I visited Grandview to see my great aunt before the Pandemic. She really loves living there. They have lots of fun activities to do and the staff are caring and loving towards her.

I am staying at Grandview Retirement Center. I'm in a semi-private room. I'm in the very last room in the very last hall, so I'm not exposed to people, like when people get COVID and stuff. I like that they've taken that into consideration. I don't like that people can come and go in and out of my room at any time, which bothers me. I do my own medicine. They have good activities here. With all the money they get from my insurance, and then they charge me, they're getting a lot of money for not what they advertised that they do. I had to provide my refrigerator, microwave, and coffee pot. You have to bring your own bed, dressers, and everything.

I visited my mother-in-law here. The halls smelled like urine and feces and her room did not look clean. The outside garden was well kept, nice, and serene. The care from the staff was lacking. After my mother-in-law was there for a few weeks, the family noticed she had become very thin and dehydrated. She fell several times and the staff notified the family, but they also insisted she was "ok". Please do your research before placing your loved one at this facility.

I absolutely would not recommend that anyone place a loved one at this facility. Despite the other good reviews and the cheerful photos, the care my mother received while there was neglectful, to put it kindly. Her frequent falls (each time, we were told she "was fine") made it harder and harder for her to get to the dining room, yet NO ONE checked on her even after she missed many meals. I learned from the emergency room that she had broken a rib one of those times and NO ONE told us! I'm not sure if they even knew. Just before we moved her (under emergent circumstances), she had been in her room for days, unable to reach the pull cord on the wall and unable to get to the bathroom. You can imagine. How could they be so unaware of a resident who was in distress? Do your due diligence and walk the halls, talk to floor staff and other residents, and see for yourself before you choose this facility. I wish I had.

Assisted care facility is a misnomer in this case. Most of the staff were rude and unresponsive. They do not even do the minimum necessary, rooms are not cleaned properly, personal items disappear, and they allow residents to skip meals and not check on them. We had to move my mother after a couple months because she was NOT being cared for at all. She passed away less than a month after the move due to malnutrition and dehydration. The damage had been done. If I could give a half a star, I would.

During this pandemic it has been very difficult to keep in touch with my dad. Staff I am sure are doing their best. But no excuse for being rude and not returning calls. I guess if your loved one is a good patient they get A+ treatment, but if they are difficult it is much less. Hope this is over soon so we can have face to face time again.

Rooms not cleaned on a regular scheduel, bed linens not changed but once a month. Meals are simple and maybe good nutritionally but not very flavorful. Some of the staff is friendly others not so much.

My mother found The Grandview and wanted to go there. The staff showed us around and gave us the tour. They were helpful and friendly. The rooms were very nice, clean, spacious, and decorated well. They were having a meal when we went in there, so we were able to look at the food, which looked like it would be nice. The dining area was very clean; the furniture and the decorations were really nice. They have a beverage bar where people living there could come up anytime and get juice, tea, or coffee.

Grandview was really pretty, and it was decorated for the holidays. The rooms of the residents were nice, and they had their own furniture. This is one of the places I’m going to take my brother.

Mom is a Grandview and so far they are very accommodating. It's a good facility and they are taking care of my mom quite well. The staff's work ethic was good and they seem to know what's going on with the patients. They get three meals a day and they provide a diabetic menu for my mom.
