Assisted Living Communities in Tarpon Springs, FL

"My father will move into Elevated Estates of New Port Richey. When we walked in, it was more home-like rather than institutional feeling. The people there were absolutely awesome. People who didn't even know who I was smiled and said hi. The people who live there seemed happy. We walked in during an activity, and they were all very engrossed in the activity. And the girl doing the activity had an energy level that was just amazing. They answered any question I had, and the few questions they did not know the answers to, she said she would get back to me the next day with the answers, and she did. She was very prompt. That was Dora that I talked with, and any questions I had along the way, she provided answers very quickly. I saw all three different-sized rooms and I chose the room that I thought my father would feel most comfortable in. The staff is amazing. I did not have a meal. However, when we had decided to select that location, I asked if I could come back and tour again with my father so that he could see the location and he could have a meal there when he toured it, and he was very, very happy. He said, "If I'm going to eat like this all the time, I'm going to get fat." He was very happy with the food. They have an outdoor area that has some umbrellas so that you can sit in the shade. They also have an enclosed sort of an inside outside area that is screened in, so there's no bugs, but you can have fresh air. There are ceiling fans and shades, so there's plenty of options to get fresh air."

"I liked Curlew Care and the staff. They’re very friendly and efficient. The room is very nice. My dad likes the food; it tastes really good. "

"It is one of the best facilities the staff is very friendly answered all my questions the rooms are beautiful. I was very impressed on how friendly the staff was I will definetly placing my loved ones here when the time comes."

"I toured Angels Senior Living at Dunedin. It's a very small community, and the whole unit is memory care. The rooms were very nice. I was only able to tour a single room. It was very nicely furnished and quite spacious for one person. The staff who gave the tour was very knowledgeable, very attentive, and interacted well with the patients as we were going through the facility because several of them came up to him and wanted contact. He was very caring and helped them. The eating area was nice. It was a larger dining room, and it had a patio that opened off and led out to the enclosed garden area, so it was nice."

"The assisted living facility of Discovery Village Trinity was very nice. They had a very beautiful dining room. We had wanted a two-bedroom apartment with two baths, but I think they only had a two-bedroom one with one bath. We got to visit one of the residents, and she showed us a room. It was very light and airy, and it had a full refrigerator. It was very nice. They take you on trips, do food shopping, and take you to your doctor's office. I think they also had a beauty parlor. The person who welcomed and gave us the tour was extremely lovely, very warm, and very nice. It gave us a good feeling about the place."

"The Cottages of Port Richey was a very nice place. There's not a lot in each cottage; it's like a cottage of maybe five residents. They're all like little houses and they all have their own rooms, but they eat together in a small area, which we felt was very good because with having a small amount of people in that area, they'll get more attention. We met the workers there, and they seemed very, very nice."

"We chose Grand Villa of Clearwater for my dad, but he fell, so we're postponing everything until he gets better from that fall. We have a deposit down, and we'll take it from there to see how my dad's feeling. Just very welcoming. The staff was extremely professional, and Lori was fabulous. Very, very clean, organized, and just well-run. You can just really tell that they're constantly staying on top of the facility. They offered bingo, they offered customized exercise classes, and arts and crafts. They have a church service there on Sundays. When I was touring it, they were doing a Halloween event there at that time. So they're constantly doing things to keep the residents engaged and active. They had a nice menu, they had a set menu every day, and then the chef prepared something special for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. So that was nice, that if they didn't like what the chef prepared, then they could get sandwiches or burgers, soup, or salad, or something like that. I'm very pleased with the place."

