Brookdale Colonial Park has very nice and large kitchenettes. That sold me on the place and I have a unit with a beautiful view into the woods. They also have a large closet space. They have 24-hour nursing care on staff and all the staff are very friendly. I enjoyed 98% of the meals. Today, we had mashed potatoes with gravy, lightly buttered green beans, and Salisbury steak with gravy. The meat was tender and good and there was fresh fruit for dessert. They always have very nice tossed salads for lunch. Five days a week, they have exercises in the mornings at 9:30 and games throughout the week. They have socials with or without alcohol at 3:00, just about every day for five days a week. They also welcome guests and family members to share meals without cost. They have a very nice library.

We liked Brookdale Colonial Park a lot because everything was one on floor and it was a very big facility. When we looked at it from the outside, it didn't look that big, but when we went inside, it was huge and there was a lot to do. The sizes of the rooms were very nice. The staff were also very nice and very helpful. They already had the stuff in the room and I liked the refrigerator. Most of the places that we saw had very, very small refrigerators, but this one was maybe four feet. It was a good size and we were very impressed with that. They provide you with a microwave, too, which is very nice. The woman I met was great. She was very informative. I liked what she said, that if you're looking for champagne and chandeliers, this isn't the place, but if you're looking for a place where you're being taken care of, then this is where you want to be. I like that because we're not there for champagne and chandeliers. We're here to get the best care possible.

We toured and liked Brookdale Colonial Park. We liked the rooms or apartments, they were nice. They have activities, church services, and a lot of things. It was a toss-up between this place and the other one. But it's going to cost us for all the extras, like if my loved one needed a wheelchair to take her down to her meals and all that stuff. The staff who gave me the tour was great, she's very upfront and honest with us about everything. I called her several times and asked her questions, and she was right there to answer them. Their amenities were nice and we were impressed with them a lot.

Brookdale Colonial Park had a lot of trees around it. It's very homey looking, and there were a lot of people sitting outside and conversing. I thought that was very nice. The apartment I have seen there was large. They had some that were just a little over 600 square feet, and it had separate bedrooms, which I liked. It was very nice. They don't put anything in colors, though, as far as the apartments. The dining room and things like that are painted in colors, but the rooms are all in either white or eggshell. The person who assisted me, was very nice. She's called me several times since and invited me over. I went over there, and they were having a little special meeting about how to get people moved from one place to another to get them in there. They have a couple of different people that spoke, and they were telling them how to sell things in your home to get the move going and things like that. Then they had a nice little luncheon to go with it. They're very nice, very warm, and friendly there. They seem to have a lot of activities. The people were all over, you see them inside and outside. They seem to like it there, and they tell them "You're not just in a room, the whole place is yours, it belongs to you." The food that I ate for the luncheon was delicious. We had some chicken salad sandwiches and croissants. They made some nice desserts and drinks; it was very nice. They seem to keep it up well. It's an older building, but they keep it painted and keep it up nice and clean.

I liked my tour at Brookdale Colonial Park. The staff seemed very nice, and the facility also seemed nice. It could use a little sprucing up. It shows some normal wear and tear on the carpet and stuff like that. I had a comfortable feeling there, and it's one of the places I would consider. I saw a 1-bedroom apartment that was really nice and a good size. The building itself was good. I have no complaints about that. The food and dining area looked just like a restaurant type area. I get the feeling of going into a restaurant. We checked their activity center, and I had a pretty good tour of their outdoor courtyards that were nice.

