My aunt is at North-Lake Retirement Home. It's an assisted living facility, so they assist them with their daily needs. They make sure they're fed, they make sure that they're getting their medicine, and that they're clean and everything. So right off the bat I see there's a difference. My aunt is 91 and stubborn, so it's kind of hard to get her to do things, but in the days that she's been there, I see a noticeable improvement in her. Meals are included. They have a few activities and stuff. They wash their clothes and stuff like that, so it looks like it's going to be a really good setup for her. The staff have been very helpful given the situation and everything. The place looks clean and well kept. My aunt mentioned something about like an exercise class in the morning, and I noticed a board in the lobby that said that they do different things. I don't know what kind of things, but they do some different activities with residents.

North Lake Retirement Home is small, and it has basically nothing. The food has changed, so it's good now. A new cook has come in, and she's wonderful. They serve 3 meals a day with snacks in the afternoon. There are no activities, no people coming in, no entertainment, no religious groups, no cards, nothing. Lately, I'm busy on the phone about getting referrals from doctors and getting transportation to get to these places. I do all of that myself. So basically, this place does not do anything but house me. If you're a needy in-bed type of resident, they take care of you really well.
