My mother is very upset with how things have seemed to go down hill with the change in management and leadership. She doesn’t feel her opinions or suggestions are being listened to or respected. It’s a shame as she has lived her for a very long time but is now very unhappy.

I do not feel this facility is worth the money I am spending. My room is never clean, the staff is rude, and the food is nasty.

This place is just nasty. My mother’s room is always very nasty to where she’s taken it upon herself to try to clean. To be paying almost $5,000 monthly you would think she wouldn’t have to clean her own room. And good luck trying to talk to the manager- she’s never there!! The staff can be very sweet but management needs some serious work. They need to be quality checking things like this. This is just one of my main issues here.

My father currently lives at John-Wesley Villas for a few years now. Started in the apartments and then moved to assisted living when his health declined. I can’t say enough about this community. But the apartments and assisted living is the best in town. They treat my father so well. The apartments had great amenities as far as meals and house keeping. Now in assisted living they take all the stress and worry from him. He gets to just enjoy himself doing the activities and parties and hanging out with his friends. They do all the meal prep/chores/house keeping, plus keep him safe. The staff loves him like their own parents! I’m so blessed to have him there. They’re currently having big renovations to improve and update the property, it’s nice to know they are putting money back into the property for the residents! Food is always good, dad had lost weight when his health declined but gained it all back in assisted living- which is a good thing!

My mother-in-law moved into John-Wesley Villas of Macon. It looks lovely and she is very happy there. They are full service. They have a full cafeteria and transportation to and from doctors' appointments or the grocery stores if needed. They have a nurse on staff that they are able to get right now if they need Covid shots, and they have somebody that can give them general health checks without them having to schedule appointments with their physician. The independent apartment has full kitchen, laundry room, bedroom, large closet, and a handicapped capable bath for showering. The staff has done wonderful. With Covid they are not letting the outside public into their common areas right now.

I've been in John-Wesley Villas of Macon since November. It's a little cheaper. They are friendly, very accommodating, and they look out for you. They have a very comforting and courteous staff. The food is really good, too. They give us a choice, like an entrée if we want, and it is delicious. Although some days I would rate the food a four and some days a five. The apartments are clean. It's not really big, but it's just enough. They have all the amenities that I need, like the washer and dryer. They have a nice-looking kitchen area. The apartments here look good. Because of the pandemic going on, they don't do as many activities as they are used to doing.

My mom has moved into John-Wesley Villas of Macon. It's excellent. The 1-bedroom apartment is great for her, and it's clean. The activities are different right now because of Covid. It's a good facility, but because of Covid, they're restricted. They have a lot of activities, but it is just restricted right now. I'm just very pleased with everything about the facility. It's a well-maintained facility. Everybody is very nice and very informative all the time. My mom really likes them.

At John-Wesley Villas, they serve three meals if you are in assisted living. They have stoves and refrigerators in the independent living units, but not in the assisted living.

We are choosing John-Wesley Villas because the room that we are getting is down right off the dining hall, and my mom can’t walk very far, so this is very convenient for her. They’ll be doing her medication management, and they check on their patients every two hours, which is what we need for my mom. They provide a shuttle service if my mom needs to go to her doctor’s appointments.

Our Mom has been at John Wesley for about a month and a half now. At home, she was a shut in much due to her choosing. The staff at John Wesley has been wonderful giving her time but encouraging her to come out of her shell. The residents accepted her with open arms and she is making friends again. Unfortunately, she had lost sight in one eye and sight in the remaining eye is not very good. Everyone (staff and residents) have been very helpful as she learned her way around the facility. They made sure she became aware of her surroundings and helped her adjust. She is now smiling, laughing and her overall health has improved. Thank you John Wesley!

After visiting several assisted living facilities in our area, our decision to move our 85 year old Mother to John Wesley was a no brainer. My sisters and I made multiple visits to this facility prior to reaching this decision and never once did any of us have any concerns with the facility and the care our Mother would receive. Amanda and her team made our Mother's transition a very easy process. John Wesley's grounds are beautifully landscaped, meals are delicious and well prepared with several choices for each meal, hair salon on site and several outings planned each month for the residents. The staff from upper management to nursing staff, dining staff and even maintenance staff are quick to respond to any request you may have. Their activities director does an outstanding job encouraging the residents to participate in different activities and to visit with other residents. Overall, my sisters and I could not have chosen a better place for our Mother.

John-Wesley Villas was very nice, and it was more upscale. However, I think the reason that my mother was not impressed with it was there was not any activity that was going on, and it was a Saturday when we visited, so it was just kind of a drag. The apartments were all studio apartments, and they had little outdoor patios, which were nice. The studio apartments were large but they all opened into one big, great room. There weren't any hallways, they just opened into the big, great room where the activities and the dining took place. The person that we dealt with -- who I guess was the person who was trying to recruit new business -- was very nice and she knew my mother from previous encounters, but the manager was a different kind of person. I think she really scared my mother.

This assisted living facility is exceptional. The staff is the best I have seen in the Macon area. They really encourage the residents to be as independent as possible. The staff is also very upbeat and the resident care assistants have a passion for their jobs. Volunteering would be a great idea for anyone looking to dedicate their time to helping the elderly. I also appreciated their private dining rooms so residents could invite their families for sit down dinners whenever they liked. The residents responded very positively to the staff and you could sense the trust they both had for each other. The atmosphere is positive and carefree, just like they would be if they were in their own homes with no assistance. There were many physical activities too - swimming, arts and crafts, piano, ect. that are available for the residents to use. Overall, the place gets a huge applause for atmosphere. It makes all the difference!

My ggrandparents stayed in this assisted living facility until they passed away last year. The staff was very kind to both of them, but it was also very firm with their standards. Despite the stubbornness of both of my grandparents, they very kindly made sure that they got plenty of safe exercise, kept a good diet, and maintained a good relationship with their doctors. When my grandfather passed away, my grandmother was very heartbroken and they really tried to make her comfortable in his absence. They allowed her to keep his name card at his seat at the dinner table so that she could keep his spot until she passed away. They listened to her and were very good to her. I am very thankful for the staff being so pleasant and sweet, and I know my grandmother was too.