"My brothers and I moved our Mom into a local Memory Care that only offers Memory Care, they claimed to specialize in it. She was there for a year before we decided to see what other options were out there after not being terribly impressed and having a few nightmare "close calls". We found The Oaks during our search and after learning what we had in our first experience were extremely skeptical and hesitant throughout the process. Out of the 3-5 communities we looked into The Oaks was the only one to respect our timeline and wishes to explore our options. That made us feel very comfortable as we never felt pressured and they never bad mouthed others to make themselves sound better. We ended up taking them up on an offer to start with Respite care, also their contract is month to month so that gave us comfort as well that we weren't going to be locked in if we weren't happy. The Oaks knows all of this and was very confident in their team. After the Respite period (which was 2 weeks) we met with them again to discuss long-term admission. The team was so knowledgeable and had done so many wonderful things with our Mom in just 2 weeks, much more than the previous community did in a year. We decided to commit. Our Mom went in just before COVID started and we couldn't be happier with how they've handled her care especially during the pandemic. We felt tied to our first community out of fear of upsetting Mom's care routine but The Oaks worked so well with her from the start and we've seen so much improvement with her being around so many other high functioning residents. She frequently attends events within the community that are attended by the other Levels of Care so it feels like so much more than "just Memory Care". On top of that, the price was about 20% less than the first community - go figure! We've been blessed to find The Oaks for our Mom, I would certainly recommend them to anyone who asks. "My mom has moved into Vitality Living Baypoint Village. It was absolutely gorgeous. They have remodeled. A little TLC went a long way from the day I stepped in there to the day I put her in. The staff so far has been absolutely amazing. I haven't tried the food. My mom has been eating, so that indicates that it's good enough for her. Their food preparation looks beautiful. They do a lot of afternoon parties. They have a chef. We were there when they were prepping all this beautiful food from fresh vegetables to pick on and order. It looked amazing. My mom is in a shared room. It is at $3,000 a month. It's not very big, but she's paired with somebody just like her. She is incontinent, so she needs to be changed and cleaned every hour and a half. The activities are endless. They have Taichi, bingo, art, and dance. Every day it's something different, but it goes on all day long. They do movie nights and have ice cream socials. They have a band that comes in every day, so that lasts about an hour. They set up all the food and the music for their age. It's amazing and very entertaining. It's only been a week, but no disappointment at this time, especially since they have redone it. If you would have asked me three weeks ago, I would have given a rating of two, as far as decor and looks."

"We toured Cottages at Belleair. Dawn, the girl who gave us a tour, was almost as good as the other two facilities. It was a pleasure to meet her and everything she did for us. She was a sweet lady. We had snacks, and she went out of the room and came back and got us all coffee. There was a little area where you could walk around outside, and a little wrought iron gates. You can go into each little area, where they specialize in memory care in one and something else in another, and it was nice as well."

"My dad is living in Seasons Belleair. It has been great. They're very good. It's super clean, too. They keep my dad very entertained. They take him out all the time to tons of different activities. It's the most active community that we have found. I've never tasted the food, but it looks good. They have a chef that tries to cater to everybody's likes and stuff. They do a really good job. I would put everything at the top. It's good. They've been amazing. The facility itself is very clean and very open. There's a nice outside area to walk. Everything's great. They have a great-sized room. This facility is top-notch. Their activities are super. They do concerts every night. They have stuff going on all the time. They take them out bowling, and they also play tetherball. It's crazy how different it is there. It's wonderful."

"Emeritus at Carollwood was very nice and clean. It was definitely for people who don't need a lot of care. The staff had been pretty good. The rooms were pretty big. Unfortunately, in my program it was semi-private. So, they had to have a roommate, but they were decent in size. They had a lot of activities. They had an activity director who seemed to have activities at least three times a day. "

"I had a tour, and now I am trying to get my mom in the place. It’s lovely and cheerful. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The whole place was clean, and the apartments were really nice and well furnished. The dining area is very nice and open and looks like it's a great place to have a meal. "

"My brother moved into Lake House and it's very nice. The grounds are very well-kept, and the building is well-kept. It's decorated nicely. The rooms are spacious, too. They also have a nice cafeteria for the guests there, and the people that work there are really nice. Michael and Jessica are all very nice people, but Tisha is a very nice person. She takes care of the things on the property. They're very quick, and if you say you need something, they get it right away. My brother says the food is good. They already had a Halloween party, but I've only been there a few times. They seem to be doing something all the time. According to what they told me, they do things like weekly outings, but with COVID they put a pause on that for a while. They're getting back to that now, though. I think they also do daily activities. They watch movies, and probably have bingo games and things like that, but I'm not sure exactly what the games they play are. They have a nice outdoor patio area on the lake. All the units have air conditioning so you can control your air conditioning. They have very large bathrooms in each unit. You can furnish it yourself, or they'll furnish it for you at no extra cost. They also have phones in the rooms, and you can have your own phone. It's a $20 charge a month for that. They have cable TV and WiFi, too. They do things all the time, and they decorate nicely for the holidays. Here, shortly, they're going to start decorating for probably the holidays, Thanksgiving, and then probably Christmas. But they put lots of decorations out and stuff. They take very nice care of the lobby area. When you walk in there, everything is pretty nice looking."