Brookdale Colonial Park was an older facility, but it's very clean and my parents liked it because it's small. It had a very nice family feel. They had a maximum of 110 people and that was appealing. It's all on one level. No elevators or anything to deal with. Everyone was very nice on our tour, and I've been on the phone several times with the sales director, and they even took food to my parents' house to have them try the food. Because of Covid, they aren't letting people in, so I thought that was very nice. We're just overall pleased. We liked the location, and everyone was nice. We met the director, the nurse, and the activities director and he was very outgoing and very nice. It sounded like they had a lot going on. Everyone we met was nice. We even talked to a few of the residents. Everyone that we spoke with was happy. It seemed genuine; it's not like they were planted there. They were having an exercise class when I did the virtual tour, which they do in the morning. We also went there. It was after lunch and it was a little quiet, but a lot of people were sitting around outside. They had beautiful outside spaces and they had movie nights and cocktail hour almost every day in the afternoon. Even during Covid, they had a big screened-in porch for the residents, and once in a while they'll bring entertainment in the wooded area away from the building. They'll have somebody come and sing and entertain, so they're not in the building and they're not near the residents. They haven't had any Covid, so that was a plus, that's why we're leaning towards going there. I took my parents to look at it. We went into the available apartments and looked. It's a little dated and could use some updating as far as furniture and maybe painting and lighting, but it's kept very well. They both liked the food. I liked it a lot because it had four hallways off the center, main room, dining room, and activity room, so it's easy access. If you live down one hallway, you don't have to walk far away.

Brookdale was very nice, and a lovely lady took me around, but it was not what I wanted. The staff was perfect and couldn't have been better. I saw some of the apartments, they were very nice, and they have all of the facilities in one building. The food was excellent, amd the dining area was gorgeous.

We chose Brookdale Colonial Park because the whole community is nice and kept clean all the time. The personnel is extraordinary. It has a friendly atmosphere. The medical care my wife is getting is very good. She is very happy in every respect. Her one-bedroom is very nice and very comfortable and almost 500 square feet. They have a nice library and dining room. My wife says the food is very good.

The visit at Brookdale was very nice. The workers were very professional and took me to one of their assisted living apartments, and it was lovely. It’s a place that was so comfortable to have that care. The facility was clean and attractive. They do have memory care too. They were having a big function honoring the Phantom of the Opera, and they once a month do a program where a woman comes in and sings. They have a buffet meal, and then a woman performed for them. While I was there, they were having a birthday ice cream and cake party. It’s very nice. I would love my parents to live there.

Brookdale Colonial Park is very helpful, and the staff has been great in dealing with the things that have happened within our family. The food is great, and the cleanliness is fine. Everything is really very good. The staff members are wonderful, and they have helped us get through some really difficult times. My father-in-law passed away, but Mom is still there. They're very protective of her and are very good at making sure she does what she needs to do. We're very happy.

The staff at Brookdale Colonial Park was willing and seemed to be very capable of doing their jobs. They answered all of our questions really well. They were interested in why we were there and what we are looking for in a facility. The place itself was very nice. I saw the dining area, and it was beautiful. They seem to have different activities, and I saw that the residents were going on really well.

We like the staff very much at Brookdale Colonial Park. They seemed to be a lot more willing to at least try and provide the kind of blended independent/assisted that we're looking for. The rooms were a little on the shabby side, but they were rehabbing their apartments. They should improve on increasing the size and quality. Brookdale is putting a monitoring system in all of their facilities where everybody wears a little locator device. I'm very impressed with the care that they are providing.

Brookdale Colonial Park was the one we visited, and it was perfect. Everything was great. The staff was very involved and very professional. We didn't really see any of the nursing staff, but we did talk to the marketing department, and they were very knowledgeable. The apartment was very nice. It was a one-bedroom, and the space was better than some of the other places we looked at. There were all kind of in a circle in the lobby, but they weren't having any specific activities at the time. They did have a number of activities available. We did not take their lunch, but they looked very clean, and the people certainly looked well-fed, so that wasn't an issue.

Brookdale Colonial Park was actually our second choice. The rooms were just too small. They were very friendly. All the Brookdale people that we met were very friendly and very helpful. The only difference was the size of the room. The dining setup is the same as almost all assisted living. The rooms are very small, and the walk-in closet is about the same size as the bedroom area. You can get a single bed and a chair in there, but that was about it. It was like a closet. As for activities, it is fairly much all the same. Brookdale operates on the same concept with all of their properties. They have a theme of the month or location of the month. We saw the activities were very similar. We wanted our mother involved in activities and keeping her busy so she wouldn't sleep during the day time. They need renovations and re-look at the size of their room for what it costs. They were adding a couple of things, but it needs to be kept up with the contemporary look versus the old country look. The people were great, but the setting was just outdated. It needs renovations.

