Beware. This facility can terminate lease agreement without any notice and lock your loved one out of their apartment . You will have to schedule an appointment with the Interim Director; a day and time of her convenience. They will say you have 14 days to move out but then tell you they only have 2 available days they can schedule an appointment, both in the morning hours and during a weekday.

Tapestry Senior Living Walden was as nice as the other place. I just didn't see any advantage, it is farther east of Tallahassee, and we were hoping to get my mother a little bit closer to us. I didn't see anything that made me feel like it was advantageous for her to move farther out. Everything was pretty nice. I didn't feel the same as far as the homeyness, although it was not unfriendly or anything like that, it just didn't hit me the same way. They did gardening, those activities in the spring and summer. They do not have a pool, but she doesn't use one anyway. They had three meals a day, housekeeping, and laundry. They were a little bit higher in their monthly costs. We did eat lunch there, and the food was very good. They had a large selection of items for the meals.

I went to Tapestry Senior Living Walden twice and dealt with one of the owners. The memory care area was too little and my husband would have gone to a semi-private room for two people with very little space for him to walk around. They were kind of one big room with a wall in between and then there is a shower that two people have to share. The place was nice, though, and then they have a small patio downstairs. The saleslady I talked to and everyone was very nice, but after I signed the paperwork, I asked the owner if I could walk on the second floor one more time, where he would be staying. When she tried to open the door to the room that they were supposedly going to give him, nothing worked. That saleslady a week before had a problem trying to get that door lock open up too. They had over the weekend to fix that, but the problem was still not being addressed. The owner was embarrassed because she wanted to show that room to me. Even their little slide card that functioned as a master key would not open up that door. So, I told them that if it does not work out, I can always pull him out, but they were not able to pick him up on the day he was supposed to be picked up. I got a call from the financial director, Donna, and asked me if I could wait a week because they wanted the transition to be smooth, and the room was not ready yet. They wanted everything to be addressed and ready, but I know that they were understaffed and they had people that had left them. So, I thought that was my prime opportunity to go look somewhere else.

We toured the assisted living side of Tapestry Senior Living Walden. The tour was nice, and they seemed very equipped to take care of people that were in need of help, but we weren't ready for that at this time. The room was nice, the staff was very good, very nice, the food was good, and the dining area was small. The chef was very accommodating, very nice, and came out to check on us several times.

Tapestry Senior Living Walden assisted living wasn't homey at all. Its like being in a renovated hotel. It's relatively new so it didn't have a whole lot going and there weren't a whole lot of people there. It was clean and everybody was attentive. It wasn't bad, but it was austere and it wasn't what I was looking for. They offer art classes, cooking classes, gardening, reading club, excursions, and outings.

My parents are in Tapestry Senior Living Walden. My mom is currently independent and my dad is assisted, and we feel like he's getting the care that he needs. They offer three meals a day, they have a salon and they will take them to doctors' appointments. The staff I've come in contact with has been wonderful.
