My dad is currently at Renaissance Senior Living Of Vero Beach. He loves it there. It is excellent. It's easy for him to get around, and he can get around in a wheelchair by himself. It's a two-story, and there is a memory care facility along with it, but he is in the assisted living facility. He has a studio apartment, and he has all his things there. The food is excellent. The participation of the residents is very good. He's made a lot of new friends, and they have a lot of wonderful things for him to do that he participates in. For what all he gets, I think the price is very reasonable. It's more than what we wanted to spend, but it is very reasonable compared to some of the others that he has looked at. The attention that he gets is excellent. They're always checking in on him. The nursing staff are there, but they're not hovering. They're not always around, but they're there when they need to be. My dad has very good communication with the administration, and with everybody that he needs to have communication with. For activities, they have singalongs. They have whatever-night football that men love to watch on TV. My dad plays dominoes with a few of the elderly gentlemen there. They have movie nights, too. They have their own bus, and they take the residents to different restaurants in town about once a month. The food is exceptional. I've eaten there a few times and it's great. The housekeeping is great. He loves the assistance that they give him. For dining, they just go to whatever table they want to sit at, and they've got waitresses that come and brings them their food. They have a chef, too.

Neither my father nor I were too keen on the rooms at Renaissance Senior Living of Vero Beach. We were shown two rooms and they need a lot of updating, even though the building's only five years old. They showed us one that had some newer carpets in it. I could tell by the smell that it was a newer carpet, but we did not get the same homey feel throughout. The facility was nice and clean. The thing that grabs you the most at Renaissance Senior Living of Vero Beach is they have a lovely grand foyer. You walk in and think "Wow, this is amazing." but then outside of that, it just falls flat. Jerome was the director that assisted me and I adore him. I told him we'd become friends and I would go visit him. I liked him that much.

We went to look at the Renaissance Senior Living Of Vero Beach. The one who showed us around was only with the company; I think that was her second day, but she sure knew everything about it. She was very good. The physical appearance was very nice. When you got off the elevator and were on a different floor coming down, the activities were all very close to where they had movie night, crafts, and different things that they did.

I think Renaissance Senior Living of Vero Beach saved my father's life from coming out of another horrible facility. They're high-class. They treat everybody wonderfully. Everyone's got some really good freedom. They have excellent meals and my father gained back all of his weight and almost all of his abilities. He's playing dominoes every night with other guys on his floor and he's super happy. His apartment is small, but everything's good compared to where he was. They watch football games. They have a large screen TV in the community room and they've brought in some musicians and singers that have done some really good programs that folks liked.

We had set up an appointment to tour this facility with Jerome. We arrived on time to find out that Jerome was not even available. No text, call or any notification. OK, we thought they would have someone else to provide us a tour of the facility, but NO, we could sit and they would check. We sat in the lobby and waited but had an opportunity to talk with a patient. The patient told us that some of the staff were very kind and hard working. However others hid out and it could take 1-2 hours to answer their bell/call light. The patient needed therapy and had to go to an off site facility to get his PT. After waiting for over 30 mins for staff to get back with us on our tour, nobody ever came back. So we left. If they are that non-responsive to get residents to move in, I would HATE to see how they treat their residents!! Less than impressed!

Our tour at Renaissance Senior Living Of Vero Beach was pretty cut and dry. We talked to Jerome, he's the executive director. At first, he said they didn't take Medicaid, and then he said they did take Medicaid, and he said he would be back to me in an hour but he never called me back. I told him what we were looking for and he just never got back to us. They weren't very receptive and I didn't get a very welcoming feeling from them. It's a very beautiful place, there was lots and lots of activity going on and lots of residents were having a good time. It looked like a perfect place, it looked pretty clean and very nice. We were quite interested in that place but when they didn't call back, I just got put off. The people looked well-cared for and they were having fun.

Renaissance Senior Living of Vero Beach was very nice, and they offered basically all of the amenities. They had a little outside garden area to sit outside. Upstairs there was a porch. There was nice lighting throughout. It is easy to maneuver (just the left and right type of thing). They were just a little pricier in that sense. I only worked with the salesgirl, and I saw somebody with the cart with medication. I didn't see a lot of staff or activity.
