I moved into the Villas at Canterfield. I looked at probably twenty-to-twenty-five different facilities, and overall, it was absolutely the best available -- plus it was only three miles from my grandchildren. Being close to grandchildren was the primary decider, but it is also a first-class facility in every way. I am in an independent home villa. The facilities are magnificent, and the staff is magnificent. The home that I am in is virtually brand new, I do not have to do any yard work at the house, I do not have to do any housekeeping, and if I don't want to, I don't have to do any cooking. I have full cable-TV access, and I have high-speed Wi-Fi. I cannot think of anything bad to say about them.

The tour I had at Villas at Canterfield was excellent. They have many activities, they have a beautiful pool and beautiful gardens. They have multiple programs as they go off-site, they have people come in, and they have Bridge clubs. They just got a lot going on. They have very friendly staff and I talked to several residents who love it there. So, my visit was completely positive. The facility was in great shape. We weren't able to tour any of the villas themselves because they're full. So we're on a waiting list now for the villas. We were able to tour an apartment in the independent living building, which was OK, but we wanted a freestanding villa with a garage and a fireplace. The dining area was nice, basically like the cafeteria, but they also had a bar where you could sit down and have a happy hour there. Then if you don't feel like sitting in the dining room, you have containers that you can bring down and get your food and take it back with you, or if you're feeling unwell, they will bring your meals to you.

I visited Villas at Canterfield. They have music that comes in on Fridays. When I went there, somebody with a guitar came and they had everybody set up in the main area. They were listening and they had little hors d'oeuvres for them, and they were watching this person sing. Some of the little old ladies and men were up dancing, but all the staff was there with them enjoying it. The rooms were a good size. This is a bigger place. They have an elevator, but it's only three floors, so it's not really that bad. They do everything from independent to memory care. At the time, I was looking at assisted. They had several different type of rooms that you could choose from. They had a little movie room, a little game room, a library, a spa to get your hair done, and a pool for the independent living. The cottages are in one place, the assisted is in another, and memory care is on another wing. It was nice and clean. The staff was very attentive. I also have a neighbor that sent her mother up there. She started out in independent care and now she's in memory care. They help evaluate the residents. They recommended it to us.

I went to Villas at Canterfield. I visited their assisted living and memory care. I felt that it was too much for my mother's needs. My mother needs assisted living; but the dining room is on the first floor, the salon is on the second floor, and the exercise room is on the third floor. I prefer a one-floor community and that's based on my mother's physical condition. The staff who accommodated me was absolutely outstanding. The rooms were a little bit smaller than what I'm looking for. Everything looked fine. It was clean. It was well-kept. The grounds looked very nice. There were people outside walking in little groups, which was nice to see. The dining room was very large. It was already set, and it was very spacious and light.

I went to Villas at Canterfield for just a short visit. It seemed to be a very nice facility, but I felt like I was a little rushed going through the tour. I didn't get as good a vibe going through there, and I kinda didn't feel like that was the place for my dad because there seemed to be mostly women. I prefer to have my dad some place with more men. The rooms were nice and looked clean. I didn't see any person's room. The sample room seemed clean and spacious, like you would hope for, but there weren't closets. They have a bus that takes people places, but I don't know if they bring in entertainment or anything like that. We're in the middle of COVID, and they really can't tell me what they're going to be able to do going forward unfortunately. It looked clean and it would've been a fine location, but I wasn't sure that that was quite the place for my dad. It was very nice and it had multiple floors. It just wasn't my cup of tea. You have a car port in the front, and it's got four or five floors that wrap around. It's a fairly new building.

Villas at Canterfield was fabulous. The reason I didn't pick them was they didn't lock their doors, and if you have somebody that's not quite memory care, but who might wanna walk out, they wouldn't stop them, and I didn't like that. I don't remember the rooms, because they're just empty rooms. The staff was very nice, eager to please for us to pick them, and they're so good. The dining area looked very nice and very, very big, and it looked like just a large restaurant dining room, but it was all over open, and for people who use walkers, there was nothing to trip them up.

The rooms and the staff at Villas at Canterfield have been above expectations. My dad is pretty much at the top level in memory care. So far, things are so good. We've had communication issues to work out but the staff have been accommodating with that. They also have a happy hour and they also have church.

Wow, I'm so happy that the management and staff are working hard to protect my mother during the COVID-19 pandemic. You guys rock. A heartfelt thank you to all the staff that have opted to live in house and put your personal lives on hold to mitigate the possible exposure of your residents to this virus that's going to take so many elderly. I seriously can't thank you enough for going beyond the normal and expected to keep my Mother and her friends safe. Prayers and hope the virus is kept at bay until the pandemic has passed. Blessings to you for making this wise decision.

My 91 tear old mother has been a resident at The Villas At Canterfield in their memory care unit for over 6 weeks and my I feel this is an excellent personal care home. My mother is already adapting very well and receives very loving care by their staff. She has said the staff treats her like she is a queen. They have good meals with snacks in between meals and plenty of activities to entertain them. By design there are always a number of staff members available to keep a close eye on the residents in memory care. This is a beautiful well run facility and we highly recommend them for anyone looking for a personal care home.

