My mom moved to The Blake at Pensacola. I think it's great. It's clean. It's almost luxurious. She has a one-bedroom. So, her room is a pretty good size. It has a little kitchen area. I mean, no stove or anything but a microwave and stuff. The bedrooms are good, with a nice large shower, which is easy to get in and out, and enough storage space. The staff is very courteous, and plentiful. They're easy to get in touch with, very polite, and helpful. They have a movie night. They've got bingo. They have physical therapy services. They have a physical therapist who comes in and does an initial evaluation to check on things, and they have an on-site nurse practitioner and medical help if you need something. They also provide weekly cleanings. The dining area looks like a restaurant. It's very nice. They've got a menu. I haven't eaten anything there, so it seems decent, but my mom's very picky, so kind of hard to judge. It's cashless. So they reward them with virtual bucks, so that if they win like bingo and stuff they can use that. For the value, it's kinda pricey.

You need to check in often, the residents belonging disappear. Leave nothing of value in the rooms, even clothes are taken.

I visited The Blake at Pensacola. The room was beautiful. They serve you all three meals, so you don't need appliances. The staff was knowledgeable. The way that thing is built, the courtyard is inside where the rooms are.

I used to go to The Blake at Pensacola quite frequently to play cards with a friend of ours. The food was very good. They had a salad bar that you could go to. I really liked it better, so it was good. The rooms were very clean. They couldn't have been any more helpful. We saw housekeeping maybe a couple of times, and they were good. Their staff members were excellent. They came in and checked on my friend. If she needed them, all she had to do was call. The facility is relatively new. They had an area where we played cards. They had a physical therapy room and a beauty shop. They had some kind of activity every day, and exercises that I thought were pretty cool. They had a beautiful courtyard.

The staff is amazing. Especially Kim, Danielle, Rae, Leslie and Amy. However the facility is grossly understaffed. The Blake is a business not a home. The Blake states their care philosophy puts a high priority on hospitality and personal attention – for both residents and family. This is far from the truth. We never even had a care plan meeting to discuss and attempt to change the issues. Instead, we received notification of discharge. Every issue stated in the notification are signs and symptoms of the middle to late stages of Alzheimer’s. The facility was aware of her diagnosis prior to her moving in. It was my understanding that the administration was familiar with the disease which is clearly not the case. The letter also stated they would assist me to find a home for mom and would schedule a meeting with the doctor, myself, and the administration. Neither happened nor did they return any of my messages. If I could put no stars.

I visited The Blake at Pensacola and it is beautiful. We liked it because it is a gated community. The rooms are beautiful. Everything in there is really nice. They have activities and all kinds of things. They were very nice, warm, and they said hello as we were passing them. They were very respectful I would say.

We moved my mother-in-law in The Blake at Pensacola and that same day was the first day that somebody tested positive. They had to go into a two-week quarantine, so that's been a major problem. However, The Blake is trying. There are a lot of things that are not normal because of COVID and that's mainly the negative. My mother-in-law has a friend that she has known since the 1960s. She was already a client of The Blake, so they sit together now at lunch. They have someone there that they have known forever since they were in their 20s, and that's the main reason it was picked. The rooms are very big. My mother-in-law has about 100 square feet more than most other places, if not more. I've never tasted the food, so I don't really know about the food. My mother-in-law is having everything pureed, but she says it's good most of the time. Well, I'm sure anything pureed is questionable. Plus, my mother-in-law lost her sense of smell about 15 to 20 years ago, so it's kinda hard for her to be objective. I really don't know about activities. My mother-in-law is getting mobile, and right now she is doing a lot of physical therapy. After her stroke, she didn't walk and now she is walking. She has made a lot of progress, but I don't know about the activities. Value for money is fair to good.

I was very impressed with the beautiful building it was walking into the Ritzs Carlton. But a beautiful building is only a building without a great staff and leader. The staff is friendly and helpful . Greeting you with a smile. We have been there for a year and moms loves it .

My mother is at The Blake at Pensacola, and it's been good. The staff is good, and the atmosphere is great. The rooms are very nice and have high ceilings, which gives them a little more room. The dining area is nice. The whole facility is very nice, very warm, and very welcoming. What sold me on it is when the level of care goes up, the price doesn't go up.

Facility is new and beautiful. However before moving a loved one here, ask what the ratio of caregivers to patients is. Complaints to management are not resolved. Management is concerned only about profits. Not concerned about hiring staff and training and retaining caregivers. There are some great caregivers, but they are overwhelmed and stretched very thin. My experience with this facility leaves me to think that management cares zilch about the residents. Only profits.

The Blake at Pensacola was beautiful. I saw an empty room that someone had just moved out of, which was private and newer. The staff member who gave me the tour was lovely, tried really hard, and turned on the charm. She did her best and was personable. I was also worried about the security there.
