friendly, and the administrators were very helpful. I haven't tasted the food, but my father says he enjoys it. Everything is not an activity, but they take the time to do certain social things with each of the guests at certain times. They may stop and talk with them, walk with them, or have them do a writing exercise. They just have endless things that they actually do with them.

About Benton Village of Stockbridge in Stockbridge, Georgia
Choosing the best option for a senior loved one can be a confusing and overwhelming process. At Benton House, we stand ready to serve you. Let us be your resource for answers.
ASSISTED LIVING:
Balancing Independence & Support
Benton House handles burdensome tasks such as cooking and cleaning so residents can focus on the important things in life. Free from home upkeep chores, our residents can focus on family, friends and fun. But with personal emergency response systems and 24-hour access to staff, residents feel at ease knowing support is available if needed.
Truly At Home With Assisted Living:
Some seniors may need help managing their medications or other types of personal assistance. Our communities offer a variety of senior living & personal care support to match individual needs. Every member of our staff provides assistance discreetly and with great care.
MEMORY CARE:
A point of particular pride for our community is the separate, exclusive neighborhood dedicated to residents experiencing memory loss. Bright and beautiful, our unique Beacon Neighborhood still offers assisted living, but features an innovative design that is open and homelike, yet keypad-protected.
A UNIQUE NEIGHBORHOOD:
Our neighborhood design is an important element of our service philosophy. With just 14 apartments, each neighborhood is large enough to have a community feel but not so large it feels overwhelming. The open design feels spacious but offers residents the reassurance of seeing others are around if help is needed. Each neighborhood also features an enclosed courtyard so residents may continue to enjoy the outdoors.
A UNIQUE LIFESTYLE:
Our Daily Life approach is a special calendar that blends familiar routines with unique events, all designed to celebrate abilities rather than focusing on loss. Higher staffing ratios and a dedicated coordinator are hallmarks of this unique lifestyle approach.

My dad has been at BV for nearly 3 yrs. mostly in their Memory Care. The services have grossly declined. The ratio of care provided per client isn't sufficient, leaving the staff overworked, insufficient coverage to meet client needs, and causing too many incidents putting everyone at risk for a major disaster. Cleanliness, care, and services are all handled by the CNA and med tech staff which isn't sustainable. Clients are left alone seated in the community area or wandering the halls without a caregiver insight for extended periods of time. Client's belongings are continuously lost from poor laundry services and client neglect to watch them as they wander into each other's private rooms, roam through belongings and sleep in their beds. Food is handled by the same CNAs responsible for cleaning/caring for client’s personal needs and hygiene. I've talked with the directors and staff. The staff is stressed out, the director is left to work with the scaled down resources from his leadership, and the regional director is in denial of the conditions of this once beautiful place. Without acknowledgement improvements are inevitable. Price increases with services continuously on the decline. The elderly clients deserve so much better than this. BV please get it together and stop sacrificing quality services for more revenue.

What I like best about Benton Village of Stockbridge is its location. What I like least is that there are floors, so you might end up having to take a unit on a floor where you'd have to take an elevator to get up and down from your room, or from your room to where you dine or whatever. I prefer the facilities that have ground-level accommodations and resident quarters. We were looking for assisted living, but I'm not sure if they separate the care because everything blends seamlessly. I don't know if they have memory care on another floor, because they allow the residence to move and travel throughout the facility. We had an appointment and the staff member was on time, and they were very professional. They offered us food. We were there during a time where they were finishing up meals, and everything seemed very nice. We did not try the food. I think they had clam chowder or something. Some of the amenities and areas there weren't as nice as the others. It was very clean. I actually live next to Stockbridge, so if we needed to check on my mom or do anything, then it would be in close proximity. It's also near an emergency hospital, shopping, and restaurants. It's also easy to get to.

I toured Benton Village of Stockbridge for my mom, and it seemed to be a well-kept facility. Everything was clean and tidy. Plus, they have activities, so that's most important. The person I spoke with was very outgoing and willing to answer any questions that I had. We were able to sample a meal, and the food is OK. It was kind of bland, but it may be due to people's diets.