The Independent Living is so very beautiful! We loved our tour and brought friends on a second visit to entice them when the time comes. A little early yet but we have toured 5 other residences and NONE compare to Canterfield. You are our first choice when the time comes but I feel it’s good to start searching early. We are 72 and reality begins to sink in that you cannot maintain a place forever AND need companionship and events to keep your mind working . You have everything

Mom lives at The Villas of Canterfield. She went in as respite since I had a vacation coming up. When I got back, it went well, so she moved in as a resident. They serve 3 meals a day. I have eaten several meals in the dining room and they were good. Of course, I picked and choose the meals based on the menu provided for the month. Some are full meals and some are sandwiches. The big meal of the day appears to be lunch. They offer an alternative menu if the regular meal is not what someone wants. My mother has an efficiency room and while it is not large, it is larger than some of the newer facilities opening up. There are way worse and much nicer facilities in my area but the price seems fair for this community and what is offered. The caregivers I know are compassionate, helpful and willing to make adjustments based on the needs and desires of mom. The front office staff is wonderful and help me work through elder paperwork, site doctor visits, listen to my suggestions, etc. My mother tends to spend her days downstairs in the common areas reading the newspaper, watching TV where the fireplace is or participating in the activities they have going on. As far as activities, they play bingo, dominoes, card and dice games as well as crafts. They often have movies after dinner and Friday happy hour. My mother is not in memory care but does have dementia. She will end in memory care at some point. Right now, the furniture in that area is large and dark brown which makes the space seem small and dark. I have been told they are working on new furniture which would improve the appearance of that area. The staff in memory care are eyes on and caring just like the main area. Mom does not need a go, go, go lifestyle and The Villas has become her home.

Villas is a brand-new place. The people who took us on a tour were not up to par, and there were a limited number of people living there, so we didn't meet anyone who was living there. There wasn't a progression of care. They had a separate villa for assisted living in the same compound, but the staff was not interested in giving us a tour of that place. We were not impressed with it. The rooms were fairly well laid out and nice but not homey. It was a poor tour that could be done better.

I loved Villas at Canterfield. I would live there. Unfortunately, for my mother, though, they don’t have long term care. Very friendly staff, very clean, very modern, and new. The rooms were lovely. It was just a top notch facility. I thought their pricing was great and definitely was in my price range. The grounds and location were beautiful. You get your own private room. It was perfect for us.

I loved the rooms at Villas at Canterfield because they had high ceilings. You didn’t feel like you were cramped, and they were very well appointed. They had plenty of windows, and all the amenities were wonderful. The grounds were lovely and the color scheme inside was very uplifting and warm. If I had the money, I would have gone there. They had all sorts of activities, including a beautiful swimming pool that was covered, gated, and fenced in and was a part of the main building. It had a beauty shop for the women and a barber shop for the men. It had physical therapy, regular workout rooms for the folks, a little library, and a place where you could play card games or whatever you wanted.

I very much like Villas at Canterfield as it has a really good list of amenities and daily activities for the residents. It’s bright, cheerful, and clean and has a wide variety of floor models. They served me a very delicious lunch.

In August 2013 we decided to move here after visiting several other communities. We liked the modern and beautifully designed rooms and common area and were quite impressed with the accessibility to upper management. One of the most important criteria was the food. At that time they had a full time chef and we were invited to join them for breakfast, lunch & dinner (which we did on separate days). Being "foodies" and enjoying cooking that is was sold us and we signed a lease agreement. Sadly ~ shortly thereafter ~ the chef left and the food has barely been palatable. Most all of the residents complained individualily and/or as a group directly to new management "Dusty" to no avail. Vegetables are over-cooked to the point of mush, main courses serve frozen foods which are extremely difficult for most of the residents as it's very difficult to digest so close to bedtime. Most meals come already prepared and the "warming" leaves the food tasteless and intolerable. There is no variety which often leads us to buy our own food and prepare it in the microwave. If something is not done to correct this very dire situation you can count on us leaving and telling ALL of our friends not to be fooled by the beautiful grounds and modern amenities. Regretfully..

I have had my parents at The Villas at Canterfield for a year now and while it was a little rocky to begin with things quickly became stable once new management came in. It is a beautiful facility and they have care givers that give SO much to the residents. Activities are wonderful and the food has a lot of variety and is tasty! This is the third community my folks have lived in and the thing that truly separates them from others is the accessibility of the management. Any issue that may arise- once brought to management’s attention is addressed and handled. To me- that is big deal, because there are always going to be issues, but if they are addressed then we can move forward. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone that has a loved one that needs this type of assistance.

Some days, the staff at The Villas is good. The ones that are there lately are dedicated. The room is enough and adequate. But the food is mediocre and so-so. They have activities, bus trips, and social hours. They could improve by firing the manager.

My in-laws have already made a decision for The Villas. I think the facility has only been around a couple of years. They have 3 levels of care: independent living, assisted living, and memory care. Facilities were beautiful. Great staff, well-designed rooms. They have lots of activities that they take people to, and their independent-living has not been finished yet. They're just starting to build that, and we got in their first unit. So they're going to have a lot more amenities once that is all built out. The food is pretty good. The rooms are great. Big closets, big bathrooms. They are very well designed compared to a lot of the places I saw. They have 1-bedrooms in assisted living and several different studios, and then in independent-living, they have 2-bedrooms.

The Villas at Canterfield is a new facility, about two years old. They are building an independent living facility, which would be available probably the latter part of this year, so I am targeting that, but for the moment what they have is assisted living, and I am very impressed with the layout of this facility. The rooms were very nice from the standpoint that they have balconies. I like the barbecue outdoors. The one that they showed me, which was already occupied, had a nice outdoor covered porch where they could have a barbecue grill.

Please do not put your loved one in this place!! I learned the hard way and will never forgive myself. Looks can be deceiving. There Are some great people who work here but a few good employees was not enough to keep my Dad There is a reason it's only at less than 50 % occupancy after over a year. stay away from place:'(

The Villas at Canterfield had a tiny, little room with a bed, dresser and one chair but the price was quite high.
