I visited this facility

I went to Wesley Haven Villa. It was a very nice facility. It's probably about 20 years old. It's well-maintained. The food was really good, and the staff was friendly and helpful. They had activities and shopping days out for the people with a van. They had a couple of vans. The apartments were bright and clean.

My mom stayed at Wesley Haven Villa in Pensacola. It's a wonderful place, I'd recommend them very highly. Her room was excellent, everything there was excellent. The staff was wonderful, they were very caring.

I visited this facility

Wesley Haven Villas is very nice and very clean. The residents all seem happy and cared for. We were only in the public areas of the place and they have a lovely dining room. Then they have what I would call a living room, which is a pretty good-sized room. There's a piano in there, a library, and lots of couches and things to sit on. It's very pleasant and they have an interior kind of courtyard that's very nice, with flowers and places to sit and walk around on little paths. I only interacted with one person. She is a very lovely person. She is the one that takes care of the activities but I couldn't say anything about any of the other staff.

My Mom lived at Wesley Haven Villa for the last year of her life. I cannot adequately express how grateful for and happy I am with the care she received at this facility. I moved her from another local facility after several months of waiting, and the difference was like night and day. The rooms are larger than most, very well appointed, and highly functional. It felt like she was at home. The staff was outstanding, and treated my Mom like royalty. There were always games, parties and visiting entertainers for the residents. I often thought about moving in myself! The facility has a great dining room, very good food, several large library/activity areas, an excellent medical unit, tons of parking, a covered pickup & drop-off area, and is well located near downtown Pensacola. My favorite thing about WHV is that it's non-profit, and the fees were substantially lower than we paid in Mom's previous facility. I will always be grateful that my Mom lived there.

The management is often not friendly and can make one feel it is an imposition to answer a question. The nursing, maintenance and custodial staff is very helpful and customer service orientated.

My dearest friend and adopted mom lived here for 13 years. She was one of the first to move in. We can't say enough about how she was welcomed and treated throughout her time here. The staff was attentive and loving towards her. Jennifer, the director, became her dear friend. Her love of all of the residents is quite obvious. She spends hours making sure their meals are delicious, the special events are perfectly planned, and all the activities are challenging yet fun. Martha loved every day at Wesley Haven and felt very blessed to be there.

My mother lived at Wesley Haven Villa for the last 12 years of her life. Mom participated in the many varied activities; she loved the parties. The director sets high standards for staff, who treat residents with loving respect. We felt that the Wesley Haven community tries to meet the needs of each resident. in summary, Mom loved living at Wesley Haven.

I visited this facility

I'm on the waiting list for Wesley Haven. It is Christian-based, and close to a couple of churches that I have been wanting to go to. They sent me a brochure and a package, everything was very specific, and spelled-out. If it should happen that people run out of money, they never turn anyone out -- they have a fund that takes care of those people. They also have transportation, entertainment, a resident nurse, a visiting doctor, and just about everything you need. They have levels of care, and the financial increase from one level to another was specified in the brochure, and it's not that big. They don't tell you those details in other places.

My dear Dad is currently residing at Wesley Haven. He enjoys the company of many clients his age. As his daughter, I visit Dad at least 4 times a week at all hours of the day/night. I am always pleased with his care. He is very happy there. The food is varied, well cooked, nutritious, and they are more than happy to make adjustments to each and everyone's desires or needs. I have found the staff caring for Dad but ever mindful of our families desires and needs. I cannot imagine a more suitable place for a 94 year old man. Wesley Haven is my choice above ALL others. The Administration listens to the family, and goes out of their way to meet our needs.

Too bad you can't put zero stars on this site. I had my mother at Wesley Haven for about 5 yrs. She was very happy there and I felt great about the facility because she was happy. Then in 2012, they got a new administrator. The whole atmosphere changed for the worst. This new woman started firing some of the best employees there. Her mistake! After she fired one of the nicest, caring and most knowledgable nurses I have ever known, the medical care went to pot. The new nurse should not have been working in this environment as it was obvious she did not have the compassion or medical knowledge of the previous nurse. The atmosphere changed from friendly, smiling & caring employees to a cold environment . Mom became very unhappy so I moved her to another facility. This place is better, but nothing compared to WHV before all of the changes. Bad move on Methodist Homes part.

Best ALF in Pensacola! Senior Staff, Staff, food quality, apartments, activities and care that my mom receives has exceeded all my expectations! I toured several facilities and had a brother in law in nursing home care for over 10 years in 4 diff cities so am very accustomed to visiting senior facilities. I am thrilled that my Mom is there and I hope she gets to live out the rest of her life in this facility! She's happy and we are all happy that she is here! Kudo's to the team from Administrator on down for making it all so wonderful!!

My mother is currently at WHV in Pensacola and I wouldn't want her anywhere else. The staff is the best and the administrator goes out of her way to make sure everyone has what he or she needs. My mother was sent to the hospital a month or so ago. Because I'm not local, I tried to call for information about her condition but they wouldn't release it. On top of that, they told Mom that she would have to go to a skilled nursing center rather than home to WHV. The administrator drove to the hospital herself and spoke with them and Mom to find out what my mother wanted to do. An hour later, Mom was back in her apartment at WHV. Also, Mom broke her foot one weekend. Again, since I'm not local, I wasn't able to be there with her. The administrator sat with her in the hospital for six(?) hours before they released Mom at 10pm. On a final note, when I'm in town, I actually sleep there so I see first-hand the level of service and care. No one could possibly care for these people more. Trust me, this place is THE best!

My grandmother has been at Wesley Haven for several years. In my opinion it used to be the best assisted living facility in the area. Sadly, since administraion changed and several excellent employees have been fired, I have noticed such a decline in the quality of care, especially in the nursing department that per my grandmothers request,we are looking at other faciliies to move her too. We all hate this because until the last several months, she was very happy here. The previous nurses were extremely caring and very knowledgeable. The "personal care aids" that have been terminated were some of the most caring nd compassionate people I have ever known. Wesley Haven is owned by Methodist Homes and none of us can understand why they ignore both ours and other residents & families complaints. I think they made a huge mistake when they hired their new administrator, and an even bigger mistake when they allowed her to terminate the previous nurses and support staff. A year ago I would have rated 5 stars but now I want to give zero stars but this program makes you put at least 1 star but this facility does not even deserve this one star.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My boyfriend's grandmother is located at Wesley Haven in Pensacola, Florida. The staff is extremely friendly and always cordial. I frequently see them joking around and putting a laugh or smile on the residents faces, which in the last stages of their lives, seems important. The facilities are extremely well cared for and the staff takes very individualized notes about each resident and how they can better assist them and handle their needs. The rooms also are very large and there is a great deal of privacy. The facility also hosts several events for their residents to keep them entertained. There is also a hospital located right around the corner, in case of any emergencies, and this makes families feel very secure. Though the home has several floors, I feel that the residents are very safe.

Wesley Haven Villa is a assisted living center for seniors. It is located in downtown Pensacola. The center offers shuttle services to WalMart and to doctor appointments. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner (which are very good) keeping in mind the health requirements of each senior resident. The staff is friendly and helpful. They also have Methodist church services. They have a piano in the library area to play for the residents.
