Cabot Reserve On the Green had a caring staff. They took pretty good care of my mom. When I walked in, it was clean and neat, and it passed the nose test right off the bat. It didn't have the typical ammonia-type smell that you sometimes find in some of the care facilities. I was happy with what they had. I haven't been there in two years, but they had a new manager and he was doing upgrades to the facilities and was extremely good at getting people involved in having things to keep the people busy. Their food was good. They had all kinds of activities for them to do. They had bingo, a fire pit outback, exercises (both chair exercise and regular exercise), weekly field trips (if not twice a week, they had at least one trip a week that they went on), movie nights, and outside entertainment a couple of times a week (like singers). They also had something I'd never seen before. They brought a llama one time for petting as well as therapy dogs.

I have a friend that lives here whom I try to visit monthly. They recently gave the facility a much needed facelift with new paint and decor that makes it look open and inviting. They also have new management who are very attentive and clearly working hard to make make sure it is a lovely home for the folks who live and work there. Activities seem exciting there is always something going on when I’m there that everyone seems to enjoy and the food is wonderful. Cabot has been around forever and they continue to impress.

My brother is in Cabot Reserve. It is right on a golf course called Bobby Jones Golf Course. Some of the staff are very nice and their managers are nice and are willing to help. They have spent a lot of money on the landscaping outside and they've done a big paint job on the inside, which makes the building look new. They're planning on putting in new floors, so the appearance is going to be quite improved. The food is very good. They offer three meals a day. A lot of the people there have dementia. As far as activities, there are people who come in to entertain, musicians, people who hold little exercise classes, and they have some things for the residents to participate in like painting, watercolors, and planting flowers.

Cabot Reserve was clean, organized, and very homey. It had a very nice appeal -- old but family-friendly. The menu for dining is very limited. Dining was family style. It’s not like a residence where they have 4 or 5 choices, but they’ll still give you an alternate if you need and you ask for it like a grilled cheese sandwich. The staff was attentive; the person in charge was excellent. All the rooms were different, and the furniture comes with the room.

Cabot is very old, and it’s in need of a lot of facelift. The memory care unit is very nice, but the building itself was dilapidated and depressing. They have a small dining room, everybody sat in the hallway, and looked like they were drugged. It was clean. The activity they have on the board is a trip to McDonalds.

Cabot Reserve on the Green is actually a good facility. They are taking really good care of my uncle. I am happy with it. I have not personally eaten there, but I go there to help feed my uncle, and the food serving is good. The rooms are actually laid out very well, and each has their own bathroom. Even the semi-private rooms have two bathrooms. It is similar to a college dorm situation. They do a tremendous amount of activities. Actually, more than any place I have ever seen. They have a lot of weekly activities, like ice cream socials on Wednesdays. They have music on Fridays. They have exercise every day in the morning. It is basically a dementia unit. They handle dementia patients, they are very small, and they are giving better attention than a bigger facility. There are a few things that they can do better, but overall, I think they are doing a good job.
