My spouse is happy at Amelia Springs Assisted Living. The thing I like best about it and what drew me to it is that it's more like a private home. My spouse hated those that look so institutional, the big impersonal places. Carolina was helpful, efficient, and good to the patients. She knows all their names. She goes around and speaks with them and interacts with them. I couldn't ask for better staff. She is the only person I know so far because just after I placed my spouse in there, I came home, got sick, and I've been sick ever since. I haven't been able to go back, but Carolina has since then helped me over the phone and told me how my spouse was doing, etc., so I have nothing but good to say. Everything was very clean. It seems to be a rather old facility, but to me, it's in good shape. The outside is beautiful. I had no complaints whatsoever as far as that was concerned. I feel comfortable there. I think my spouse's room is adequate. The bathroom is more than adequate. It is fine for one person, I wouldn't want two people in there. It's adequate because, in the memory care unit, everything is close by. My spouse goes out of her room, and there's the TV room and the dining room. Everybody is mostly out walking around talking to each other, so I think that's good. I would recommend that highly.

Amelia Springs was nice and it's in an area where it is nice and shady. They were doing a sing-along. I think the residents all seemed pleasant and happy. It was kind of dated though. Two ladies were sitting on the front porch, and they both said they loved it there. They spoke highly of it. The staff was very friendly and punctual. And then she took me into the memory care and let me see that. It was very small compared to where my sister-in-law is now. It needed to be updated. It was a little bit dark. The closets were so tiny and needed to be updated.

The best thing about Amelia Springs Assisted Living would be the location. There was nothing I didn't like about it. The staff was very helpful. I thought the building was in good condition. The atmosphere was good. The room was a good size, plus a bathroom.

My tour was very positive. They're doing a lot of work there right now, and they're putting in an addition. We met with the administrator. She spent a long time with us and was very helpful. We toured memory care because that's the one we were most interested in. We also saw their assisted living and the whole place. The staff that we met were just so positive and welcoming. The facility was really nice, and they were all so helpful.

I visited, but it didn't have the level of care my sister needed. They were good, though, and they had nice staff. They're also close to my house. I would probably recommend it because they take all kinds of insurance, and for a lot of people, that's really attractive.

I am very happy. They are very caring people. It is the right size for my dad, and I feel like they really care about him as a person. The rooms are very inviting for the people who live there. The porch is beautiful because there are flowers and comfortable seating. They painted my dad’s room for us, and they did not need to because there was nothing wrong with the paint, but they ask me what color I would like for it, and they did it. They even provided him with a bedspread that they didn’t need to do. They put personal touches in the rooms, so it feels like they are living in a home. We are renting some of my dad’s furniture from them, but it doesn’t look institutional. It looks like it came from somebody’s home. The grounds are beautiful and well-kept. There are mature trees and bushes, and it looks like 2 houses. I think the administrator is the heart of the place. She is a young woman. I am not a young woman, and she puts me at ease and comforts me as the child. She really is special. My dad has been in 2 other places, and I didn’t say that about any of the other administrators. She is the real key to the success of the place.

It was pretty good. We thought that it would be appropriate for my daughter. The food was fine. They had limited activities.
