If could give 0 star I would. Started out where promises were made by the owner and not kept. My father fell several times and no one could tell us why or what happened, or how he ended up with a lumbar contusion, head injury, badly bruised arm and fractured foot. WE were VERY clear about his needs. We were told they were capable of caring for him.All this happened after facility was locked down during Covid for resident protection and I was unable to visit on a regular basis. I do not recommend this facility for anyone who can not fully take care of themself. Its a 22 bed facility with only 6 to 7 residents and my father still ended up in a position that he could not recover from, even after taking him home and giving him the best of 24 hour care. He went into the facility walking strong and able to use his arms just fine. Within one months time after facility locked down he went from being able to not able to walk or move his right arm. We were told he fell but no one knew how it happened. Several times during visits I would notice there was only one person working the shift. Several times I had to clean the room up myself due to after several daily visits the room was not clean, and the bed not made and he would have on the same clothing. One visit he was soaking wet with urine and I assisted the staff with cleaning him up and when the brief was removed it fell apart on the floor. I should have followed my instincts then and moved him. I found out about the several falls from the EMT's that had been called out several times that we were not aware of . June 4 while picking him up for Dr. appointment I was told he could not return with out 24 hour care. So he was basically thrown out, which was illegal. With the help of my sister after his appointment we moved his things to my home. Set up home care and then received a call saying he could stay but will have to have 24 hour care by Friday. They realized it was illegal what they did. We were not about to take him back there after such treatment. I shudder when I think about the fact that I had convinced 8 other people to take their parents there. After letting them know what happened with dad they changed their mind and thanked me. My dad died July 1,2020 one month after removing him from that facility. Daily he would say he just didnt know why they would make him hit his head on that thing. I would ask what he was talking about but he would just say those people at that place. He suffered with dementia so his memory was fuzzy. After all this they refused to refund his money. I understand keeping the cost of 3 days that he did stay there but to charge for cleaning 17 year old furniture 250.00 said damage to two old recliners because of urine 500.00, air conditioner servicing 250.00. Totally ridiculous. No I would never ever tell anyone to take a loved one there. We expect our parents to pass away but I never in my life thought I would have to watch my parent suffer such un-necessary pain. All due to placing him in a place where staff was not trained as we were told they were. They didn't even know how to transfer a person from chair to bed as I found out during a call in which I was told they were taking a class at the moment on how to transfer people from wheelchair to bed. No one is capable of doing what the owner said they were capable of doing. I wish I would have just paid 2400.00 a month to someone to just take care of him at home. He would most likely be still alive.

I toured Emerald City Lodge with the retired educators, and the lady came up to speak to us during one of our meetings, but since it was the first one I toured, I was impressed with this one also because the facility is smaller. The dining area and everything was nice, well set-up. I was impressed with the staff. They talked about the fact that if you move in, you could have keep your own vehicles, and once you're able you can leave whenever you wanted to. The facility is close to the downtown area.