Thank you for visiting and taking the time to share your thoughts about our community. We realize that our rooms are smaller than many expect. Most of our residents are downsizing, which can be a difficult transition. They do not as many items in our setting, as we provide many items and activities!

We had lived in here and it was an excellent facility. It was much larger than the other facility we had lived in. They had an Alzheimer’s division. The staff was extremely professional and caring. They had exercise activities. They also had professional people come in to entertain us. The food was very good for institutional food. The dining room was well decorated. Security was good.

The first time I visited was in October, and the second time was last week. It was very impressive when you enter. They had a hostess that was very welcoming, and the people were pleasant. The front foyer area was very pleasant, and it had a very good smell. The staff that accommodated us was wonderful. She was outstanding, helpful, answered a lot of questions, and gave me recommendations making certain that my parents had a couple of choices. I also liked that one because they have a social group of World War II veterans that meet once a week and have lunch together. My father would very much enjoy that companionship. There were people eating and looking at the library, and once a month, they have a speaker come in. My parents are very picky eaters, and since I was there in October, my parents didn't like everything that they delivered, but the food is in the process of changing where they'll have some choices each day on the menu.

I cannot express how homey and warm this place felt from the moment I stepped inside....The staff was exceptionally nice and made up for the "dated" decor. They were quick to meet my friends needs along with how I felt about visiting there. I feel SO confident that my friend is looked after and in a secure environment! The food was great too!!!! My friend loves Chef "Bob"! Thank you for having the quaint and loving place you have created for the elderly and meeting all their needs to be the last home they will know... :)

We are already settling in a new place. We have chosen here. We chose this place because of the location. It just looks very nice. The people are friendly. It is clean and very nice. The outside is very pretty. There are Wii bowling, Wii golf, chair volleyball, poker, bingo, keno, and trips. If you have to go to the doctor, the bank, or the grocery store, they have a bus to go there. Overall, they're very good. They serve three meals a day. I'm very much satisfied with the services that they have.

My parents have been in here for about 2 ½ years. We chose it initially because it was close to where my parents had been living and they wanted to stay in the same area. I think the physical facility is fine. They have a 1-bedroom unit with a living room, a private bath and a little kitchenette area. It’s very attractive. That hasn’t been a source of complaint at all. The quality of the food and the food service has gone downhill in the last year and just in the last few months, it seems as though the staff services have really deteriorated.

It had good people and staff. The rooms and dining area were adequate. They had single bedrooms with a living area and a small kitchen but we were looking for rooms for two for my parents. They had grounds to walk on but no pool.

This was really my first choice but my wife fell and broke her back and her mind went very rapidly after that. She couldn't make it in assisted living anymore so we had to get skilled nursing care. I saw the rooms, the activities and the people there. The room was spacious and very comfortable-looking with very convenient bathrooms and they had a lockdown procedure. I was very impressed with them.

My dad is here. He has been there for about a week and a half now. We likes it because the facility is only one floor. There were no elevators and the place was very nice. The staff were also very good.

We chose this facility because they accept Medicaid and VA. It is located right off a big intersection and that made it very convenient. The buildings are colonial style bricked and very spread out. There are numerous palm trees and shady areas around. My mom lives in a one room apartment which is big enough for her. There's a living room, a bathroom, a small kitchenette and a refrigerator which she really likes. She eats her meals in the dining room together with the other residents. The personnel are really friendly, welcoming, caring and able to assist anytime. They pay attention to her requests. For instance, she requested for special bars in her bathroom and they readily accommodated her. Furthermore, they provide entertainment like memory care. However, they could provide better service to their clients if they communicate more to family members. My mother is doing well in this place. She said everybody is taking good care of her. She feels this is her "home".
