My brother is at Oak Haven. It's a small one and I love it for him. They were quick to get my brother in. They were willing to let him stay a night and see what he thought before he moved in. He's in a shared room, and it has a big closet and a TV. It's very spacious for two people. The staff is wonderful, kind, and attentive. My brother likes it there. He can visit outside out back on the patio. There is a nice sitting area outside where you sit and read a book. They have a dining room, and there are four tables there. They attend to his medication. It's very nice. The staff is very kind, loving, and very attentive. I've gone in and found one of the staff members talking to one of the residents. They're helpful and they seem to know what they're doing. My brother had to go to the hospital once and they were quick to call the ambulance and get him hospitalization care. I have not had meals there, but I've seen the meals and my brother tells me what he eats. They're your regular home-cooked meals; they're not gourmet food. They're like meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and green beans. They usually have iced tea, lemonade, and iced water to drink. The meals are filling. He is full when he's finished eating. I know one of the patients asked for a second and he gets it. The amenities are great. They supply adult diapers. The food of course is included in their price. There is a transportation bus that will take them to their doctors. If they're capable and able, they will take them shopping or to the bank. The facilities are very nice.

I hate to say negative things about anyone. I was not even going to do this review because I don’t want to put bad words out there but I feel I have to speak up. My loved one was moved temporarily, without my concent, to Oakhaven from another facility. She didn’t like it there but I thought it was a cute place- the staff were so nice. But I found that the staff were unhappy. They were often complaining to me about having a very small budget for food and not having the diapers and gloves etc that they needed. One Day when I was there staff had brought laundry detergent from home and bleach to clean with. They were such kind caregivers but they said the owner didn’t care and left them without things they need. I witnessed them not having enough food for all the residents there, the staff had to give out tiny portions and one man that doesn’t speak became very angry and threw his fists up. The staff is afraid to complain because they need their jobs. It’s sad because it’s a cute little house and it looks nice from the outside. It seems The people inside don’t really have a voice. They don’t do any Activities There which is why my loved one really didn’t like it. She said she’s not ready to “ sit around and watch paint dry” all day quite yet. They try to keep it looking nice but it’s not sanitary because they don’t have cleaning supplies they need. It’s sad. Could be a cute little place. I wouldn’t recommend it though. I just had to say something somewhere when I saw this injustice. It was a while ago but it’s been bothering me. We need good caregivers in Florida, they shouldn’t be penalized for trying to get food for our elderly.

Oakhaven is such a wonderful environment for my grandma. She loves it there. Brenda, Donna and Chritine take such good care of her. They are wonderful people and have all been there working together for many years. Anytime I need anything or have questions I get ahold of Kathy in administration and she takes care of it. They Truely love their residents at this facility and care enough to go the extra mile. The home is beautiful and clean but if it weren't for the great staff my grandma wouldn't be so happy there. They helped her get comfortable when she first moved in and she's felt right at home ever since.

Beautiful that is the best way to describe this building. Once appearing identical to the ran down ALF next door, this owner has but a lot into re-renovating this property, Now when you pull up into the driveway it looks like an ole country house with three wide cobble stone steps leading up to white French doors. Once you enter you are welcomed by a sit down style happy hour bar that is deep cherry glass covered with a fire place. The Christmas Tree sat beautifully on the side of the room large and lit up. There were several sitting chairs throughout this room. There is a walkthrough to the kitchen area with the sitting room attached that leads into the large dining area that looks upon the bar style room and the entrance of the home. Bedrooms come off the back of the kitchen area and down the hall attached to the sitting room next to the kitchen. The walls were painted nicely with color schemes that matched and everything appeared to be in an upgraded standard. It was 4PM and nourishments were sitting nicely on the cabinet for anyone to enjoy and were not talking peanut butter crackers we are talking about homemade treats, like ones you used to get at grandmas house. There is room for about 10 residents and there is one staff member to each shift and the employees are regulars so they know their residents (that's the good thing about small facilities). I recognized one of the staff members so as we were talking I realized that she had been working at this facility since it opened 5 years ago, and that is the case with all of the staff at this building. That is an excellent sign. There are three bathrooms one private bath and two baths for all of the other residents. There is one large bath with the small step style entry to the shower. This facility cooks three meals a day and the staff does all of the residents laundry fro no extra charge. I highly recommend this facility as the owner has proven that he actually cares about his investments and this location is clean"¦very clean and the staff is happy. The residents were all up and about and clean and there was absolutely no odor in this home at all. There is no need for one of those continual air fresheners at this facility because there is no odor to cover up ! Wonderful quaint little place.
