This review is for the rehab section. My Mom spent almost 2 weeks here after being released from the hospital. The nurses and aids and PO and OT personnel were professional and helpful. The room was clean and adequate storage was provided for her needs. You do need to be an advocate as far as needs not normally performed--- daily BP checks and lab work ordered by outside doctors. My Mom enjoyed the food and I was able to eat lunch with her at no extra cost. The case worker Linda was wonderful and accommodating, as the assisted living facility we were transferring her to across state required numerous forms, emails etc.

My aunt is in AdviniaCare Venice for a month now. I have very mixed feelings, it's been a nightmare in a lot of respects. I don't like anything about it, but that doesn't mean that it's bad. The care team has been very good. But the staff, the CNAs, the workers, they all have a very bad attitude. It's just a very depressing place to be. We're having a care team meeting tomorrow, so I will be getting more updates. But it does seem that the wound which is a bed sore was very, very bad, and it just hasn't seemed to be getting better. She's been to the hospital a couple of times. It's a typical nursing home, not a very positive environment, it's very sad there. They do have games that my aunt participates in. They have bingo, trivia, and singing, I guess. She plays bingo, and she has friends that come in, and play cards with her. My aunt doesn't like the food, but it looks fine.

I was sent to your Skilled Nursing unit by Sarasota Memorial Hospital in June 2022. Having never been in a facility before I did not know what to expect and there was information that was not shared, you just learned as it happened. Such as I was scheduled for a shower Monday and Thursday. It was only after several days of asking that I was told I was on the schedule for the following Monday. It is my understanding that the head of Food Services had left a few days before I arrived. While we were provided menus to select each meal you never knew what you would receive until it actually showed up. The reason was normally they were out of the particular item but you were not allowed to make another selection even if it were something you would not eat. Many of the meals were tepid at best when they arrived in the skilled nursing area. Perhaps the service and meals were better in ALF. It appeared that the majority of the staff members (CNAs) were not employees but from outsourced from several companies. Some of the staff were very kind and offered good care. Others were gruff and some came in, did what they were there for and did not say a word even though I was trying to talk to them. I understand some of those did not speak English. Response to the call button when assistance was needed was sporadic. It depended on who your CNA was. At times it to 45 min - 1 hour + for a response. I realize they were understaffed and there was no one to lead the Food Services but certainly hope that by now these issues have been resolved.
