My husband has moved into Highland Manor. It's pleasant, clean, well-kept, friendly, safe, and quiet. However, when you try to get anyone to help you, it's kind of hard to get someone because they're understaffed. The manager goes between two other properties, so sometimes there's no one there when you need someone. He's in a one-bedroom and it's nice. It's handicapped style. The shower's very nice. It has handles. It's easy to get around. The facility has ramps for wheelchairs. They have elevators, too. It's very accommodating. They have get-togethers on special occasions and they have little hors d'oeuvres and things to try to get people together. There are a lot of meeting areas where you can meet people if you want to. As far as any organized activities, they don't have much organization because there's not enough staff there to do what's needed. The manager is very good. She's very helpful when she's there. There are no meals. For special occasions, they might have something catered, but there's no cooking involved there. There's a fully equipped kitchen. They don't offer that many activities. If you're wanting something like you would get at assisted living, it's not there because you're paying half the amount or a lot less than half the amount. It's rated on your income, so for what you're paying, it's fine.