The tour at Benton Village was very nice. They worked with the schedule we had, and adjusted things so that we could come down to visit. The staff was very nice, and you could tell they were very familiar with their operation from all the information they knew. It's a beautiful place too. The rooms were top notch and like apartmens. I thought the activities were nicely laid out, with the calendars throughout the corridors to let the people know exactly what was going on and where. I thought that was a well-structured facility. The dining area was very nice, they even had an area for special functions for the family. Unfortunately, they have a five-year waiting list.

Benton Village was an older facility, but better than the others we looked at. The rooms were adequate. The staff seemed very helpful, and they had more staff per resident. The residents were exercising when I was there. They were pretty cognitive and active, generally happier, and not out of it. The dining area was clean and open air. The food looked nice on the menu, but I did not see or eat it. They had a courtyard, but not a lot of amenities. Everything was secure.

Benton Village seemed fine. I noticed that there were some lights that needed light bulbs replaced, so the maintenance wasn't quite up to par. I only visited once.

I really didn't like much of anything about Benton Village. It was pretty outside, but the rooms were so tiny I couldn't imagine living in them. There were also so many hallways to maneuver that it would take you forever to get from one place to another. It was very much spread out. The people were nice.

Benton Village was very nice. I liked it, but it seemed to be cost prohibitive. The rooms were very clean and very nice. They showed me an activity room and that was okay. They were very nice and very professional. I liked their attitude. I have nothing bad to say about them at this point in time. They also had a reading room.

I personally liked Benton Village of Stockbridge. I liked the way the apartments were set up. There was a whole lot of activities because we got there right before lunch. We just dropped in and walked around. I just liked the fact that it was more of a home atmosphere. The dining room was nice and clean. They were setting up for lunch, and they had their napkins placed very nicely; it was very elegant. The staff was very helpful. This would be some place I would like to live.

Benton Village was very clean, homey, and comfortable. My mother likes it as they have been wonderful to my mom. They have bingo, ice cream social, book club, and cooking where they let the residents cook a little bit. She likes the food, and they offer substitutes if she doesn’t like something that they’re going to be having for the day. I am very pleased with them.

Benton Village is an older facility, they did have a courtyard for the residents to go outside, and it has a more homelike setting. It’s sufficient to allow the residents to move about. However, it was expensive.

Benton Village of Stockbridge was a modern community. We liked that it was very bright and had lots of lighting. The people were extremely nice. That area had a nice shopping area and a supermarket.

The staff at Benton Village of Stockbridge was very helpful, provided me with their rates, and showed me around. Their common dining room was pretty wide open with a lot of windows and small tables where people could sit and talk to one another if they wanted to. They also have different common areas. They have a variety of rooms like a one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and studio apartments. The facility is not new, but it's very clean.

Benton Village was in a nice location, but one hallway just had a very strong urine smell, and I didn't really like that. It seemed like a very nice facility, but the person who showed me around actually took me around some residents' rooms when they were not there. That seemed fine for me, but I don't know if I would want anyone just walking in my parents' house when they are not there because they had a key to show it to someone else. The rooms were nice. They were small apartments, but they were more like studios. Other than the urine smell, I thought it was a very nice location. It was a lovely facility, and they had memory care, which was actually what I was looking for. It just seemed like somebody wasn't cleaning enough when they should if you can smell urine in the hallway.

We visited Benton Village and we liked it. The facility was near our doctors, hospitals, church and it was convenient. We talked to some of the residents and staff; we decided it was good. The staff were very accommodating, attentive and caring. It seemed well-managed and well-kept. We sampled the meals and it was very good. They had a set menu but they also had a menu where you ordered from if you did not like the main menu. They had different activities and also occasional trips.

My brothers picked out Benton Village for mom. Everybody there was just wonderful. We were treated very nicely. They were so sweet to my mother. She's got dementia and she's been very upset because she had to leave her house. There, she was just given so much attention. I'm glad because sometimes people just don't do that. If she doesn't come for her meal, they are down there with her tray. They're just very caring and thoughtful. They treat her like a family. I liked the place. I couldn't find anything wrong with it. I would live there, it wouldn't bother me! She's got a nice one bedroom deluxe. The food was really good. I did not meet one person there that wasn't just as sweet and helpful. One more important thing is that it didn't smell like a nursing home at all, or I wouldn't have handled that.
